Hotel Gutkowski in Syracuse

This is a really special hotel overlooking the sea. It has real character and warmth, far removed from the anodyne typical hotel. The rooms are furnished in an eclectic individual style, the bedrooms are comfortable, the breakfast is gorgeous (you can also sit outside). There is a lovely terrace on the second floor to sit and have a drink or breakfast, there is a comfortable and welcoming room on the ground floor with a selection of books. All the spaces have been carefully considered and decorated in a unique style. Even the crockery is special. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and very happy to guide you on where to go, what to do and how to get there. I am delighted that the Times in the UK reviewed it which is how I came to be fortunate enough to stay there. Would highly recommend.

The service was over and above, the breakfast was bountiful and delicious, and the location was amazing... I could only stay for one brief night, but what a tasteful and beautiful B&B!! And the dinner on the rooftop terrace was breath taking! Again the quality of service, food and the view- Stunning. Wish I could have stayed for a week!

Booked this last minute. Had a lovely stay. Room was small but comfortable, had everything we needed. Everything was very clean. Staff were helpful and breakfast was good. There was a very large group there when we were, which made the breakfast room a bit busy but we were in no rush! Charming a quirky hotel in the very heart of Ortigia.

Wonderful location. Clean rooms. Very good place if you want to stay in front of Sea. They serve good breakfast.

Perfect location in discovering the marvels of the island of Ortigia . Big spacious airy rooms with good bathrooms . Fabulous breakfast and friendly staff what else could you ask for .

This place deserves ALL the stars. Loved it. The lobby made me want to do a photoshoot to redesign my website. The breakfast was divine. Also just loved meeting all the creative types hanging out there. What a GEM! So glad I managed to book this for my friends and I during our Sicily road trip. Would stay again without hesitation. To be fair, there was an annoying yappy dog down the hallway, but when I told the management, I know they called them and tried to deal with it. (Who brings a dog on vacation then locks it in the room all day barking non-stop?!) Loved the spacious bathrooms and how it's right on the ocean and you can literally just cross the street and hop in the sea. It was a highlight of my trip to Sicily, for sure. I just love the beautiful old building the place is set in too, so perfect.

Centrally located with long term parking only 200m away. They will register your car for access to the ZTL zones avoiding fines.Very friendly helpful staff . Good sized clean rooms with large bathrooms and great showers. Has a vegetarian restaurant and breakfast. This was my second visit to this hotel.

We booked this hotel from recommendation, and I am so glad we did!! We stayed in the “annex” and from other reviews I was nervous but it was a lovely stay! The room was spacious, had two balcony’s, a fan and AC. The breakfast was AMAZING, so fresh and the staff is very friendly. I also like how close to the beach/swimming the hotel is. It is right on the coast and just a couple minutes walk to a few popular swimming areas. They let you drop your bags early, and have a late check out. Would recommend to anyone staying in Ortigia!
