Van Ness Inn in San Francisco

The fact I liked the most is that the motel is located in a quite residential and quiet neighbourhood that at the same time is fairly close to some important places like the piers and Columbus Av. And also important, it's very easy to find and access by car.

The room was very clean and everything in it was either new or in excellent condition. Breakfast was basic, but it worked (wasn't looking forward to have it in the motel, anyway). It wasn't very cheap, but I went to Frisco for New Year's Eve so I assume that makes sense.

What I didn't like was that I reserved for 2 people and when I requested to change the room for 3 people they charged me extra, but they gave me the same room for 2. The attention could be improved, but overall it was satisfactory.

Clean, comfortable, near transportation and some eating places. Check in fast. Room is small and very basic with some out dated furniture. No phone in room but really no need since have cell phone. Has small fridge and microwave and coffee maker. Iron and hairdryer provided. Comfortable bed and pillows. A little stingy with towels. Good parking with good security in parking area that is well lighted. Had some issues with TV not working as no remote. Staff seems nice and helpful. Looks like they are doing some remodeling which would make it get more stars from me. If you are looking for clean, comfortable and basic this is the place for you. Near bus lines. Near Polk Gulch with places to shop and eat.

It's a place to stay. Not much more or less than that. Picked this hotel because of free parking and location. Room was extremely small but functional and semi-clean. Great location to pick up a bus to go to the pier or transfer to street & cable cars. Very thin walls and didn't sleep much because of other noisy guests but would probably stay again. Breakfast was coffee, muffins and donuts, but convenience store and coffee shop right across the street.
