Perfect location near to the beach, sea view and possibility to eat breakfast on the terrace is perfect! Rooms are outdated but the price is adequate.
Travelled to this hotel as a last minute escape. The poor gentleman that greeted me had to wait up as my flight and transfers got me to the hotel minutes before 3am
He was so friendly and welcoming despite the late arrival. I had a beach facing room and drifted off to sleep and woke up by the sound of the waves. Breakfast is adequate and varied. Something for everyone I would say
The hotel is central to the beach, marina, restaurants, supermarkets, tour operators for day trips, boat trips, a local bus, touring train. If you're thinking about visiting this amazing hotel
I would advise that you get a private transfer, especially if there are a few of you and you can share the cost. Apart from that, I'd highly recommend this beautiful gem of a hotel. For my first visit to Crete and Greece
For me the only negative was the transfer, in the early hours of the morning, when you just want to get to bed after your flight, which took well over an hour
Nice small hotel with a clean comfortable rooms, a pool and restaurant both with sea view. It is located on the coast and has a nice sandy beach. Sunbeds by the pool were comfortable
It was quiet and not too crowded at the end of the high season, a perfect time to relax and enjoy the sound of the waves. The breakfasts were quite good, but some of the dinner dishes were not very tasty
Great location, friendly staff, private beach, best house wine and last, but not least, quiet and clean! Food also available, gyros is great!
Rooms are not sound proof and sometimes you may hear the neighbors; also, in the mornings most likely shower water is not so warm, but it’s common for all accommodation sites in the area
Booked on line with ease and dropped in on way back to airport. Staff were lovely and super helpfull. Alison a Scottish lass looked after us during beach stay while at the hotel and is a great member of staff
Would 100% recommend this place to friends or family who are wanting a nice break with beach access
Great hotel..the room's are very clean..
the location of hotel it's almost nearly to the beach..
We loved it here!! ❤️ breakfast was lovely, freshly pressed orange juice, lovely coffee, the staff and the owners so lovely, really clean rooms, netflix option, air conditioning worked flawlessly, very quiet, great sleep, good bed
We came here last year and this year. What a friendly family run hotel. It is absolutely squeaky clean, spotless. Breakfast is great, air conditioning. Very comfortable with mini fridge, hot showers. We love it here.
It’s located a little far from paleiochora , you definitely need to rent a car , cuz there is not a bus station near the hotel. Breakfast and personal are good
They don’t have wash machine you need to go to city for laundry
Stayed at Villa Sonia for middle two weeks in June. Lovely accommodation everything you could want with Lovely sunrise views, right by the sea. Cleaning and towel change every other day
The apartment has Air Conditioning which was quite welcome as it started to heat up as the week went on. Room clean and towel change every two days is ideal as well
Absolutely wonderful both staff and accommodation fabulous lovely comfy bed, wonderful sunrise 🌅 to see every morning from the fabulous balcony again with nice furniture beautiful place to eat breakfast We will definitely stay again next time in Crete
The lady running it and the cleaner were really nice and friendly, they were on hand in case you needed them without being obtrusive. The bathroom is a good size with a great shower which was warm and strong
A place to truly relax, clean room, magnificent sea view, pleasant welcome, Despina is attentive and can recommend interesting places, personally I am very satisfied, I highly recommend it 👌👍👍
(three of us) The lift is small but works so even people with mobility problems wouldn't find it an issue. Next time we go back to Hersonissos we will definitely book in Villa Sonia again
Sometimes we have stayed at the hotel and even if we are staying somewhere else, we always make time to go eat here. The lovely staff, good food and great ocean views make it worth for a visit
The new room has a very comfortable bed, but the bed in the older room might be a bit too narrow, but we slept well. It is next to the beach, which is a plus, and it is in the centre of the town
We were fortunate, and they went on and beyond their duties to help us. Further to it, the location of this hotel is perfect for exploring the Chania, the western beaches and the southern one
Each of the famous beaches is around 45-90 minutes. Ideal location as a base camp. If I have to come back to Crete, I will stay in this hotel
The food in the restaurant is excellent. It is as nice or even better than in town. The family who runs it is top! Super friendly and nice. They gave us the best advice we could ask
Thank you for the years of good experiences to the staff. I can definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay or eat at the area!
We stayed a week at Kaissa Beach, we were pleasantly surprised the hotel has recently been refurbished and looks better in person than the photos
Our first time in Crete and we stayed at Kaissa Beach. Very nice for kids ,helpful and friendly staff ,plenty oft space for sunbathing round the pool , and good prices for cocktails at nicht
The good points : very quiet just before season, lovely restaurant staff, great view from room, spacious rooms with balconies, dining with the view, close to the beach, small hotel/ apartments
The bad points:
Towels changed only once a week , bedding not changed at all, cleaning staff really horrible, food absolutely the same every day (although hot meals are not bad at all)
Hotel is old and you can see that not a lot has been spend on maintenance. There is no option of double bed. There are always two single beds put together. Bathrooms are dated but clean. Some rooms have unpleasant smell
There is a local cockerel waking up just after 4 am every day, neighborhood dog that barks most of the day and night but when it's quiet you can hear waves and crickets. All together you getting what you have paid for
The location is nice, with a calm beach right in front cause the water is protected by rocks to slow the sometimes wind-blown sea. The wifi could perhaps be a little stronger. The view tops everything off though
They also have a small private beach with trees where u can hide during noon. Very quiet place and a plethora of taverns where you can eat and watch the sunset nearby. They also have parking available
Amazing place - very nice room, beautiful sea view, highly recommended 😎
The option for a queen bed is nice, especially because it’s an actual queen bed and not two doubles stacked next to each other. The bed was very comfortable. The service is super friendly
Super Hotel. We had everything we needed. Calm room. Good beds. Nice ocean view. Simple but lovely breakfast. Spacious balcony. It's a nice area with less traffic. We can recommend it.
I can’t speak for the breakfast, because I usually didn’t get up early enough for it, but the breakfast next-door at nikos on the rocks serves breakfast all day, and is very good
Excellent location right on the beach in the centre of the resort but wasn't noisy. Staff were very helpful, friendly and hard working
The wonderful breakfast they serve in the morning really sets you up for a day exploring this lovely part of Crete. In the coming days the hotel taverna right on the beach will also be open as the weather hots up
We were visiting Plakias for the first time, our requirements were simple, a hotel close to the beach, a clean room with a sea view and a comfortable bed. The Alianthos delivered all this and more
I've just returned from a wonderful stay at the Alianthos Beach Hotel/Anthos Apartments. I have visited this family run hotel a number of times over the past 15 years and it never disappoints
Great hotel in Plakias
Great stay in the middle of Plakias beach.
Very comfortable, nice sea view, great breakfast - all very good.
With recent renovations including the seaside restaurant right by the wonderful Plakias beach it just gets even better
Decent sized pools, could be abit bigger though. The actual location is not the best, its just okay. Kinda on the outskirts from the city centre. The actual beach is also not really a beach
Its pretty terrible as its not a beach with proper normal sand. You'd imagine a resort with the name "beach" would include a better beach experience, but it is what it is
This hotel had a great location right next to the beach. We only had a few metres to walk to take a swim in the sea, and it was easy to travel to and from with public transport
Very high quality food in the buffet. Nice pools with plenty of free beds. Bus to chania stops right outside dor 2. Not safe to cross the road for kids! But that's not the hotels fault
We spent 7 days at Santa Helena beach in 2024, 13/7–20/7. The hotel is very clean, architecture is nice and we had a 2 room ground floor apartment with a terrace to the pool area and evening sun
Good and free sun beds both at the pool at the beach (if you buy from the bar which is easy)
The restaurant has a good variation of easier snacks, excellent pizza and burritos and good dinner dishes
the location of the hotel, quality of the meal and the friendliness of the staff in particular Minos who held the whole thing together, was exceptional. So on the strength of that we booked a week in October,
There’s a fabulous beach nearby with a nice beach bar but not much else at all in the vicinity hence why the car was a godsend
a real asset to Kavos Hotel Suites! Would highly recommend particularly as they also include a rental car so you can get to the local village of Stavros (lovely) and the many fantastic restaurants in Chania
we had a lovely week very well looked after, room was spotless, Restuarant meal was really good and Minos was once again the person that pulled it all together and was lovely to watch him show case the staff
The food in the restaurant was delicious, including a variety of local dishes and international ones. As wine lovers, we really enjoyed getting to know the local wines as recommended by their sommelier
The housekeeping staff was wonderful—always friendly and did a fantastic job keeping everything spotless. We loved the buffet breakfast each morning, which was delicious and had plenty of variety
Tropical Hotel has a taverna/restaurant and bar on the beach. The view on the gulf of Heraklion is phenomenal. The service is outstanding, the waiters and waitresses are kind, funny, helpful and welcoming
Perfect choice for amazing holidays!
Stayed at the hotel for 11 nights with my wife and we had a great experience! Nice, big and clean rooms, friendly owner, right next to the beach, with its restaurant at the entrance and only 12 minutes from the airport
We came here for a meal.. great location on the beach and choices for the whole family... absolutely brilliant service and worth a visit.
The restaurant- by the way- is the best in the whole area! Delicious food, large portions, low prices, fantastic cocktails and very friendly staff!
Our holidays couldn’t be better! We definitely recommend it and will visit it again!
The staff was not only welcoming, but also invested in satisfying the needs of each customer. Without a doubt I will return to Tropical next time I am in Crete, and will recommend them to all my friends and family
EXCELLENT FOOD AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!
Tropical Hotel Restaurant helped create an unforgettable Cretan experience. From the minute I was seated at my table I was given the highest quality of food and service
Really cosy place right next tp the beach. Mari and Stavros are most welcoming. Also all thr staff including bartners and waiters are very polite and helpful. Rooms are clean and well maintained
The room was spacious enough for two and was cleaned daily (so nice coming back to fresh sheets everyday after a hot day at the beach). It had everything we needed to make our 10 day stay comfortable
Their sunbeds are set under the shade of palm trees, creating the perfect tropical vibe for a relaxing day by the sea. The area is full of lovely restaurants and tavernas just a short walk away
We're staying here for few days and it was truly amazing. Location Is the best, close to beach, bars, restaurants, supermarket. The staff is helpful, nice And overall very sweet
A truly wonderful stay at Bali Seaside Sailor. It was paradise with the beach 5 meters away by foot and a gorgeous view of the beach and harbour from our balcony
We had a fantastic time at Bali Seaside Sailors! The location is great, right on a beautiful beach with soft sand and clear water
Kitchen sink area comes with tea towel, scourer and washing up liquid, again nice touch. Rooms are serviced daily and linen and towels changed regularly
There is a local climate tax of €3 per day in common with all other payments these seem to have to be in cash apparently their credit card machine is permanently broken! Limited car parking on site, which is covered and therefore protects your car from the worst of the sun’s heat, plenty of on street parking in the road
Twin beds, sofa, kitchenette with; fridge, kettle, single ring, microwave, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans enough for simple meals. I think there are some larger family rooms
Towels are not exactly soft and beds are somewhat firm! The hotel provides breakfast for an extra €8, we provided our own, but it looked good
The basin plug release in one room needed operating from below the sink, it was missing parts, on the second room the sink emptied with the plug in place. Plenty of hot water which never ran out and good shower pressure
Our, not very good, hire car cost €160 for two weeks, booked from the UK (Carjet) well in advance. Flat screen TV with some English channels. Good room safe, extra €2 per day
A salad bar and appetizers were offered as a buffet for dinner, and the main course was a daily changing menu. Numerous shops and restaurants can be found along the beach promenade
Just returned from a 15-day holiday at Hotel Ilios Chersonissos, together with my daughter. It is not a modern hotel, but everything you need is there and it is very clean
The reception staff, Ada and Lone, among others, are super friendly and helpful. For those who do not speak English, Lone is a godsend; she is Dutch and incredibly friendly and helpful
The swimming pool is also nice, and Nancy, the barmaid by the pool, is cheerful and very helpful. All in all, this hotel is highly recommended
Beach, shops, bars, restaurants are in very short distance
Nothing is too much trouble for them; they are always there for you. The restaurant staff is also extremely friendly
Really really good food for good prices!
nice service and the location is top!
We were here in the Restaurant and the beach lounges (not in the hotel) and it is so nice and food is super delicious!!
Would give 10 stars if i could
The hotel provide sunbeds for an extra fee, which we maybe were not expecting but it was totally fair and worth it. The breakfast buffet is simple but filling
That being said about the restaurant, the breakfast at the hotel doesn't have a lot of variation, and most food tastes like nothing. The location is right in front of the beach, and close to the strip
The beaches are better if you walk a bit further, but the view from the hotel is pretty great
When we first arrived, the service was phenomenal. We were early, and were provided luggage storage until the room was cleaned. We were also provided som breakfast
We have frequently been walking over to the "pub street". It's super loud and busy, so it's great to stay on the more quiet side
The staff at the Minerva gladly let us use some beds when we wanted a beach day (@ 6 days) as long as we bought some drinks. On our last day we stopped there for some lunch, a good couple of hours looking out to the sea
Right by the beach, top-notch service and spacious rooms (if you can, pick the sea view). Breakfast is monotonous which is expected for the price. 20 minutes to Chania by bus, great restorants in the vicinity.
Great food and service by the beach bar. My son is really gonna miss this place and the guy in the bar.
+ Great location on the beach, not crowdy. Large famiky room wit 2 balconies, both with the sea view. Close to bus stations for both directions. Young Christian very professional and friendly
We had lunch at the patio at Minerva restaurant, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The setting is beautiful with a serene sea view, the food was very good with fresh local ingredients, and the service was outstanding
It's all fresh food freshly made, including the meat, fish, veggies, fruits,. You really get quality for you money spent. On the other side, the service, the waiters, the manager, the cook, are very friendly and helpful
Very kind staff and amazing location. Going to the beach is a 2 minute walk, very comfortable! Staff is really kind and respectful. Also pretty good food with an big variety too.
Would strongly recommend.
I was at Aeolos Beach relaxing on the beach and drinking beers,it is the best place to stay and enjoy your holiday with perfect staff.I will definitely go back again.
Excellent choice, family friendly easy access to the village! Great hospitality! Many thing to do from sea activities to gum and a chill relaxed night at the lounge area !
There is a second pool for children, but not many used it, sadly. Board basis is bed and breakfast, but guests were forbidden from having their own food at the pool area, as there is a beach bar selling drinks and snacks
There are beach actvities (paragliding, banana, sofa rides etc plus jet ski), all at a cost, as these are all open to the public. We enjoyed the small, but well maintained pool area
There is a beach with loungers, but although part of the hotel, one is expected to pay 10€ each for the priviledge of enjoying them
Hotel is right on the beach, pool, breakfast area and the rooms are immaculate. Cleaned and changed the sheets and towels everyday and staff were incredibly friendly.
We had a wonderful experience at Emi Seaside! We felt very welcome, the room was clean and had a nice view of the beach. The breakfast was so fresh and delicious! The location was perfect
What makes the place truly special is George and his family – always warm, attentive, and ready to help with any detail or unexpected situation. Their hospitality made our holiday unforgettable
Wonderful stay, great location, with welcoming and helpful hosts. I booked one night for my family, and stayed a couple of nights as a solo traveler, and it was ideal
Great private beach, comfortable and clean rooms, delicious breakfast and tiropitas, bar access for the pool or the beach. Great place to hang out, also close to the airport, Knossos, and the old city
He pointed us to some very good dining options in the area and his advice was thorough and accurate. Ammoudara reminds me of a budget Florida beach town: a little crowded, a little disappointing
Also i missed a scissors, and a towel to dry the dishes, but you can buy those in the shops that are everywhere. The staff is nice and friendly, but we weren’t around a lot. Swimmingpool is not big, but satisfying
The hotel is in a very good area with amazing beach front, near restaurants and shopping area. The food is very basic, not tasty, boring English breakfast… No entertainment, lots of old people
The room is old, rusty but I give 4 🌟 for the pool area and the beach
Pool great and staff lovely ,Vicky really nice and helpful ,check in fantastic with the greeting from Genxi (also bar man) who just made our holiday the craic was brilliant with his banter and is a great asset to the family run business
Checkout with lambis was very cold and he seemed to only be concerned that we paid our bar bill , no thankyou for your custom or ask if we enjoyed our first stay at his apartments
apartments very spacious and clean, cleaners every other day. Could have more plugs, no sockets for hairdryer in bedroom and a toaster in kitchen area would be a good addition
