Agriturismo Poggiacolle in San Gimignano

A wonderful stay in a peaceful setting, just a 5-minute drive from San Gimignano, with beautiful views and a great location. The rooms were comfortable, and having both a kitchen and outdoor space made it feel relaxed and easy to settle into. The owners were friendly and welcoming, and breakfast was simple but just what we needed to start the day. It has a charming, understated feel — not about modern luxuries, but offering everything you need for a comfortable and authentic stay.

We had a very relaxing time here. Stefano and Daniela were very kind, welcoming and helpful. Their wines and olive oil are very good. Housekeeping was good. Since it is a winery, the accommodation is a bit rustic, but not too rustic. It was comfortable for our family that did not want a boring hotel. The bedding was very comfortable. The pool was fantastic and clean. Clothes washer for 5 Euros per wash with clothes line was useful. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because we expected to have a dinner or two on site, but they couldn't offer it this time, and because the breakfast was not as good as we hoped for Tuscany. It would be great if they could offer more variety and higher quality fruits and vegetables.

This was our second time staying at Poggiacolle Agriturismo and it never disappoints. The first was in March, which is a chilly time in Tuscany and the second was in May, which was glorious. The place is immaculate. The amenities are outstanding. It is the perfect agriturismo experience. Highly recommend.

A fabulous 3 night stay. This place is a postcard, amazingly beautiful looking over the Tuscan country side with a great view of the walled city of San Gimignano. Breakfast was quite good, a serve yourself spread of mostly traditional Italian fare. The conceirge services were spot on. Our reservation included a cooking class that was great fun. I highly recommend Agriturismo Poggiacolle.

We had an unforgettable stay at Poggiacolle Farmhouse during our visit to Tuscany. The cleanliness of the property was impeccable, and the service provided was truly outstanding. We stayed for three nights in between stops in Florence and Rome. It was the perfect break! It’s not large and flashy but rather quaint and home feel which we so appreciated. The hosts and staff became like family to us. We did the cooking class the first evening and it was great!!! We would highly recommend doing that if you are staying. From our stay it was a very easy drive to San Gemignano and Volterra which we visited in addition to some local wineries. We also enjoyed walking through the local countryside We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We had a wonderfull time in Poggiacolle! This is a great place with the most friendly people you will meet. Stefano is really friendly and helpfull, proud on what he is doing there with the agri and with his wines and olives. Daniela is always responding very fst and friendly to any questions we had and the cleaning ladies who come every day (very nice bonus) were also very accomodating. Our 6 person apartment is basically the best on the property ;-) Its ground floor with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Good kitchen and bbq outside. The magic is in the bedroom windows as from your bed you can see the "skyline" of San Gimignano. Then 2nd treat is the outside terrace. Again the best view of San Gimignano plus a very nice evening sun that settles behind the olive garden in front of us. Then there is a fantastic infinity pool with enough sunbeds and umbrella's for all guests, not to forget the great garden around, including the fenced part where our dog was able to walk freely around. We also had a very nice cooking lesson and great conversation with Deborah from Toscane di Gusto! We will do our best to come back with the rest of our family! Grazzi Mille a tutti ***** PS Sorry Stefano but on our last evening I cut some Rosemary and Sage from your bushes to take home to Netherlands..... Hope you dont mind as it will grow back soon..... The result is that we still eat our potatoes and meats with these fresh herbs and the fantastic smell-memory of Tuscany and Poggiacolle in particular ;-)

We had a fantastic table and the terrace was wonderfully cooling. As ever the view was stunning! The service was excellent being, friendly, relaxed and efficient. The food was absolutely delicious and lots of it......perfect. We also enjoyed the red and white homegrown wine and olive oil.. Another wonderful Poggiacolle memory. You must come to this magic place.

Stefano and Daniella were fabulous hosts and both met us when we arrived. I strongly suggest to future guests that you follow Daniella's advice that she provides during check in especially when you want to get a taxi to town. The photos you see of Agriturismo Poggiacolle do not do it justice. It is so beautiful I cannot put it into words. I woke up at sunrise each day to watch the sun come up, listen to the roosters in the distance as well as the church bells. It was all very calming. We were given a bottle of olive oil and a bottle of Chianti on our arrival and we enjoyed them. The Apartment Lavanda we stayed in was spacious for our family of four. It was clean and I have no negatives to add. Would I return again? Absolutely Thank you to Stefano, Daniella and their awesome team. We hope to see you soon.
