There was no bar or restaurant service available. After a long journey, we had to go out ourselves to find something to eat/drink.

The room was spacious, a bit old but clean and tidy. The location was great, very convenient for getting around. The facilities were complete, and the service was good. The only downside was the elevator, which was old and a bit slow.

Stayed for two nights room only. I really liked the design of the hotel, artwork and facilities. The pool area is really nice and they have their own sun beds on Miami Beach which are complementary for hotel guests. Hotel is about 1 street back from the beach but still a wonderful location.
The room was comfortable without being spectacular, everything worked and it was a decent size. Rooms are not as interestingly designed as the rest of the hotel.
All staff I talked to were very nice and helpful but at both checkin and checkout there were long lines to speak to someone. We waited over 20 mins to start the checkin process.
Overall I would be happy to stay at The Gates Hotel again.

Right across the street from 1 Hotel Miami, and a 5-minute walk to the beach. The hotel is lovely and smells wonderful everywhere. It's also a 10-minute walk to 16th Street for dining and shopping!

Excellent hotel in a good location and close to the beach, with a large room and comfortable beds. I didn't have breakfast. The staff wasn't very attentive to customer needs.

We live in Key West and come to Miami every 2-3 months. We have stay at this hotel, the Fontainebleau, or one of the 2 Kimptons for 5 years and always had a great experience at this hotel until this trip. It started at check in The guy at the desk “Carlos” was rude from the beginning. He was a smart aleck about everything. It was my wife’s birthday trip and it was definitely not the way we wanted to start it. Our room was hot and we didn’t have enough towels. We had dinner reservations and were going to see Andrea Bocelli. When we got back the room was still hot but we were exhausted from the day so we went to sleep. At 6:0am it was so hot it woke us up. My wife went to the front desk and a very nice Eloisa was there and helped my wife and they sent someone to look at it after 5 minutes it was working. I asked what was wrong and he said “it had a bubble in it” but acted like he couldn’t speak any more English. The thermostat was on cool and set 60° but the room never got below 74° at 6:00am. When my wife went to ask for a Double Tree Cookie she was told they were no longer a double tree hotel. This is one of the main reasons we stayed there and it has definitely changed. When we got there The Miami Dolphins were playing in Miami and every TV in the awesome bar area was off and I asked “Carlos” if they could turn the game on and was told it was under renovation but there was no sign of construction and if it was it had nothing to do with the tvs in the lobby. The entire vibe here is not what it was the last time we stayed here. This is a great location and one of the only hotels that still has a hot tub “but it only works half of the time”. He was also a **** about the pool towel card policy and said if I didn’t return the nasty reused card I would be charged $25 per card just to get a towel by the pool. If you do decide to stay there and there is a 20 something Spanish guy at the desk come back later for the sake of your peace on vacation.

I believe it would be better to only charge guests who request these services. Another negative aspect for us is the deposit; $100 per night seems excessive. However, the most negative part is the waiting time for the refund. IT'S BEEN 18 DAYS TODAY, AND WE STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE REFUND. We hope this refund process doesn't turn into a negative experience. We stayed at this hotel from 11/17/2025 to 11/27/2025.

Hotel was amazing. Polite staff, the hotel lobby was clean. The bed and pillows was so comfortable. Not at least the view from the terrace was spot on. Will definitely be booking again.

I wish I could give this restaurant a 5 because the food was so worth every penny. It was soooo good. We had a party of 8 and combined we had the braised short rib, lamb chops, the king crab (verrry small, more like a prince lol), Mac n cheese, and salad (they don't have ranch). All of the food was good, great, and phenomenal!
However, when it came to splitting the checks, it was terror trying to calculate how much each person's ticket was. The manager wasn't really helpful until we finally figured everything out an hour later.
The atmosphere was very elegant and laid back.

I am thoroughly disgusted with my NYE experience at this hotel's pool "wet". Only one small poolside bathroom was allowed to be used for over 2000 people. I imagine people staying in the hotel we're going up to there rooms. It didn't even feel like a concert as no one was dancing the entire night. You couldn't expect people to dance because they care more about making money then people enjoying there experience. No joke, there was no dedicated area or dance floor and my girlfriend and I were told to dance between the reserved bottle service tables. At one point I addressed a bouncer because somebody grabbed her multiple times only to be yelled at and escorted out by approximately 7 bouncers out of the club that I agreed to leave on my own after this terrible experience. As I was leaving, a bouncer informed me that he could beat me up and I was shoved by them from behind.
I don't know what this place is like a normal basis, but if you are planning to go for NYE, I STRONGLY suggest anywhere else on earth.

As a frequent diner of fine restaurants around the world, I can tell you that this restaurant is not what you think fine dining is. These guys are clueless on real customer service. Unnecessary additude. Laughable. Sloppy. Impolite. “Fake Politeness”

Not sure how the reviews are so bad.. have been to most of the best restaurants in Miami and the service here was the best by a mile. Food was good and the staff were all amazing. One of the only restaurants that don't automatically take 20%+ service charge off the bill as well but definitely deserve a good tip.
