Hotel Posta in Ventimiglia

Great value for its cost.
The location of the hotel is really great, close to everything. 5 minutes to the train station from where it takes 15 minutes to Sanremo (Italy), 30 minutes to Monte-Carlo (Monaco) and one hour to Nice (France).
The beach is also close by as well as the supermarkets, restaurants and the coffee shops.
The rooms ate really clean and neat.
Even the breakfast was good for this price, freshly baked cakes, pizzas etc.
There is even the flexibility in taking the breakfast in the morning.
The host is always welcoming and nice.

We were really happy with our stay!

To start with the positives: the room was very clean and had a balcony, hotel and surroundings were quiet and seemingly safe, and the location was perfect, very close to the train station and the beach.
There was AC in the room.
Also, breakfast was included in the price.

Unfortunately room facilities were somewhat poor. In the bathroom there was an old hair dryer, watch out for it because if used a bit longer, the handle gets very hot and it’s easy to burn yourself. There was no body lotion of any kind, but on the plus side there were lots of towels.
What we felt the most though was the lack of a fridge (it was listed on Booking, but unless it was extra hidden it wasn’t there).
There was also a safe, but there was no key for it (although we didn’t look for it so maybe it was hidden somewhere).

The worst thing was probably the check-in. Before arrival we had to upload our IDs on a website which was a little weird because it’s usually done on the spot or through a private message.
But when we got there, the lady at the reception didn’t speak any English, which is crazy to me considering this is not just any hotel, but one in a rather touristy city and 8km from an international border.
When we somehow managed to communicate, she took our IDs again, took photos and sent God knows where, even though we had already uploaded them before.

It was a good place to stay for a good rest day after a bikepacking trip! They have a place to keep safe your bicycle and supermarket and restaurant are just in the next road!

The rooms were relatively clean and comfortable. The checkin process was a bit convoluted, and we had to upload documents into a sketchy website.
The room locks with a code felt a bit weird safety wise. Not sure if they actually change the codes when you check out.
Breakfast was merely OK.

Good location, amazing staff.

Room was clean although spartan, included breakfast generous, staff was amiable, and the location central. Parking is within two blocks and the walk to the Friday Market at Giardini Publici is pleasantly close by.
