Hotels with beach in Crete

The hotel is on the opposite side of a busy road from the beach but if you walk left from the road for a few minutes there is a pedestrian underpass and there are bus stops right outside the hotel to take you to Chania and Rethymno

The bus stop is pretty close by, making daytrips within comfortable reach and it's only a five to ten minute walk to the beach. Alltogether the whole experience has been great

Staff decent and food completely acceptable. The main thing to be aware of is the proximity of the National road, and the fact you have to cross Tia very busy road to get to the beach or the bus stop

A smaller hotel with beautiful and clean rooms. The food is very varied and tasty. ) Very friendly and helpful staff. Elton from the hotel restaurant, a very nice person, as well as his family who also work in the hotel

We spent a week at the Delfina ART hotel. We are very pleased with the entire stay. The rooms are large, spacious and clean. I especially recommend the rooms on the first floor with a beautiful view of the mountains

It was walking, albeit a good 30-40 min, distance to town which was filled with cute cafes, shopping and fantastic dinner spots. The water was pristine, loungers comfy, beach bar perfect

Cute little hotel in the small town Plakias, walking distance to some excellent restaurants and supermarket. The absolutely best part was good breakfast and clean, calm environment

When checking out, personnel insisted it back even though it was full of our items. They gave us pienty of small plastic bags where we stuffed our items

This is a beautiful hotel with excellent, comfy beds, great staff and it's on the sea! The beach nearby is pebbly and it's a 25 minute walk to the old town - not a huge amount to do in the immediate area, but the hotel itself more than makes up for that!

The location is a bit far from Old town Rethymno a 30 minute walk but the local bus, walk or taxi will get you there fast. The upside is you are on the beach and have loungers and a semi private beach at your disposal

However, breakfast was included so no probs there. Enjoyed the varied buffet breakfast. Pool is small and on the roadside so noisy at times. Small beach area for the hotel but we had a lovely patio outside the room

Small boutique hotel outside of the hustle and bustle of old town with a private beach. Great restaurants within walking distance Prima Plora and their own Thalassa Seafood restaurant

Breakfast was very nice buffet with a large sweet and savoury selection including fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, very nice coffee. The lighting in my room is also very nice and thought out

The apartment had everything we needed with a very comfy bed and was cleaned daily with towels and sheets changed every three days

There are so many wonderful restaurants within walking distance, one of our favourites being only one minutes walk away. The Troulis is in an ideal position between the two bays with plenty of restaurants on either side

We had a wonderful stay at Troulis Apartment. The hotel itself is stylish, cozy, and very conveniently located. The hotel staff deserves a special mention – they are really friendly and attentive

However, this would not be an ideal location for anybody with mobility issues because of the steep hills and plentiful steps. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it

We had read previous reviews of people saying they lacked variety but considering we were there for two weeks we were highly impressed with both the variety and the quality of the food

The staff here are very welcoming and friendly. George, the manager, and his team took really good care of me and my family. Thank you! Unlike other posts, the pool wasn’t over booked and under utilized when I visited

Lovely quiet base to explore Crete. Room cleaned daily, towels replaced frequently, adequate kitchenette for occasional meals. 20 minute walk to Malia old town- we were impressed with Odas and San Georgio tavernas

Pyrgos Beach Hotel is a lovely, quiet, family-run hotel right on the coast. We loved our clean, spacious room with a balcony and side view of the sea - waking each morning to the sound of waves on the beach

East along the coast is a lovely walk to sandy beaches. The staff were super-helpful with suggestions of places to visit nearby

What makes this hotel special is the friendly staff and the location on the sea shore, with nothing between you and the sea. It's far enough away from the Malia *****, yet walkable to charming Malia Old Town

I just got home from this hotel and it was an absolutely amazing experience, a friend and I went for the week and the bar staff Alex and Angelos were incredibly kind, Sophia herself was lovely and extremely helpful when we had any problems always putting customers first, they treat everyone as a new friend it was an amazing welcoming experience I will definitely return, food was delicious and cheap...

Upon entering the Drossia Palms from the busy beach road in Malia you will find yourself in a beautiful, tranquil oasis

Close proximity to all of Malia’s nightlife, restaurants & beaches but you will feel like you’ve entered a completely separate resort as the well thought out surroundings, high specification rooms & of course the welcoming family ensure you have an excellent time! Highly recommend a visit to Nisos beach as well for a great cocktail & sunset views!

A big shout out to the security guard who made sure that guests were following hotel protocols. This hotel is set back from Malia's beach road so noise from surrounding bars and restaurants is minimal or not at all

The fabulous beach and top quality restaurant/bar (NISOS) is about a 1 minute walk from the hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my extended holiday here and will definitely be returning in the near future

We fell in love with the home made Tzatziki & Gyros! It's a beautiful location in the midst of the centre close to the beach and many restaurants

This is the 4th time I have stayed here, great central location for beach, shops, restaurants and bars. Family run hotel who are all very friendly and helpful. Love it here.

Centrally located in Stalis with pool and pool bar. Rooms with air conditioning and safe. Only a minute or two from the nearest Taverna and shops. The sea is just a few hundred metres away

The main bus route Malia to Heraklion passes a short distance away. I thoroughly recommend Irilena

Basic but very nice. Perfect basecamp for those who like to venture out. Close to shops, pubs and restaurants. Really loved eating breakfast on the balcony while watching the goats on the hillside in the mornings.

Location is superb, 4 or 5 truly wonderful restaurants on your doorstep in a quiet, beautiful little area, and you’re 5 mins stroll to the beach

The previous review that says you have to make your own bed is absolutely not true. Beds are made and towels changed every day apart from Sunday

This small, well designed hotel is ideally located and suited us down to the ground. The staff are so friendly and hard working and nothing is too much trouble for them

Bedding is changed on Saturday but the maids leave it neatly folded at the foot of the bed ready to use that night

Shower was great when we had hot water, which was intermittent, apparently that’s normal for the area. It’s genuinely at the top end of a 2/3 star hotel rating. Staff are wonderful, really friendly and helpful

The main road is awash with restaurants, tavernas and bars overlooking the sea. Regular buses, 5 mins away, go into Chania

The hotel is beach front with stunning views from the room and from the beach. Enough space for everyone at the beach and by the pool. The pool, the room, and all the open areas were spotless clean

The restaurant at the hotel by the beach offers a good choice of breakfast, something for lunch and cocktails- all tasty and of good quality. One can see that everyone is working hard and not stopping for a second

We had wonderful time lodging in the junior suite overlooking the pool area and Aegean. The staff was very attentive and the food was good here too. The beach itself is a bit rocky but easily overcome

The area has many restaurants including one that is part of the family ownership: it was excellent

From check-in welcome drink at the beach front bar until the very last minute, the attitude from every member of the team was so warm and friendly

The surrounding area is a classic tourist trap with corresponding low/average quality restaurants. If you just want a beach, then it is a good low budget option, especially for teenagers that want cheap alcohol

The room was cleaned daily, towels were changed every day, and bed linens every two days. The beach is ideal for families with children. The hosts are always on the property, and there are security cameras on-site

The location is perfect too - right on the beach with sunbeds reserved for guests and good tavernas and shops nearby

Zeta at the bar is cheerful, professional and makes awesome cappuccino! The atmosphere is delightful and the room is very comfortable, but the views, the pool, and a beautiful little beach make this a destination I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an affordable family friendly stay at one of the most beautiful Mediterranean destinations I've ever seen

Zorbas Hotel Beach Village is a little gem which lies on the beautiful part of the Akrotiri peninsula in Chania, unspoilt natural area with stunning views of the Cretan Sea and the unforgettable sunsets and located ideally right on a sandy beach of private land

Approximately 30 minutes from the centre of Chania, you enter a location which is peaceful, picturesque a serene setting but well worth a stay in these attractive single storey apartments

Most of the units are well proportionate, beds are of a good size, mattresses and pillows are comfortable and clean, well designed with gardens, paths, secluded sitting areas and BBQ leading to a wonderful pool area which is extremely clean and comfortable sunbeds and pool bar

This was truly a wonderful and surprising place. Aside from the beauty of the location (literally on the beach), the service was fantastic and the personal care was evident everywhere

Through a series of unfortunate events, I ended up in Chania with no accommodations

We felt right at home. The pools are fantastic, large, and always clean. Stavros beach is within walking distance, just a few minutes away. The staff is wonderful, always kind and ready to help with any need.

They have a huge pool which I did not have time to use. It’s a short walk (15mins) to the beach where there are a few restaurants. i had a fantastic meal down there

Great location (beaches are couple hundreds meters away left and right), secluded, away from crowds. Whole ambient is cozy and peaceful. Jenny and the staff were very pleasant and helpful

I spent one week at KriKri with my family last year and it was one of the most memorable and relaxing vacations I have had in a while! The atmosphere is relaxing, the rooms clean and very spacious, and the area even though it doesn’t have many things to do, offered such a calming and comfortable place to spend our vacation

And the people, such warm hospitality from Jenny and her family, and of course I can not forget the dogs, Molly and Sarah that welcomed us and send us on our way everyday with pets and hugs

Also our front door had a hole in it and our room had an ant infestation. We spoke to owner and some basic repairs were made during our stay

Rooms are spacious, well furbished, with modern bathrooms. We opted for self catering and we had every thing we need in the kitchenette

The Sundance apartments are in a prime position in the village of Koutouloufari. A five minute walk from the apartments brings you to the entrance to the main street where all the bars, restaurants and shops are situated

We had requested a high room prior to our arrival but was informed the booking from our agent only provided ground floor Accommodation. As they had room they upgraded us to a 1 one bedroom duplex which was fantastic
