Hotel Canali, Portofino Coast in Rapallo

The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The rooms are clean and safe, but a little older with chipped paint etc. the breakfast was delicious and it was a gorgeous morning on the terrace with a cappuccino. We had some trouble getting there because the public transportation doesn't run after a certain time and our flight had been majorly delayed, so be prepared for a big taxi fee if you're arriving very late. But otherwise the location is wonderful.

A charming typical hotel where the true gem is the staff: they will go out of their way to accommodate you and make your stay both a comfortable breeze and unforgettable.

Clean and tidy. The photos are out of date in many of the reviews. I think the hotel has transformed since many of the reviews were written.

The breakfast is really good and staff are really nice.

The only thing which could be improved would be the wifi being not the best signal. On the other hand it forced me to read my book and zone out of the world a bit so in a way not such a bad thing.

To the people who say it is a road linked to down and lots of fumes. You can walk through a park to get to town eithout seeing a car almost. It is safe in the park too. Lots of pensioners playing board games in the park long after sun had set.

If you want to get to town quicker then go the road way. It's not too far to town. A nice walk with lovely sun sets. Maybe a 10 or 15 minute walk.

Fair room, slightly hard beds, weird smell in the room throughout the stay. On the last day the room was filled with an unbearable fart smell

Excellent location and accommodations
We drove in from the Genoa airport and needed to make sure the hotel offered parking. The staff was incredibly helpful, accommodating, and communicative. It was easy to find and even though we arrived before check in they had space that allowed us to freshen up and store our luggage so that we could keep to our schedule as we were in town only for one night and had a lot to squeeze in. The room was HUGE! We traveled with our 2 teenage children so we chose the 2 bedroom 1 bath room and it was perfect. The hotel is a short 15-20 min walk to the Rapallo train station where you can easily purchase an on/off pass for the family to visit Cinque Terre. Breakfast was delicious with so much variety and the ambiance was beyond lovely. I would highly recommend Hotel Canali and will visit again should we ever find ourselves back in that region.

A very nice place, we came along by coincidence searching for a room on our way to Rome. It was late in the evening, the lady at the reception was extremly friendly, nice and big room, excellent breakfast, good parking, all in good value for money!

Comfy bed, good white cotton sheets, decent pillows, aircon and safe. Cool marble floors, the room was light and airy. Nice view across to Portofino. As far as I recall, no tea or coffee making facilities. Parking. When you arrive take luggage to the lift from the door to the side of car park on the ground floor, not up the steps to reception. park prettily. Good bathroom, hot strong shower, fluffy towels. Good breakfast. Parking. Easy walk into town for dinner or beach. Pleasant staff. English spoken. Phew! Cost average. Nice Aperol Spritz! Ask receptionist- it is her special recipe. No restaurant, but you can order up pizza to the hotel to eat on the terrace and other restaurants are close by. Jacuzzi in garden.

This s a wonderful hotel! A ten minute walk to city center and the coast. Room was spacious, clean and bathroom was a nice size. I would like to personally thank Alessandro and Sofia for their warm welcoming personalities! We loved staying here and hope to come back again sometime!
