Hotel Tsagarakis Beach in Amoudara

Fantastic hotel, very historic with a lot of charm and character. Rooms perfectly modern, all with balconies with sea-views. Pool perfectly clean and beach is on your doorstep. There's local supermarket nearby had things at normal and non-touristy prices, and the nearby Mitato restaurant was brilliant, we went back a 2nd time. Both within walking distance.

The owner Ioannis was a true gentleman who was really helpful with putting us in touch with a very reliable and friendly taxi service for getting about. We were large group of guys who could have very easily tested the patience of this family hotel but they couldn't have been nicer or more respectful.

It’s a great place right next to the beach.
If you look for smth hip and modern but soulless that’s not for you. But this place got its charisma, friendly people and again - the greatest location!

I spent a week at this hotel during the summer of 2025, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! Waking up to the stunning sea view just steps away was a dream. My room was incredible, with panoramic views that made every morning feel special. The staff were always polite and had big smiles, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Having guest parking was super convenient since we rented a car for the week. The hotel is just a 5-minute drive from the center of Heraklion, which made exploring really easy. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Crete, and I’d love to stay here again if I get the chance to return! :)

I’ve been lucky enough to spend one week at Tsagarakis Beach Hotel, overlooking the beautiful Ammoudara beach.

I have no words to describe the beauty of this place.

Located literally 2 minutes walking from the beach, it’s not far from the city centre.

I’ve been able to reach by bus the main attractions (such as the amazing Archeological Museum, the Knossos palace, etc.).

Upon my arrival, my friend and I have been warmly welcomed by Mr Tsagarakis, who’s been a great host since the real first moment until the end of our staying.
Always smiling, always friendly and ready to help, providing suggestions and support.

All the other members of the staff have been very kind and nice too.
The lady who arranged the breakfast was always making sure that everything would be perfect.

Being vegan myself, I was concerned re the breakfast.
But the lovely owner of the hotel made sure that I would find something suitable for me every day.

Mr Tsagarakis’ mother is a very friendly lady too: she always gifted us with delicious biscuits and home made treats.

Supermarkets and several restaurants are located just minutes away, at a walking distance.

Also, the swimming pool is very clean and quite big.

I would recommend the Tsagarakis Beach hotel to relatives and friends and I’ll definitely come back again.

The hotel is beachfront and the sandy beach is quiet. You can get free sunbeds and enjoy the beach without loud music. Nice pool, simple room but you get all essentials you need. The owner put a lot of heart into his family business. One can see many lovely traditional decorations and well maintained plants.

This is not a luxurary hotel for parties but I find it very pleasent for family vacations. The sunset from balcony is a plus!

Our stay at Tsagarakis Beach was exactely what we were looking for. A family hotel directely at the beach with a nice swimmingpool. The hosts treated us like family members and really spoiled us! If you don`t need high end luxury but a superfriendly greek welcome atmosphere - that`s the place to go.
From the hotel we went on a a long beachwalk to Heraklion and took a rental car to explore the rest of the island.

Wonderful family who run this hotel (the best), love it, I recommend it 100%.

Very nice hotel and lovely hosts. The room was very clean and the stuff very helpful. Everything is close, easy to get to the city. Good tavernas nearby. It was a pleasure to be there.

A very good location, if you don't want to be staying in the center of Heraklio and want to be by the beach.
Nice sea breeze from all of the rooms.
A must, if you're a fun of the '70s, w antique furniture, and grate collection of old dolls.
Very nice pool for when it's windy at the beach.
