Porta Inn Bentencho in Osaka

Surprising chic hotel given its brand and location. Very close to both JR and subway stations and while located in a less popular part of Osaka you can reach all popular locations within 1/2 hour. The rooms and the building should have been refurbished recently thus have a modern appeal. Being positioned as an inn there isn't much facilities to talk about, though the included breakfast is quite weak as not all food types advertised are available everyday. Also for luggage storage after checkout required a fee which is kind of a pain point for budget cautious travellers.

Very good location for Osaka Expo, breakfast got many different type but sold out also very fast. A bit sad for the gym using fee is requested via booking by unofficial website and luggage storing in front desk also requested charges.

Nice and quiet place. The rooftop view is amazing.

It was a central place to travel around from.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights during a trip to Osaka, and I was very pleased with the experience. The hotel is rated three stars and is located outside the city center, but it’s easily accessible thanks to the nearby train station, making it convenient for getting around and visiting Osaka’s attractions.

The rooms are surprisingly spacious and well-furnished, providing everything needed for a comfortable stay. The cleanliness is excellent, with the housekeeping staff doing an impeccable job every day. A highlight is the rooftop terrace, where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the city. It’s a perfect spot to relax at the end of the day and take some nice photos of the scenery.

The hotel staff is very efficient and helpful, although they don’t speak fluent English. However, they’re always ready to assist and communicate via online translators, which makes interactions easy and pleasant.

Another advantage for those traveling by car is the hotel’s automated parking system, which is well-designed and easy to use. This mobile parking system allows stress-free parking and quick access to the car, ideal for those wanting to explore the surrounding areas of Osaka independently.

The area offers a few dining options, with restaurants serving tasty food at very reasonable prices. Having a 7-Eleven and Family Mart nearby is also convenient, where you can make small purchases and withdraw cash from ATMs available 24/7—a true plus for travelers.

In summary, this is a great choice for anyone looking for comfortable accommodation, well-connected to the city, with all essential services close at hand

Location:
Next to Bentencho station so easy access to Osaka loop line and Chuo Line for Subway and Rail. Really good location even though it's not central Osaka. The advantage is that you can still get everywhere within 10-20mins and the surrounding area is clean and safe and quiet.
There is a 7-11 next door and a commercial gym (charged at 1650 per day)

Negatives are there is not much to do in the evenings. But this leads to the quietness of the area and is an advantage

Hotel Room:
We stayed in double room and it was large. Nice comfortable bed with good pillows. The AC was modern and good and did not make noise even while we were asleep. The room is cleaned daily (tidy and new towels) with new sheets every 3 days. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided. The room was also very clean. The bed has USB and chargers on either side of it. There is space to hang clothes
But the room is really nice. We always were glad to come back to a very clean and tidy place. The TV has English menus but we never watched anything.

Negatives are the fridge could be colder and the bathroom sink has a tiny slope on it so you cannot place product on the sink but you have a shelf above the sink for this. Very slight negatives for what is a great place to stay

Hotel features:
Excellent. Great laundry room with several washers & dryers. Trouser presses, vending machine and ice machine. A rooftop terrace with good views.
The breakfast is free and is underwhelming, just different bread and pastries with choices of juice, soups, water and yogurt. It's acceptable and I guess it's free.
The hotel lobby has little items you can take if needed, such as hair bands, toothbrushes, razor kits but something nice was that they give you bath bombs for free too. Different ones each day.

Staff:
Very friendly and helpful, even after midnight when I made requests they were very fast and helpful

Overview:
100% would stay here again. The price-to-quality ratio and the large room size make this an easy choice. Do not worry about location, I stayed it Dontonburi area before and alothgh its close to everything, its loud, dirty and feels unsafe. But the location of Porta Inn is really good and super easy to get to central areas (around 10-20mins) and easy to get to the airport (direct line) and easy to get to Universal Studios too.

Superb experience staying at Porta Inn..the menities provided are sufficient for a comfortable stay and location of hotel is convenient as its quite close to railway station. Universal is 3 stops away and Osaka is also quite near.
