The location is perfect for travellers with a car, the hotel has a huge parking lot. The walking distance to the old center gate is 10 minutes. The rooms are not recently renovated but they were clean, air conditioning working perfectly. We handled the communication and check in with Alia, she is fluent in English also if you don’t speak Italian. She very friendly and responsive to requests. Hotel Stipino is a very good choice for a city trip to Lucca!

I’d advise you not to use this hotel. Years ago it was good but the current owner is unhelpful. Having paid for 3 nights B&B we were told breakfast was 4 to 5 minutes walk at a little bar. We were allowed one coffee and one croissant. We talked to the guy and said we were not happy but just got a shrug and refusal to do anything. The room was poor and bathroom shabby. We had to ask for toilet paper and one day the room was not serviced. I give one point for being in the right place and having private parking. My advice is to go elsewhere.

The hotel rooms are pretty and clear,compared to other 2 stars hotels,and they do speak english (wich could be helpfull).Also wothy a mention that they give you a map of the town and a quick guidance about the most popular and finest structures and restaurants :D

Like most places in Italy it is a challenge finding your hotel. Once found it was a very nice place. Our private bathroom which we misunderstood is a private bathroom down the hall. All in all a good place to stay.
