La Riserva di Castel d'Appio- Charme & Relax in Ventimiglia

This lovely family owned hotel, is absolutely beautiful. The views are stunning, and no photo can do it justice. You must see them yourself. I highly recommend staying here with your loved ones or family. This place is romantic, quiet, beautiful, and peaceful all in one. It was exactly what we needed for a short relaxing holiday. The drive is worth it! This place has a pool, free parking, great restaurant service, and amazing staff. I would certainly recommend coming here if you are looking to relax and decompress.

The hotel is like a page from the history books! So unique and rich with character. The woman at the front desk was so friendly and incredibly helpful in pointing us in the direction of so many interesting and beautiful sites. It’s out of the main town area but easily accessible by taxi and the view is spectacular and worth the drive. staff were gracious and welcoming.

This is one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed at. A Family run hotel lead very professionally by Antonello, who runs it seamlessly with an amazing group of staff who made us feel like part of the family from breakfast through to dinner. The hotel is 100% what you would expect if you are seeking an authentic Italian experience. From the beautiful decor, the culture and the delicious freshly cooked, locally sourced Italian food. There is a real effort made to the little attention to detail that makes a stay very special. Slippers in the room, shower caps and other little bits of toiletries in the bathroom that add the feel of a special treatment. In the bar you can see a staff member hand polishing all of the glassware to make them sparkle so that you can enjoy your beverages in sparkling clean glasses. The rooms are pristine, beautifully dressed and very comfortable. The hotel has spacious car parking, a gorgeous terrace with restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a fabulous pool and sun lounge area. There is no need to leave the hotel as all of your holiday needs are catered for- even for children. Nothing is too much for the staff- if you ask for anything they will do their best to accommodate your every need. The whole experience was priceless- we were welcomed with open arms and made to feel like the very first guests to have walked through the door! And… the view! The view is one of the most instagramable, picturesque and amazing vistas because the hotel lies high in the mountains in Ventimiglia meaning you enjoy a stunning view of the Italian, French and Monaco riviera. Take the longer route up the mountain through the town of Ventimiglia and before you know it you could be sitting out on the terrace at night with a glass of wine, a good book and enjoying the glittering lights of San Remo, Ventimiglia, Menton and Monaco below you! It really is a romantic and fairytale setting. Perfect for families, couples or with a group of friends. An escape from a busy life to be able to just slow down and enjoy time to unwind, relax and be looked after by a group of very special staff who make Hotel La Riserva di Castel d'Appio such a special place to stay at. We stay here for one night, in our way to Toscana. Amazing view. Be ready for a challenging drive up the hill to the hotel. Room comfortable, would like to have a bigger size, but it's OK. Be ready that bathroom small, it's traditional for italian style.
Food in restaurant was good, fresh and tasty. Perfect spot if you want stay in quite pace for couple of days.

This is the fifth time we have stayed here and each time we have loved every minute. The kids love the pool and the dinner is excellent served on the patio with such amazing views. Breakfast is very good too. The staff are so friendly and help make your stay even better. We just wish we could stay longer.

This hotel has the most amazing views. We had the family suite which was spacious and great for our family. The restaurant was good for dinner. I would contact the hotel before you arrive to find the best way up the hill. Our navigation took us up the steepest, narrowest way and it was a bit harrowing.

This was a quiet, relaxing friendly and high quality hotel. It had an amazing view from our balcony, and daily breakfast on the terrace was a joy all of its own. I will definitely be returning again. The staff were also very warm and friendly. X

Old World Charm
I can’t say enough about the kind, accommodating and wonderful people that keep this place in excellent condition. The food is delicious, but make a reservation for a spectacular view. It’s an old world charm kinda vibe.. If you are looking for a place to chill & relax - I highly recommend this lil dive..!
