Plaka Beach Resort in Vasilikos

Our stay was great. The crystal clear water, the sandy beach, the wonderful music, the nice sunny rooms and last but not least the attentive and hospitable service. We felt like home!
We will be your guests again!

Apartments not the ones in the pic ( unless you upgrade) ours was further back on the road. Quite small but fine for what we needed. Shower was nice and the bathroom revamped. On the nicest spot of beach up this stretch of Banana beach in my opinion. Not a place for vibe loving younger gen, the village is small with only a couple of tavernas and 1 shop. Perfect for a relax and chill. Food good in the restaurant - Pre paid breakfast cold plate a bit random and amusing. You eat what you get or leave it but it was fine for us. Always had bread with preserves and fruit too. A problem if you have allergies though as all together on the same plate. Bar man Spiros great. You will probably benefit from car hire as taxis have to come from Zante Town so makes them more expensive and hit & miss. They lost my own towel on a laundry exchange and despite it being a different colour it was never found!

Do not listen to the negative reviews.

Let’s start with what could’ve been better (which is not much):
-The shower was a bit small, and the cable was a bit too short, but it was alright.
-You need to pay extra for airconditioning, which I really recomment. It can get really hot.

What was good:
-Super nice staff. I have seen some negative reviews about the people who work here, especially about the man who serves the breakfast. This man was actually really nice to us. Sometimes he was busy, so he gave short answers that can be interperted as rude, which it really wasn’t. Every staff member was really nice to us!
-The breakfast was fine! We got 2 sorts of fruit, and a basket of bread with jam/honey and butter everyday. Sometimes we got a cooked egg, other times baked. Bread with ham and cheese, and sometimes bacon. We also got a slice of cake every day. We got orange juice and coffee/tea. For me it was more than enough.
-We had lunch here and it was good!
-Location is beautiful. Our apartment was a few minutes walking from the beach. You do have to pay 20 euros for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella, but it was worth it. This way nobody could claim it with towels.
-Cleaning service was good. Our room got cleaned everyday, and we got new towels every 3 days. Trash got emptied and floor was clean.

The rooms are good. The shower cable was a bit to short so it was a little bit akward turning around in the shower. I would say it is needed to purchase the airconditioning because it could get very hot. The wifi did not work for me though.

Breakfast is fine, the bread and the fruit is good. The location where you have breakfast is nice with a view over the beach. The service there is good.

The location was good for us, not too busy while still plenty of things to do nearby. If you want to explore the island the drives are not super long. A bit more than an hour to reach the north tip for example but it are beautiful roads to drive around.

We have stayed at Plaka beach resort 6 times and yet again had great holiday Spiros Andreas their mom and dad made us very welcome. also all the staff working for them were amazing. the sea view suites were beautiful spacious comfortable and exceptionally clean beautiful views .a very good breakfast and restaurant food very good with daily specials most definitely the best quality food in the area .its a great area for beach walks and country side walks a beautiful place to stay We will definitely be returning again next year if not before Thank you all at Plaka Beach Resort Brian and Cindy

We have just had the most relaxing , peaceful holiday at Plaka Beach . The hotel is right on the beach and a lovely sea breeze keeps you cool , which i can imagine will be very welcoming during the hotter months. We were lucky enough to have a luxury beach suite which was incredible . But some of the rooms and studios the rooms are split in another building just by the entrance .Breakfast was served at your table which was lovely in its self but so was the breakfast . We ate at their taverna everyday , there are specials most nights which are cooked by "Mum" and the Stifado was delicious . Food was very reasonable and beautifully cooked . Sunbeds are free on the grass but paid for on the beach .There is a small supermarket just at the entrance to the hotel which was just right for picking up some crisps and nibbles to eat in the room. It was the most wonderful holiday and will definitely be going back . Everyone was so lovely , they couldn't do enough for you . Thanks to Andreas , Spiros ,Kostas, Mum and Dad such a wonderful family and to the lovely cleaner I think her name was Caroline ( forgive me if I have got that wrong ) but she was so sweet . This hotel is a must for a quiet relaxing holiday , we didnt hire a car which some may benefit from ,but driving on holiday is a no from us . We will definitely return

Great place! The room was clean and spacious, with new towels and sheets everyday! Good food in the restaurant and the beach close by is amazing. The music played by the owner was great and was really enjoyable. Had a great time at the Plaka Beach Resort. A good recommendation for sure!

Just returned from 2 very restful weeks at Plaka Beach Resort. Very nice environment, staff, food, and the small beach is amazing. Lots of comments in other reviews around sunbeds! I can say it was not a problem for us - as residents you have the choice of a large lawned area which is slightly raised above the beach making for a nice view. We never struggled to get a sunbed during our stay. The business is definitely on the ball in terms of ensuring that people pay for sunbeds on the beach - when you explore the other local beaches and see the 4-5 rows of tightly packed sunbeds, you'll be grateful that they tightly protect the more relaxed setup at Plaka (my opinion). A lot of the negative comments are from non residents complaining about having to pay for beds, so factor that into your considerations if you're looking to stay here. We usually try to eat at a different restaurant every night when away, and there are a number of options in the area, but to be honest in terms of both the food and the view, we would probably just dine at Plaka every night if we went back. Koukis restaurant over at Agios Nikolaos also worth checking out. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking to really relax, not have to particularly travel to enjoy their holiday (I didn't drive once), and just enjoy the sun, sea, food and drink. The other residents were all also relaxed and pleasant, which is important when staying in a hotel for 2 weeks! When we return to Zante, we would not consider staying anywhere else, thank you Spiros, Andreas and family for looking after us!
