Galini Mare in Agia Galini

The room was very disappointing: a rusty, dented bed, a bathroom that constantly flooded with a mop already provided, and old furniture in a run-down state. No desk, no comfort at all. For this price simply unacceptable.

Disgusting by the hotel staff. We were due to arrive on 10/5/25 for a night away with my wife while our family stayed at another resort. We’ve just been devastated that our 2 year old daughter died suddenly in the early hours of 3/5/25 and are devastated. We had to cancel our holiday to process our grief and be there for our little girl to start with inquest and funeral proceedings. We asked under the circumstances, if we could request free cancellation and the hotel said no, still charging us. This hotel has no compassion at all and has further added misery on our family at time of devastation to us. I am a regular visitor to Galini as a close friend of the family of an ex Pat that lived there, Barbara and know Heinz will also be shocked and disgusted. I will be telling everyone I know in Galini about this experience when I gather the strength. Shame on you all.

My partner booked this hotel for 16 nights through booking.com. Without her permission he cancelled the booking on booking.com and asked her to pay him directly, preferably in cash. The room had a good view of the sea but was dingy and urgently needed redecoration. She decided to leave after 2 nights . As a good will gesture I offered him payment for 3 nights but he immediately became angry and threatened me with the police if I didn’t pay for the 16 nights. When I refused he called the police
I tried to reason with him and explained as my partner was ill she didn’t need this stress, but in the end I had to pay him a €630 cancellation fee as I didn’t want to be brought to a police station in a foreign country.
There are so many lovely hotels in Galini, Astoria right opposite is one I have stayed in and loved but never ever again Galini Mare.
