Hotel & Spa Relais Freedom Club in Massa Lubrense

We stayed at Freedom Relais Hotel & Spa in Sorrento from 1–11 October 2025 for our honeymoon and unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We paid extra for upgraded rooms and facilities, but what we received did not match what was advertised. ❌ Room Issues Our first room (204) was sold as self-catering with a private jacuzzi bath, but there was no kitchenette – just a fridge. We couldn’t even make a coffee. The jacuzzi bath didn’t work because the plug didn’t fit and water pressure was too weak to fill it. Strong sewage smell from the bathroom drains. No proper storage space at all. We were moved to Room 101, said to be an upgrade, but: The hot tub was broken and wouldn’t heat, so again we couldn’t use the facility we paid extra for. Shower pressure was still very poor. Bed was uncomfortable and the TVs were not smart TVs as expected for a "spa hotel." ❌ Restaurant & Food The breakfast was extremely poor. Nothing suitable was available for guests with allergies. Bread contained egg, cross-contamination was an issue, and utensils were shared between meat and egg dishes. Dinner menu was unclear – the only thing my husband could eat was a cheese pizza, so we didn’t eat in the hotel again. ❌ Hotel & Spa Facilities We were given an outdated bus timetable, causing us to miss transport twice. The jacuzzi in the private spa area felt slimy, the water was cloudy and frothy – did not feel hygienic or safe. The main pool had visible green algae/scum around the edges. Noise levels were terrible – dogs barking, car horns, scooters and fireworks late at night until 2am. Definitely not the relaxing spa retreat advertised. We contacted the hotel a week ago to resolve these issues before posting publicly, but received no response. For the price paid and for such an important occasion, this hotel completely failed to deliver. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would give 0 stars if possible.
