A charming, vintage Japanese-style inn with over 20 rooms. Nestled beside the Seitong River and the vibrant red and green foliage of the opposite mountains, it's particularly striking in spring and autumn. Several nearby temples and the Tokai Nature Trail (which leads to Hozu Gorge) are highly recommended. Despite its age, the inn is well-maintained, and the Japanese-style service is impeccable.

It's an old ryokan, so you shouldn't expect much from the room or bath, but it's a bit disappointing for the price, but it's still worth a visit.

It's just very far away. The room is still a little small. There are temples and shrines nearby, but they close too early. The breakfast is OK, but the sukiyaki dinner is not cost-effective. When you leave, they send you to JR Hanazono Station, which is still very good.

It was really nice. Close to everything. The suite was so big with a living area. The bathroom was really big and the jacuzzi was a convenience! After a day of walking the bathtub was a respite for tired muscles. No need for onsen! I will definitely stay here when in Gion/ Kyoto area.

Spotlessly clean and tidy. It's a traditional Japanese ryokan, exactly as the name suggests. The atmosphere was fantastic. That said, this style of accommodation does come with a couple of drawbacks: limited power outlets and a shared toilet.

The hotel manager? He is very kind and the facilities are Japanese tatami rooms and especially the comforters that are laid out for you when you come back from the hotel are so soft that you can fall asleep easily. There is a hot water pot in the room for tea and the shower is available at a set time.

This is the inn where my child stayed on a school trip when he was in elementary school. It's very close to Kyoto Station, making it convenient for sightseeing. For dinner, we had sukiyaki. There was more than enough meat for our family of four. It was a great deal and delicious. For breakfast, we had chawanmushi and miso soup with yuba, which was very satisfying.

Stayed there for 3 nights. They offered us a free upgrade to a very huge room, and kept our luggage before check-in. Very good location and quiet. The service and the breakfast is great too. Will stay there again at my next Kyoto visit.

It is a traditional hot spring hotel. It is worth mentioning that there are several kinds of bath salts in their public bathroom, suitable for different skin types. The room is old. Typical Japanese style. The room is bigger than expected. But the bathroom is super small. The toilet is facing the bathtub diagonally. Surprisingly, there is a big bath on the first floor. It's not big. But I was quite satisfied to go there alone for a bath at night.

It is only a 20-minute walk from the residence to Arashiyama and a 15-minute walk to Arashiyama Saga Railway Station. It is suitable for a family to stay when visiting Arashiyama.

The location is superbly located and the price to quality ratio is really good. The train station is easy to reach. Good transport links to downtown or to old town. I paid extra to get my own room. There was a lot of people who only stayed for one night. It felt like everyday there were new faces. If you're a rowdy person who loves noise or makes noise, don't go here. It's always quiet and making noises almost feels like a sin. It had a kitchen and tables for you to eat or do work.
