Biohotel Eggensberger in Fussen

We chose this hotel as a place to reconnect with friends and family while living abroad, and it truly served that purpose well. It offered a comfortable, welcoming base where we could slow down, enjoy good food, take daily walks, and spend meaningful time together.

The balance between privacy and togetherness made our stay feel easy and restorative. It is a lovely choice for anyone looking to combine connection, well-being, and a relaxed, thoughtful stay.

A very warm welcome, exceptionally comfortable beds, a stunning view, and wonderful food. We loved every minute.

Overall a very enjoyable stay. Location is superb with incredible walks from straight outside the hotel. Welcome was excellent and the room and food super. Service at times was a little inattentive at the bar and in the dining room. Some evenings it was fine and some evenings it appeared that there was no overall management of the operation. One slight quibble was the charge for water while dining. There is complementary cold filtered water available in the wellness area but not in the restaurant where bottled water is available for €6.90.

We stayed at the Biohotel Eggensberger over Christmas and absolutely loved the experience. The hotel facilities are beautiful, the location is perfect for hiking and sightseeing in the local area (which we did entirely on foot and by bus and train - definitely no need for a car), and the staff are friendly, helpful, and very considerate. The food and service in the restaurant was outstanding throughout our week-long stay; the chefs catered superbly well for my vegan diet with delicious menus and varied choices and we loved the breakfasts, the extensive lunch/afternoon tea buffets, and the delicious dinner menus. The hotel also has a great wine list and well-stocked bar and the daily wine recommendations were extremely helpful and appreciated. We loved the entire experience of staying here and the Christmas Eve carol service with the family was the icing on the cake.

English translations of important signs up eg sauna usage would have been appreciated and make non German guests feel more included.
Some staff eg kitchen/hot counter were really lovely, others not eg attempt to charge us e17 for 2 packed breakfasts when we left early on final day even though final breakfast was included. When we queried we were told aggressively ‘it was because of all the extra work’ (for 2 rolls, an apple and some water in a bag). Fortunately nice man on last night noticed it and said we shouldn’t have been charged and took it off.
Also charged exorbitantly (7 euro) for bottle of waters in the eve even though we just wanted water from the tap (better eco choice)every eve but apparently not allowed.
We enjoyed our bikes v much after poor start, staff member had no time to show us and we had to return twice due to run down battery on first bike and non adjustable saddle in the second. But we really appreciated having been offered them for free and they were then fantastic and we also really appreciated the Fussen Pass and the free taxis to and from the station.
So overall great and lovely hotel but some of your staff need more training in making guests feel seen and looked after.

We stayed here for one night and it was great. Very friendly and helpful staff, an indoor and outdoor pool, foot baths, sauna and a range of spa treatments. The dinner was amazing, 5 courses! Breakfast was a big buffet with loads of choice. We had a room on the third floor with amazing views across the lake and mountains.
