Iphigenia Mythic Retreat in Hersonissos

We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Iphigenia Mythic Retreat.From the moment we arrived we were captivated by the serene atmosphere,breath taking surroundings and the genuine warmth of the lovely couple Christos and Marianna. The Retreat is a true hidden gem,beautifully designed and so relaxing.The breakfast,served with such love and care is really special.A real personal touch. What truly sets Iphigenia Mythic Retreat apart is the truly exceptional level of care and thoughtfulness.Marianna serves gorgeous Cocktails.Best I have ever had.Marianna and her husband Christos are so delightful and want to make your stay perfect.Friendly but repectful,not intrusive.You have plenty of personal space to unwind. We enjoyed walking into town,browsing and relaxing.There is a little Land Train nearby which you can hop on and off and we enjoyed this.Plenty of Excusion Outlets to book trips.Lidl is just across the road,very useful.Christos makes filling tasty meals,piping hot and delicious. Extra highlight was adorable Coconut! The little dog who greeted us each day! So cute! We will definately be returning to this special place.

What a great apartment. Chersonisos is within walking distance but you are still far enough away not to be bothered by noise. Marianna and Xristos really do everything, absolutely everything to give you a fantastic stay, which it certainly was. Nothing is too crazy. What a super sweet couple. The beds are good, breakfast very good and plenty of choice, shower is small but easy to use, hot water and good jet. Hair dryer is available and WiFi is good. Cozy bar where everything is available. Xristos is a great cook. We experienced that 1 of the "guests" came to the hospital, the guests were not in our apartment but had been there before. They came every day for something to eat and drink. Marianne and Xristos helped these people in every possible way, including shelter. You don't hear that everywhere. In high season Xristos is already in the garden early to check that returning walkers let the other guests sleep. We will definitely come back. A wonderfully cozy holiday where we were able to relax.

Returned from a wonderful weeks stay at the Iphigenia Mystic Retreat, as a family of four (18 & 16yr old children). Where do I start…the owners MariAnna & Christos are amazing hosts, working tirelessly to ensure you have a perfect & memorable stay, recommending places to visit, assisting with car hire & booking fantastic restaurants. This is a beautiful and intimate hotel, serving just 12 individual apartments means there is no need to rush for sun beds! The facilities cater for all ages. The day sun beds are a great addition. And the grounds are beautiful. There is an array of food (large portions) and drink available at the hotel bar with certain cocktails only 4 Euros, with well known & local beers and spirits, together with fruit drinks and ice creams. Yes, the bathrooms are small however with a shower, basin & toilet, what else do you need? The apartments have lots of space with added balcony or terrace area and the air conditioning is a god send. The hotel is located a short 10 mins walk downhill to Hersonissos beach and bar/restaurant strip where you have an unlimited amount of choice. Would recommend Cretan Blue & Med Cafe. Herssonisos Old Town (traditional Greek) is also worth a visit one evening by taxi (10 Euros) and meal at Zachos is a must, staff are fantastic & play games involving Raki! A hire call, whilst not a necessity should be considered to see the sites where you will find amazing, friendly & cheap tavernas in the remote mountain roads. In summary, we had a memorable and fantastic family stay at the Iphigenia. The facilities are perfect and the owners so thoughtful. Hope to visit again soon.

Just back from a lovely relaxing trip in the company of Mariann and Chris and coconut their friendly full of character dog. The location is perfect only a 10 min walk away from the main strip/Beach. The home cooked food (cooked up by Chris) was tasty and very generously portioned. The pool/apartments are clean and perfectly proportioned. The biggest asset of staying here was the warmth of the hosts, both lovely people who made our stay even better. A little hidden gem

Just back from a wonderful holiday at Iphigenia , lovely room which was very clean and modern, bed very comfortable , lots of lovely touches everywhere you go, lovely sunbeds and pool area , with a great vibe Mariann and Chris who run the hotel, are very hard working and engaging , nothing is to much trouble, so just want to make your holiday the best , for us we loved every minute and can’t wait to return very soon

Amazing little gem of a retreat. Myself and my wife loved everything about the stay. Rooms are very spacious and very clean. I noticed some previous comments about the shower being compact. Yes its a little snug but for a place to shower, it fine. Lots of seating around the pool. More than enough shaded area's to sit when sun is a bit hot to sit in. Food was home cooked and amazing. On site bar which is reasonably priced. Accommodation 5 star, Attention to detail was great. Hosts are amazing, friendly and always happy to help with queries or directions when going sightseeing. Can't comment on public transport as we had hire car, which we would recommend. We will definitely be booking up again for our holiday in September 2024. Not forgetting the lovely little resident dog called coconut.

An amazing little haven with 12 apartments which are secluded but only 10 mins away from the strip. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Marianna and Christos are amazing hosts and very friendly and will go out of there way to help you from recommending places to visit, directions and what to eat. There is a happy hour every day from 3pm til 11pm and prices are very reasonable, if you like your cocktails they are a few which are buy one get one free and average at approx. 7 euros, can't complain for 2 cocktails at that price! The place istself is what it says on the label, a retreat where you can enjoy peace and quiet, relaxation, comfort and to recharge your batteries. Will definitely be booking again!!

Big thank you to Marianna and Xhristos, they are excellent hosts. They help you with anything and everything and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is lovely, we loved the fresh scrambled eggs and the Greek yoghurt is delicious. The menu for lunch/dinner is wide ranging, everything is cooked fresh and is amazing, Xhristos is a great chef. Please try the Greek pizza and beef Ragu pasta, it's yummy. All of the menu is very fairly priced as are the drinks, even if we went to the strip to eat, we'd make sure we had one or two drinks when we came back. We loved the large sunbeds with canopies, the pool is small but adequate, the garden the other side under the olive trees is lovely and quiet. We had a superior room, the air conditioning was a god send. Lovely balcony, we were on the first floor. Could do with some more shelves in the bedroom for clothes, just ask if you need any more coat hangers. Pool towels are provided and are lovely and soft. You will drown the bathroom, whether you use the shower curtain or not! Always plenty of hot water. It's great having Lidl over the road so you can stock up on essentials and the fridge in the room is large enough to accommodate plenty Located a 10 minute walk downhill to the beach/strip and shops. Uphill on the way back but not too drastic and it works off all the food and drink you will eat! You will not be disappointed with the accommodation and the welcome you receive. What other hotel walks you to your return transfer and gives you a hug and kiss goodbye? Until we meet again.

We just returned from a truly wonderful stay at this incredible hotel which exceeded our expectations. We are a couple in our late 20’s and loved the design and attention to detail this hotel offered. The hotel itself feels secluded but is conveniently located near the main town within a 10 minute walking distance. It’s a nice walk and is not hilly/difficult to manage. There is a supermarket directly opposite and a open air cinema down the road. The room was much bigger than expected, and was really nicely designed with a minimalistic/neutral feel. The furniture was lovely and the bed was the comfiest we’ve experienced away from home, we slept really well! The room had a fridge and kitchenette area which was very handy, and was cleaned regularly during our stay. The pool/garden areas offered so much variety in terms of sunloungers and day beds which we really loved, both a mix of shaded and more open ones. It was beautifully maintained and we felt very comfortable spending all day by the pool. Their was also a really nice seated area to the left of the pool which offered comfy garden furniture which was perfect for evening drinks. What ultimately made this outstanding was the 5* service from both Marianna and Xristos. They went above and beyond for us and made this a must-return hotel for us. They were incredibly attentive and treated us so well. All of the food was incredible, my wife is vegetarian and they were very accommodating for her and offered alternatives from the menu which was great. The range of drinks and quality of cocktails was also amazing for the size of the hotel. We also fell in love with Coconut the dog, who was a great host! I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone. We cannot wait to return and already looking to book again for next year 😊

The hosts were absolutely amazing. We had such a lovely time there. The food was delicious. We couldn't wish for a better place. The hotel is quiet but on a walking distance to the beach and the lively centre of Hersonissos. So the best of both worlds.
