Reviews
The food was excellent, especially the breakfast, which was truly 5-star quality with a great variety and fresh options. The staff were very professional, courteous, and always willing to help. A special mention goes to K. Harapaj, who was extremely helpful and made the stay even more comfortable with outstanding service.
Overall, a great experience and a hotel I would happily stay at again. Highly recommended!
According to the reception it had something to do with "chinese guests that arrived at the hotel and took all available rooms with the double beds. Available room means in this perspective: a room that might be reserved (by pre-order), but where the guest has not checked in, yet. I was tired, needed a shower and it was either looking for another hotel, accept the offer to take the single-bed-room, or sleep in the car (with 10 degrees outside). I took the single-bed-room.
So I had to spend the night in a room with a single bed. Okay the bed was bigger than a single bed, but also smaller than two single beds. And as of that was not enough, I had to share the bed with another guy. THE SAME BED! I knew I had to share the room with the guy, therefore I pre-ordered two separated beds. And we end up in the same bed.
Reception looked not really interested in the problems they caused by overbooking the rooms. Two times sorry and that's it. Take it or leave it. They did not say it that way but their attitude said that they did not care much. Not even an financial compensation. If I remember correctly the price of a room with one bed for two persons or two single beds is the same. But nevertheless I payed for the comfort of sleeping in my own bed, instead i had to share it. Both of us did not sleep as good as in a single bed: at one side of the bed there is the roommate, at the other side you fall out of the bed. It was really a small bed. Queensize or something.
The TV is outdated, and even the remote control didn’t work. The staff at the breakfast buffet were also rude. If there are specific rules, they should be clearly communicated before booking or at check-in.
It felt more like a 2-star hotel. I will never stay here again.
Room was not smelling that good
You have to pay 18€ for 24h parking
Sadly the (basic) technology feels dated and in need of renewal:
- the AC was nothing more than a very noisy fan, there was no cooling effect even on maximum level. We were lucky that the weather just cooled down and a tilted window helped us. Technicians to fix that are only on site in the morning (according to the front desk). Luckily our room was facing away from the highway ramp, so the traffic was not too loud. But we could hear the conversations from the people outside quite well.
- the water pressure in the shower of the 5th floor was a bit low and the heater was a bit "jumpy". Every minute or two the water got way warmer and then colder again for a few seconds.
- the kettle in the room did not work at all
- basically every time we came back to our room at least one key card was no longer working, often both. During a two night stay we had to get new / re-coded cards three times, and one of the final pair also stopped working the night before check out. We stored our cards in a NFC shielded purse, far away from our phones (the front desk mentioned at the first time that having them close to the phone may cause this issue)
- they provide a capsule coffee machine but we could not find any pods anywhere in the room
For us this wasn't a too big issue, but if you rely on any of that you maybe should be prepared and have a plan B.
(Yes, we reported all of this when it happened / we recognized it and again on check out)
