I had the absolute joy of getting married at The Drake Hotel on May 3, 2025, and I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience. From the moment we started planning in January 2024, Ali and Ariella were incredible — thoughtful, organized, responsive, and genuinely kind. Now that our wedding has come and gone, I honestly miss talking with them!

We kicked off our wedding weekend with a super fun Welcome Party the night before, and then celebrated with 260 guests in the stunning Gold Coast Room for our reception. So many of our friends and family — of all ages and backgrounds — told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to. They were blown away by the beauty of the space, the impeccable service, the delicious multi-course dinner, and the quality of drinks.

I wholeheartedly recommend The Drake for anyone planning a wedding or even just a stay in Chicago. Compared to other Downtown venues, the pricing was fair — and in return, we got so much more value, beauty, and care than we ever expected.

This day will stay with us forever. Thank you, Ali and Ariella, and the entire Drake team — you helped make it unforgettable!

First trip to Chicago and so thankful we stayed at The Drake. What a gorgeous hotel in the most perfect location. Immediately upon walking in the most amazing floral smell from the beautiful flowers that adorn the lobby, greet you. Valet staff, lobby staff, desk staff and everyone else was so very pleasant. Room was wonderful and appreciated the two bathrooms we chose for our stay. We felt the history while staying here and planning on another visit this summer because it was so enjoyable!

This review is strictly for the hotel, not the Afternoon Tea- which was lovely for the ambiance albeit a little overpriced.

Anyone who believes the rooms are "dated" is NOT "getting it". This is THE DRAKE, a hotel of a bygone era of classic and impeccable tastes. Wallpaper, lion drawer pulls and a TUB you can actually SOAK IN?!?! Yes, please!!!

I will admit a fridge and a microwave would be nice modern touches but do not, do not, change the style of the hotel!!!! Please do not listen to these reviews about "upgrading" anything!!

Upon entry you can smell flowers galore, with chandeliers welcoming you on every floor. We had a lovely Lakeview room, complimentary upgraded upon asking. Yes, there was no free breakfast, but there was no need when you have The Original Pancake House around the corner from the hotel! Free bottles of water available at the front desk. The teamaker was fine, worked properly. Housekeeping was done and fine.

The staff was courteous and sweet..Chris, the African American doorman offered to take pictures, hug my sick mother and I, and just a nice person. The location on the Magnificent Mike was top notch. I will gladly return again!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Drake. Check-in was welcoming and efficient, and the front desk was always easy to reach via the Hilton app. As Hilton Honors Gold members, we were pleasantly surprised with complimentary room upgrades, which made us feel genuinely appreciated. One room had a limited view and not much natural light, but the corner room we also had was beautifully lit and very inviting.

Yes, the hotel has an old-school vibe, and while some areas might benefit from modernization, everything was clean, well-maintained, and functional. The entrance is stunning, and the bellhops were consistently friendly. Housekeeping was also great. All in all, a lovely experience in a legendary hotel.

Wonderful hotel, but dated. Lobby is breathtakingly beautiful. Service friendly and eager to help. Rooms comfortable, quiet, and spacious but in need of an update. Scratched walls and furniture. Worn bathroom, shower and tub needs replacement. Though this hotel is “historic,” could definitely still use some more modern touches (and touch ups). Overall though, I had a pleasant stay and would return.

I've been here a few times, recently this past weekend with my girlfriend and her cousins. Cocktails are about $17 and above. If you're lucky enough you can sit by the window and observe the great views of Chicago (especially at night). Our server never told us there was there was a waiting list to sit by the window, we had to ask. She told us to ask the host, we asked the host, and he mentioned we'd have to wait (no length of time or in what order we were). The management of sitting people by the window can definitely be improved.

Amazing! We got a window view which was beautiful. Service was prompt and consistent. They knew we were celebrating an anniversary and took to the nines with that. If my steak came out a little warmer it would have been absolutely perfect, but I would not dock them a star for this. Can not wait to come back in the future!

Usually for this kind of places you have to be all suit up and expect some kind of big line to enter. In my experience none of this was a problem. The service was very fast and nice. A nice table for four with couple of friends have some drinks in the sunset was spectacular. And not to expensive considering the view

Where to begin! I went with a few friends from out of town for dinner. We did have a reservation, so we were able to speed past the line waiting to go up to the bar. I asked the hostess if we could be seated on the south side of the building, as I believe it has some of the best views. We got a window seat, and our waiter, Jim was outstanding and went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience as it was my first time visiting. While we were doing, Arman the restaurant manager, offered to take us up to the bat and give us a tour. After dinner, we went upstairs and were able to bypass a line of about 50 people waiting for tables, where Arman gave us our own table. I would definitely recommend going here for a special event or night on the town, and will be requesting Jim as my server every time I visit! The prices are steep, but the overall experience is definitely worth the price!

Very disappointing service. We had drinks and gave a 15% tip. The waitress came up to me and waved the bill in my face and said that she circled something for future use! I was shocked! Looked at the bill and it said " SUGGESTED TIP: 18% etc.." We were treated very disrespectfully for $2 that we lacked in the tip!!!! I was not happy to be treated this way so I took the bill and went up to her and told her not to treat their customers like that because of $2! It says SUGGESTED tip and customers tip if we are happy with the service, that waitress's service was not good, she was rude and constantly wanted to get rid of us so she got 15% and she treated us very bad! very disappointing and unprofessional!
Great view but not on balcony so better to go to a balcony setting elsewhere. Would not recommend this place

The food taste okay they give you big size portions of food. My biggest issue is that their are no signs indicating that the validation for parking is only a fraction of the cost. Even inside the Cheesecake Factory The hostess told me to validate my car even though I could park it for free and I paid almost the same price of validating the parking to the cost of my food. I spoke with the manager Darren he informed me that the hostess is trained not to tell the complete truth about the validation of the parking ticket. Or inform the customers correctly about that they still pay for parking even though they ate at Cheesecake Factory.

Pretty good food and fast service for a full house. I thought the lighting was a bit dim but I guess this is the atmosphere this restaurant is trying to create. The cheesecake recommendation from our server was excellent and the raspberry sauce on the side was awesome! ?

My first visit to this location, my wife is almost a regular here! Could not be happier with our visit! It wasn't busy when we came, Grace was our waiter and she was extremely courteous and helpful! Food was top notch, cheesecake was perfect. Will definitely return here!

Excellent menu! Lots of great appetizers and you're not going to go wrong with any of the entrees. Avocado eggrolls are the favorites here for appetizers, however they're all excellent! The entrees are all large portions and they have something for everyone. Treat yourself right to one of their cheesecakes and you'll be happy you did. Great service too!

Our sever was pleasant, but asked for a refill on bread because we didn't get enough the first time for 6 people. He never brought the bread, so I asked again and he said it was coming, it never did, so I didn't bother to ask again. All our food came out at different times and one of us ordered sweet potato fries, but they didn't come out with the sandwich and we were told they were still in the fryer cooking. Had to ask about the fries and they FINALLY were brought when we were ready to box food up.

Very pleasantly surprised as I was expecting average overpriced food. Wrong!!! Menu selections vary to meet anyone's taste. Service is professional and prompt. I ordered the filet mignon duo and it was superb! Perfectly prepared and best of all a great price. Additionally, if you're an NFL fan in general you will still appreciate the memorabilia on display here, too! I felt the $75 bill (including app and dessert) beat out the French food I had the night before. Glad I ate here.

With how busy this place was when we arrived, I was extremely impressed. The servers, busters, greeters all worked really well together. They can clear a table in seconds. The food was amazing! Love all their special sauces!

Came here for a group meal and we were given a private room upstairs. The service was excellent, our waiter was named James. He was attentive without being intrusive. There were 12 of us and we all really enjoyed our meals. They accommodated the vegetarian within the group with an off menu pasta. I got the meatloaf and it was very large, great for leftovers. I have also had the pork chop here which is also very delicious.
