Kyoto, 179 Higashi Kazariya-Cho, Gojo-Dori, Shimogyo-Ku (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Nice hotel. Great staff. Warm and cozy rooms. Almost great location. Super clean. Great breakfast. Close to subway and other public transportation. Walking distance (15 minute) to nishiki Market, 20 minute walk to Kyoto station and Kyoto tower.
Good location and staff were welcoming. Facilities of the hotel are nice and communication from staff was great. Only thing was when we checked in the room was dirty and the bathroom smelled. Not a great first impression. After the clean up the rest of the stay was fine.
The hotel is Beautiful, maybe 4 stars, i stayed there because i didn't have another place to stay. Well, the place has big and luxury elevators I payed a room with private toilet and big bed with radio side table, the room was very large and had a desk, a tv And a closet too. The toilet was very nice and well lighted, there are towels, shampoo, soap, etc. I can relax in the bathtub. There is a...
The rooms are beautiful and well maintained. The staff is exceptionally helpful. The building is located near a train station and a bus stop so it is easy to get around Kyoto from here.
This hotel was excellent, we certainly didn't expect anything this nice when we were booking for the price that we paid for the hotel. The lobby was gorgeous and the service was excellent. We had our bags forwarded from Tokyo and they were placed in our room for us before we arrived to check in. They had all the amenities you could ask for, including self serve laundry and an onsen, besides all the...
Cozy and comfortable room with an interesting view. The hotel has a very nice public bath spa upstairs, and also provided the option of a great breakfast which included several international dishes to choose from. Would stay here again.

The facilities are a bit dated, but the environment is nice, the room is spacious, and the breakfast tastes great.
We appreciated that the hotel provides complimentary pick-up and drop-off service to the nearest subway station between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm. Breakfast is served in traditional Japanese style, featuring rice, grilled fish, eggs, and some vegetables. Coffee is not included and must be purchased separately from the hotel’s café. Bedroom: The tatami mats felt slightly dusty, possibly because the room...
Good foods and excellent view.
service is not detailed, , no coffee to be provided for breakfast, room is old, food is so so, hot spring is good, spacious outdoor
The free call service from the station is very convenient for travellers who come to stay but not driving. Both the breakfasts and dinners are excellent. The in-room onsen with jacuzzi and the beautiful landscape is spectacular. The public onsen is also clean and well maintained. The only flaw is tv in the room is rather old and would appreciate an upgrade.n
The hotel is slightly dated but has a strong Japanese aesthetic—stepping inside feels like entering a novel, reminiscent of a quiet rendezvous setting. We arrived after 7 p.m., by which time the hotel no longer served food, and the surrounding area was very dark and quiet, leaving Uber Eats as the only option. If you want to try the kaiseki dinner, be sure to make a reservation well in advance. The...

Kyoto, 172 Moriyamacho, Nakagyou-ku (in the centre) 🧭 Map
The room had a wonderfully calming Japanese-style interior. The lobby also maintained a strong Japanese aesthetic, making it the kind of hotel where you'd want to stay another night.
The hot tub on the first floor was a hit with kids, and the breakfast was a perfect Japanese meal. It also offered an experience of Japanese tatami culture. The price wasn't the best value, but overall it was acceptable.
Incredible! Large bathtub and spacious ryokan-style room!
The location is close to the station, and the facilities are clean. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The bedding was clean, and the breakfast was surprisingly good, with a decent selection. I'll definitely stay here again.
Very nice house, well maintained. Excellent value for money for Kyoto. Good central location close to transport to the main sites!
Very comfortable tatami, clean, free hot spring. I like it very much. It takes a long time to walk after getting off the subway. There is no subway station nearby. Other than that, it is very good.

Perfect location, with so good facilities. I would recommend this hotel to my friends
This hotel is right in the city center, directly on the shopping street. It's easily accessible from the train station by a simple bus ride that drops you almost right in front of the building. We had a wonderful stay; the staff was incredibly competent and even helped me retrieve an item I'd left on the train. Their kindness and friendliness were remarkable. Our room was super clean and came with...
The room was very clean, and the front desk staff were enthusiastic and vibrant. The only downside was that the room was a bit small, making it difficult for three people to spread out their luggage.
The location is convenient. The room was clean and very comfortable. It's also close to Sanjo Bridge. There are plenty of breakfast options nearby, so you won't have any trouble finding a place to eat.
Good location, the hotel is near many shops, cafe and restaurant. The reception is very frieny.
Great location and we were impressed for the cleanliness! With private separate shower and toilet.

A very good getaway spot for getting away from the busy ness of the city. The hotel itself was well-aged however the room and public area were well kept clean. Eventhough most staff members were not fluent in English, their customer service was top notch. They would arrange a short shuttle bus ride to the nearest Arashiyama JR station.
I highly recommend this hotel! The service is truly hotel-level; they were incredibly attentive, helping me with my luggage and parking. Upon arrival, the elderly lady at the hotel was very welcoming and hospitable. Her room tour was excellent, and she even made tea for us before leaving. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, especially the unidentified wild vegetable, which was absolutely wonderful...
A charming, vintage Japanese-style inn with over 20 rooms. Nestled beside the Seitong River and the vibrant red and green foliage of the opposite mountains, it's particularly striking in spring and autumn. Several nearby temples and the Tokai Nature Trail (which leads to Hozu Gorge) are highly recommended. Despite its age, the inn is well-maintained, and the Japanese-style service is impeccable.
It's an old ryokan, so you shouldn't expect much from the room or bath, but it's a bit disappointing for the price, but it's still worth a visit.
Nice traditional hotel but not very cheap and far from city.
It's just very far away. The room is still a little small. There are temples and shrines nearby, but they close too early. The breakfast is OK, but the sukiyaki dinner is not cost-effective. When you leave, they send you to JR Hanazono Station, which is still very good.

The hotel has a very convenient location, very close to Misaka in the city center. The hotel is very new and clean, with a public bath and spacious Japanese-style rooms. The price is also very reasonable. I hope to come back again.
The service was excellent, the front desk staff were very polite, and the overall experience was great. The hotel has a hot spring, a great location, very close to the subway station and the Kamo River, and the top floor has floor-to-ceiling windows.
I stayed here in early autumn. It's very convenient, right next to Teramachi Street. There are entertainment districts and restaurants nearby, so you won't have any trouble finding lunch or dinner. It's in a great location opposite Kyoto City Hall, right under the subway, and with Honnoji Temple behind. The facilities are new and clean, and the beds are soft and fluffy. The staff are attentive and kind. There is also a large public bath, so it was a very satisfying hotel.

Staff are amazing, helpful, and accommodating; and there’s not even staff on-site. They took care of us even though we kept making mistakes during check-in. House is a newly renovated Kyoto Machiya house, complete with A/C in every room. The experience of staying in a traditional-modern Kyoto house was unforgettable. Location 10 stars, Lodging 10 stars, Staff 100 stars!!!
I really enjoyed staying in this little house located very conveniently in downtown Kyoto. The person for the check-in was very friendly and helpful. It was for me a perfect first step into the Japanese way of living.

The size of the room was great, and the amenities were nice
Create location, walking distance to manual attractions, huge hotel room space in Japanese style
The desk was broken and the outside balcony had some kind of curtains that were broken. Look very outdated. Bed was nice and comfortable, very good size room. I mentioned my silver status as was required by ******* but nothing happened. Over all was a good stay and a clean room. The location is great!
We enjoyed this hotel for its traditional Japanese style. The room was clean but the conditions of the carpet and other furniture was run down and needed to be updated. The staff was kind though their English wasn’t too great. The location was perfect and Kyoto was an amazing city
It was really nice. Close to everything. The suite was so big with a living area. The bathroom was really big and the jacuzzi was a convenience! After a day of walking the bathtub was a respite for tired muscles. No need for onsen! I will definitely stay here when in Gion/ Kyoto area.
Very nice. Staff was wonderful, bathroom in the room was incredible!! The tub was so relaxing. The room had a frayed and stained carpet and there were no plugs for charging devices.

The service here was great the only issue here was with another group of travelers who were eating next door my voice is very low and it Carries so they asked me to be quiet.
Beautiful and enjoyable experience! The staff is so kind and everything is clean and cozy.
Spotlessly clean and tidy. It's a traditional Japanese ryokan, exactly as the name suggests. The atmosphere was fantastic. That said, this style of accommodation does come with a couple of drawbacks: limited power outlets and a shared toilet.
Very convenient location near Gion and Kiyomizu Dera. The hotel owner is very kind and take care of guests very excellent. Price is reasonable. I will come back to stay for sure.
The room is great, the service is good, the location is excellent, and you can walk to Kiyomizu Temple, Ninenzaka, and Threenzaka
The hotel manager? He is very kind and the facilities are Japanese tatami rooms and especially the comforters that are laid out for you when you come back from the hotel are so soft that you can fall asleep easily. There is a hot water pot in the room for tea and the shower is available at a set time.

This is the inn where my child stayed on a school trip when he was in elementary school. It's very close to Kyoto Station, making it convenient for sightseeing. For dinner, we had sukiyaki. There was more than enough meat for our family of four. It was a great deal and delicious. For breakfast, we had chawanmushi and miso soup with yuba, which was very satisfying.
Stayed there for 3 nights. They offered us a free upgrade to a very huge room, and kept our luggage before check-in. Very good location and quiet. The service and the breakfast is great too. Will stay there again at my next Kyoto visit.

The hotel is about 1.5 km from Kyoto Station, a 10-minute bus ride away. It's a Japanese-style hotel with a limited number of rooms. Although it's a bit older, it's very well-maintained and clean. The breakfast is a traditional Japanese one and quite substantial.
Excellent traditional Japanese hotel, and onsen in the hotel, definitely the best treatment after a long day of city walk.
It’s a great and clean room! Pretty big but there’s a weird smell in the room

This Japanese inn in Ogoto Onsen allows guests to stay with their dogs, and its signature feature is the service provided by the waitresses. The building can be difficult to find if you're unfamiliar with the area, so we recommend taking the "Minamishin" sign, turning left at the "Ogoto...
The portions for dinner and breakfast were very generous, even though they were described as "light set meals." The front desk staff and waitresses were all very friendly. Because the hotel is small, it had a homey atmosphere and I was able to relax. The cute mascot dog came to see me off.
The hotel is old and the price/performance ratio is not high
The service attitude is excellent, and they try their best to meet the needs of me and my friends. If we bought a cake, we asked them to get the plate and knife. They will be more considerate and give their friends a surprise without letting them know. Quietly give me the plate and knife.
It is a traditional hot spring hotel. It is worth mentioning that there are several kinds of bath salts in their public bathroom, suitable for different skin types. My skin is very smooth after using it. The dog that saw the guests off was very cute. When the car drove away, I looked back and saw the dog following the waiter and watching at the door of the store.
The facility is a little old, but the service and the staff were very friendly and I was very satisfied.

This family-style tourist hotel has a bedroom, living room, kitchen, toilet and bathroom. It is cost-effective and the owner is warm and polite. It is only a 20-minute walk from the residence to Arashiyama and a 15-minute walk to Arashiyama Saga Railway Station. It is suitable for a family to stay when visiting Arashiyama.
