Hotel Aphrodite in Rome

Ps : For the Ladies or Men that has an important event coming up and you’ll need extra hand for your makeup, hair , or stylist .. Don’t give into the 4stars logo. There are more hotel attached to the station and same street.
If by mistake you booked for longer days without checking the reviews. Cancel immediately.

We were 2 ladies lodged in the hotel for 2nights, the next day i had an hair stylist that needed to come fix my hair in my room ( btw I’m with 4c hair)
The front desk guy refused my visitor from coming with me to the room, i asked for the reasons WHY . He responded with “ these are the law of Italy for a while now forgetting I’m also Italian living in Milan irrespective of my skin colour. After back and forth asking him to provide the policy to back up his claims, which he never provided .
He switched again and said it’s Rome policy and if i wasn’t contented with the way he’s attending to me, i should call the CARABINERI ..
Meanwhile he claims he’s the manager and front desk after i requested to talk to the Manager.

3rd time i asked again for the policy. He finally said it’s the hotel policy which was never provided neither do they have it online for Clients to see before booking.. at the end i was told on a phone call that was finally made when i wasn’t backing down on a MISOGYNIST IRANIAN FRONT DESK i was asked to bring my hair tools to the reception and a chair would be provided to make my hair..

My hairstylist left in anger and my weekend was totally ruined by this hotel…

I recently had a disappointing experience at this hotel due to the unfriendly and unhelpful front desk staff, particularly the gentleman from Iran. Despite our polite requests, he was cold and provided misleading information, making our stay unpleasant. Even requested for a manager on duty he claimed to be the manager, but someone spoke with my friend over the phone However, I must commend the kitchen and waitstaff for their exceptional service - the breakfast was amazing! The rest of the front desk team were also very helpful, but unfortunately, the behavior of one staff member overshadowed our overall experience. It was so bad that it made me assumed I was being treated that way because i am a woman as I saw how he spoke and handled the male guest differently and politely.
There was a statement he made which I find very offensive.
You can even confirm from the Haitian lady as she tried to talk to him but he was adamant and firm on his words.
Hope management addresses this issue to ensure all guests receive the excellent service they deserve.
I wondered how this is been categorized as a 4 star hotel (else it’s because of other staff services not the Iranian guy)

Not a great experience. Had made a prior reservation but they didn't have my name when I got there. Asked for my passport and made me wait with my bags while they filled in the details (I was tired, would have preferred if they made a copy and did it in their own time). Was asked to pay upfront which I have no issue with but would not let me pay with my phone, wanted a physical card, which I don't mind but the tone was awful. Had to sign a few papers, asked what they were, didn't bother to explain what I was signing. For the 7 euros city tax, they wanted 8 if I pay by card because the card has a commission or something. How is that my problem?

Didn't stay since I felt unwelcomed from the moment I arrived.
