We chose this destination for our 25th wedding anniversary trip, and we were thoroughly impressed with the excellent service, delicious and well-prepared meals, and the lovely accommodation. The staff were friendly and responsive, the facilities were clean, and it's a wonderfully peaceful place for a relaxing getaway.

It was a wonderful traditional Japanese stay. The rooms were newly renovated and the environment was very quiet. The traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast were both very special. The private bath was a great experience. I recommend that people set aside their pursuit of "newness and modernity" and immerse themselves in traditional Japanese culture for a day; it's a truly relaxing experience.

The gurgling stream is so relaxing. If time wasn't a constraint, I'd love to spend the entire afternoon there. The water in the rooms is hot spring water, so it's okay if you can't soak in the hot springs.

A very traditional Japanese hotel with large rooms. The kawabatsu cuisine environment is very unique. The food can be improved. The four private soups are great.

I have to say the service is great! I left my backpack on the bus, and the hotel front desk guy was very enthusiastic to help contact the station to find it. We checked in first, which did not affect our mood. The hotel environment is elegant, and it is really relaxing and comfortable to dine by the river. The breakfast and dinner are full of rituals, and they enthusiastically introduce how to eat each dish. Very good value!

The location is relatively remote, in the deep mountains of Central Izu, close to Shuzenji Temple. Q
After checking in, the front desk will explain a lot of instructions. I will give you a brief explanation in my mediocre Japanese:
1. There are four private baths, Meteor, Moon Beauty, etc. Two of them have time requirements, and the other two do not. You will be given a QR code, which you can scan to see if there are people. I usually go to soak my head in the early morning and there are very few people.
2. The public bath is on the third floor, 24 hours, nothing special to pay attention to.
3. Meal time (if included) must be confirmed in advance, they need to prepare meals. Kawabe Japanese food, be careful of mosquitoes. The overall food is just so-so, the ingredients are fresh but not amazing, and the environment is cold.
4. Smoking is not allowed in the room, and mineral water is not provided (there is a pot of ice water).
That's about it, Izu Onsen. The water is really good, and the price is really not cheap. If I go again, I won't eat the food of this hotel, just wash it.

I really like this hotel. I stayed for one night this time. I will stay a few more nights next time. There was no firefly viewing activity during the season I came. I saw other reviews saying there would be one in June. I didn't make a reservation for Kawayo cuisine when I came. I felt a little sorry that I didn't eat it. I will come again next time.

There are two characteristics of the hotel, kawadoka cuisine and four open-air private hot springs.
Let's talk about kawadoka cuisine first. The whole cuisine is very rich. The service staff will prepare it for you in advance at the time you make an appointment. You can enjoy the scenery while eating the cuisine.
As for the hot springs, you can check whether the hot springs are in use through the website, which is very convenient. This time I only soaked in two due to time constraints. I will try the other two next time.
The overall service is also very good. When you leave the hotel, the hotel will send you to a station by bus. Just confirm the route with the hotel in advance.

Really loved this place. The service was lovely, the food was amazing especially beside the river under the kotatsu. And I loved how big the room was with the private bath. Had an amazing time in the private onsens without anyone disturbing. Couldn’t have asked for a better ryokan to go to.
