Hotels with beach in Crete

We recently stayed for 14 nights and really liked the hotel. We didn't use the beach or pool so cannot comment on that

We had room 402 which was lovely and spacious for the two of us with a nice size balcony and bathroom. There is a safe at a cost of €4 a day and AC which was free

Brilliant hotel, stayed here 7 nights and no complaints whatsoever! Brilliant view, room was clean and staff were very friendly. Great location with lots of shops around within walking distance

We stayed in room 513 and the housemaid is a super sweet and warm and lovely lady, please send my greetings to her again and Kevin the young waiter in the restaurant by this message😄

Thank you for giving us such a big room with a balcony. We had a late flight home and the hotel still let us to use the pool and a shower room after we have checked out

Rarely writing reviews but this hotel is the best! I can tell, od course, just from my experience! Best hotel ever! It justifies every single money spent on it

The Adele Beach Hotel is ideally located with a 25 minutes bus (number 20) journey/ride away from the nearest historic town of Rethimno which literally has something to offer everyone but just remember to purchase bus tickets in advance from all local stores and shops at 2 euro per trip

The Adele Beach Hotel is centrally located near to the main high road with numerous bars, ATM's, supermarkets, coffee shops, restaurants and activity venues along with a pharmacy, hire car centres and a medical centre

would we stay at the Adele Beach Hotel again in the future. 100% yes! If you're toying with the idea to visit Crete in 2026 then seriously consider reviewing their website and book your accommodation asap

The hotel is set back and away from the main road so there are no noise or pollution issues. As for the Adele Beach Hotel itself. WOW! The hotel is shown as 4 star and they certainly deserve that rating

From the moment we arrived - staff were truly professional, smartly dressed, approachable, friendly, informative, accommodating, ready to assist and help to exceed all levels of customer service to ensure every single guests stay expectation were met

During our stay in Oct there was no evening entertainment at the hotel but there is an idyllic evening bar where guests played board games and playing cards to be utilised at your leisure

Also the kettle was not safe! You could not even touch it after it boiled, whatever the insulation was I had to use a towel to pick the kettle up! Also I would have liked a duvet just as an option

Check-in is via an app which is just stupid when you’ve provided 90% of the detail in advance for example. Rooms are quite good but dated somewhat and in need of new beds (a little on the uncomfortable side)

• I stayed half board during my stay and honestly the selection of food was wonderful and I liked that they provided traditional Greek food which was great to try

The lady who checked me in was super friendly and l liked that they actually took you to your room when you first check in that is a nice touch

Also just want to give a shout out to Julia the guest relations manager, such a lovely lady and very helpful when booking my excursion to Santorini

• Location is fantastic, you are literally a stone throw away from the beach and if you take a few minutes walk in the opposite direction you have no end of bars, restaurants and shops

We didn't stay at the hotel but visited the beach with its sunbeds and cafe pretty much everyday of our holiday

We’ve come here fore years and every year we come back to the beach at themis hotel. Kiki and sofia are always very friendly and welcoming. They offer the best service you can get. We are very happy to come back again

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really nice and came with a large variety of choices. The pool is relaxing and we really liked having the beach so close to the hotel.

For 2 sunbeds and an umbrella and table it was just 7 euros, amazing value, but what really made it for us were the two ladies looking after the cafe

Kiki and Sofia were amazing people and made our holiday truly memorable, so polite and caring, there politeness and customer service were second to none

I have stayed at multiple JW and Ritz hotels and the service here is at that level if not better. The hotel itself is immaculate. Our room was always super clean with fresh towels and sheets

Breads and pastries were to die for. Good location right in the middle of Hersonissos and just a few feet from the beach

I have read that some people were disappointed that the pool area was small, although to us it was perfect and you are only yards from the beach

We stayed at this hotel for 6 days and had amazing service throughout! They allowed early and late checkout for us as we had difficult flight times, called us multiple taxis to get around the beautiful island and were just helpful start to finish

The breakfast was perfect, so much choice! The hotel is well located with a huge amount of restaurants and bars on the doorstep, and lovely places like Koutouloufari and Stalis just a short distance away

There are also rental car agencies near the hotel where you can rent a car for a day and go hike Timios Stavros (the tallest mountain on Crete and another Unesco heritage site)

The only thing I would slightly improve is the hair dryer in the bathroom – it heats up quickly and doesn’t work that well, but it’s just a small detail compared to how great everything else was

The food was delicious, with lots of variety and rich local flavors – special greetings to Chef Fotis for the incredible meals. Everyone working here makes the experience even more enjoyable

I am happy and grateful for Dimitris and Dimitra for making me an exception for the coctail without alcohol. The other personnel shift could not make the drink without one ingridient

Children are particularly well looked after by the wide variety of food on offer. The hotel itself and surrounding areas were very clean and well kept

My stay at this hotel was truly amazing! The entire staff is incredibly kind, helpful, and always welcoming

It turns out that they actually do have an environmental friendly plan, but for some reason it wasn't brought to our attention clearly, so we didn't know how to avoid changing towels after every shower

Possibly the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. The facilities and the grounds are exquisite and the staff are above and beyond. The restaurant serves some of the most delicious food I have ever eaten.

The hotel's guest rooms are spread over a large area, some of which is uphill, which requires some physical fitness or assistance with golf carts (they call it "club carts") driven by staff members and provided at short notice

The understated elegance that fully takes at advantage of the natural views that come with this location is truly stunning. We truly appreciated the food and the service I this amazing spot

We absolutely loved our room (723) from which we could see the island of Spinalonga. The room included a huge bathroom, walk in closet and a good sized balcony

We didn't really use the beach, but there looked to be plenty of sun loungers. The beach is big pebbles so would recommend taking rubber shoes for getting in and out of the water

Beautiful hotel set up like a village right on the beach. Close to the old town and lots of places to eat nearby. Clean and super friendly and hardworking staff

It is located in Rethymno about a 35 minute walk from Old Town and the beach is across the street so it offers a beautiful view from their restaurant

I have so many wonderful things to say but I will start with the bartender Michael. He is extremely skilled at making drinks that are both delicious and aesthetically pleasing. He has a clear passion for what he does

We went middle’s march and even in the off season it was amazing! The hotel right in front of a beautiful beach with turtles protection, comfortable rooms with AC and no noise at all, an amazing food service in the restaurant, with friendly, attentive staff and our cat friend Manoli!

My stay at Grecotel Plaza Beach House was outstanding. The staff was extremely welcoming, and looked after me during all my stay. Maria and Vassiliki that offered hospitality at the first place

This may be attributed to several factors, including its limited room capacity, direct beach access (though not a private beach, with a daily fee of 6 EUR for a couple), and its proximity to the higher-priced regions of Rethimnon and Chania

The hotel itself is commendable, particularly its restaurant, and the service throughout the premises was consistently prompt. A recommendation would be to update the guest room towels

The location offers convenient access to the major cities and popular attractions such as Preveli Beach, Elafonissi Beach, and Balos Beach

Nice place, nice staff, great beach but boring Restaurant

During our recent stay in Crete, we experienced three distinct hotels, including two five-star establishments and one four-star, the Orpheas Resort

My mother had a smaller, more modern room, which she enjoyed. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful and the garden as well

The complex has several buildings with a few rooms each, so you don't feel crowded. The sea view rooms are right on the beach, those on the ground floor don't even need to use the door to get to

Everything was perfect ! From the bar to the buffet, including cleaning service and reception. The staff is smiling and pleasant no matter the time or location of the hotel. I honestly have nothing to complain about.

The beach in front of the hotel is a pebble beach, bring shoes for swimming. It is certainly not the most beautiful beach in Crete, but free deckchairs and parasols provided by the hotel are available

The hotel is positioned on the beach and the dining area is just inches from the sand, giving a magnificent view and a tranquil place to eat

Whilst there my mother in law slipped (yes they came on honeymoon only because we brought our wedding day forward a year 😂) the hotel was great with sorting doctors and getting her seen quickly staff were very attentive

Andreas the bar man is fantastic always welcoming in fairness all the staff are but he stood out from the rest. Loads of pools to chose from we had a swim up room and hardly used it because the sea is so calm

We will definitely be returning. If it’s pure relaxation you want this is the place. A bus stops right outside hotel to go into Chania takes about 40mins

This was our 2nd visit and we were welcomed like family ,everything was beyond expectation ,amazing accomodation, staff who more than go the extra mile ,food is outstanding, choice was fabulous , absolutely nothing to fault

He offered us an upgrade on our board which financially didn't really benefit us. We had to accept the situation as we had no choice. 45 and the move to it was smooth

After two wonderful stays in 2025, we've already booked for 2026. We can't wait to return to this resort. For us, it's one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean (…and we've stayed at many others)

A very very special hotel, with special staff and very special facilities. The food is exceptional, the drinks options fantastic and the upgrades in report for 2026 are total quality

There was multiple activities provided by the entertainment team daily for example aqua bikes, aqua gym and lots of ball games. The entertainment team spoke multiple languages such as French, Spanish and English

The staff are exceptionally kind, and the security is top-notch. Ostria is so wonderful that we plan to return every year as part of our Mediterranean summer itinerary

The beach and sea were very pleasant with beautiful clear sea. When we first stepped inside the hotel it felt calm and relaxing. The location was on the whole good although quite a drive from the airport and Heraklion

The beach is right next to the hotel, we got a sea view room, which was stunning to see everyday, really going to miss this holiday we had… they even liked our shit shirt night so many laughs, crazy golf and shops around, the staff was very helpful with places you wanted to go visit

Impeccable hospitality indeed, at Santa Marina Plazza! After a first time - last summer, now for a second time here : another pleasant surprise, the same quiet nice location, same very clean rooms, same smiling, nice and kind people everywhere : pool/beach bar (Niki), housekeeping, reception, restaurant

Everything in the hotel is great BUT we were told we had to stay in another hotel nearby for the first 2 nights due to an "air con failure"

We had the most amazing experience at this hotel. From start to finish- We could not fault the staff for their kindness and welcoming. The Rooms are very clean, made fresh bedding everyday and clean towels

Back in 2015 you could reserve a beautiful diner on the beach, now the beautiful ideea is almost forgoten. Overall the experience is nice, the beach and the see is amazing!

The rooms are good, with nice airconditioning, a nice view and a spacious bathroom. The staff is very helpfull, exept the restaurant personnel. The food is mediocre at best. Quite far from the beach.

Water in the pools is filtered all the time and the guys playing the music know their businesses. Chillout after lunch and live music after dinner. Very kind and smiling you the guests

Staff is extremely helpful and willing to make your state a nice experience. Food varies and also Greek specialities are prepared. Amazing views from the rooms and swimming pool

We liked the idea of going to the hotel's beach taverna for dinner and didn't find the evening walk a problem, although the hotel does offer a free minibus shuttle for those who would prefer a lift

Eva was so helpful in explaining the bus services so we went to Rethymno and Ponormo which were both lovely! Breakfast at the hotel was really good and we ate a la carte at the restaurant most days, the food was lovely and fresh and we loved it at lunchtime for a break from the beach and the views are incredible

Lovely family run hotel in a great location, easy to walk to the beach, supermarket and a few other restaurants nearby. Hotel was very clean and staff were so friendly

The food was Authentic and delicious we ate there every night, we planned to come back every year but Andrw became quite poorly and ended up with a kidney transplant,but I would recommend this beautiful place,it was family run back then ,no noisy holiday makers very peaceful and clean and if your looking for authenticity this is the place to go

(I would suggest that anyone who is considering a stay at the Thalassi Hotel uses Google Street View to 'drive' through the village. That way, you'll know exactly what you're getting and whether Sfakaki is for you

The view from the taverna was truly beautiful and could be seen from all tables. The evening buffet was simple but sufficient. As as vegetarian, I was pleased to find that there was always something I could eat

I can't say enough good things about Vergina Beach Hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations

Our flight got delayed and thus we arrived later than expected and the hotel offered complimentary breakfast for our stay which helped get our vacation back on track! Lovely restaurant along the beach front think it was called Mythos the one with blue table cloths at the side of pizza oven. Trips land train ok to blue lagoon but not worth the money. Local buses excellent service

The hotel was clean and well maintained throughout, including the pool and gardens. No issue with sun-beds either, there are plenty to go round. Plenty of variety at every meal time

We had a wonderful stay at Maleme Mare, right from the friendly welcome. The staff were friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble

The restaurants near the hotel had a huge variety of different foods & they were all great. However, none of that would stop me coming back to this little gem of a hotel, situated right on the beach in Agia Marina

Food in the restaurant is not something to write home about, but if you are on the beach, lazy to dress and go literally 2 small blocks to the main street, this restaurant is very helpful

it was on the ground floor, no steps or stairs. We had a room with disability access. Neither of us have great mobility. The room was cleaned every day, fresh towels every day too

Myself & my partner sent a fabulous 10 days at the Elia Marina Hotel. Firstly the staff, every single one of them was so friendly & helpful. They always had a smile to greet you

The room itself was spacious & very clean. Breakfast is buffet style with plenty of choice & some lovely surprises some mornings eg pavlova, spring rolls

yum The only thing that I think let the hotel down was the menu in the restaurant. I didnt think the selection or variety of food was great

Special mention to Michaela who welcomed us at our arrival, showed us all the place and gave us some tips; to Leandros who took care of our concerns, to Valentina and Claudia in the swimming pool and Eleni, Chara and Eva for the special evenings at the Buddha Bar, great team! Hopefully we will come back

The best and most luxurious hotel we’ve ever stayed at! We truly felt at home. everyone was so kind and dedicated. The food was of exceptional quality, and the entire experience was amazing

The rooms are spotless but more attention to refilling teas coffee and replacement of towels would be better than the little treats left

The hotel is great, but the service is amazing. The water are good and the beach is great, food is good but use the menu instead of the open buffet, it had great things like pesto pasta and grilled meat

A very smart hotel with excellent sea views and a lovely main swimming pool. You can have room with its own jacuzzi and garden, or one with a plunge pool or a share infinity pool

The bath by the bed and open plan wash basin is a bit odd, and if you do feel like having a bath, it would take an absolute age to fill
