The number of guests was limited, so we were able to stay in a quiet and peaceful environment. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and we were very satisfied with the private hot spring.

Wonderful
Everything was wonderful. From the check-in, dinner, bath, breakfast, to the farewell, everything was wonderful. The quality of the guests was also excellent.

Very quiet, luxurious hotel with only 14 rooms. Fabulous dinner and breakfast. Wonderful inroom Onsen bath. We had an open air private onsen. Expected a typical autumn scenery with trees changing color but a little disappointed. It might be better in spring, with fresh green vegitation.

This was my fourth visit, following my first in July this year. It's not too hot and not too cold, so it may be just the right season for a hot spring. This time, too, I enjoyed a dinner that lived up to my expectations. The main dish is usually beef, but this time it was duck. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the saltiness and gravy were a taste that I can't describe. The fish was a grouper dish, and the texture was similar to pufferfish, and it had a complex flavor that was good. The fish appetizer was a surprise. I was surprised that my wife and I had different plates for our food. My wife had pacific saury, and I had flounder. When I asked why the dishes were different, she said that she had heard that the husband doesn't like blue fish. I don't remember making a clear request myself, but I think she must have been considerate in some conversation. Also, for breakfast, I can't eat poached eggs, but they were topped with pecorino cheese and made it into TKG. We were allowed to sample a variety of wines. The manager told me that red wine goes well with grouper, so I tried it, but unfortunately it didn't suit me. I have an interesting experience every time, so it's a stay that never gets boring. All the staff were very friendly and I was very satisfied. I would like to visit again next year when I receive the member benefits email. The only thing I regret is that there are not many souvenir sweets available. I wish they would have Kanaya Tamago on hand.

This was my third visit to my second home. I had made a reservation for September, but I received a discount email for members, so I changed my plans to July. I heard that I could eat the summer specialty, sweetfish confit, so I changed my plans at the last minute. Dinner was as expected and I was very satisfied. I think the food here is the best. I thought the wine would go well with sweetfish, so I chose Hishiyama Blanc (a fairly refreshing taste) and Barolo for the Chateaubriand this time. (Light mouthfeel and soft acidity are GOOD) The quality of the hot spring was as expected and satisfactory. However, because it was summer, many bugs invaded. I have insect conners, but they are ineffective. Since this is my third time having breakfast, I changed it to Western food. I tried it once, but I think the breakfast here is better in Japanese food. I requested the manager to make a slight change. Next time, I will be a little selfish and ask them to change some of the small items. The staff are all very nice and I always have a relaxing stay. I forgot to hand over my membership card at the end, but that's okay. I'll be back on an overseas trip next year, and I'd like to visit for the fourth time. I'm looking forward to the specialties. It's a small, cozy hotel for adults.

This is my second visit, following October 2022. I went to see if the atmosphere of Forest Terrace had changed with the change of seasons, but it was a bit disappointing that there were so many dead trees. It may not turn green until around June. I drove to the entrance, and the staff called me by name, which made me feel good. The good thing about this place is that there are only 14 guest rooms, so it is quiet. The staff were also nice and I had a pleasant stay. The quality of the bath water is very good, so the reason I come here is the hot springs. Also, the concept of the dinner pattern this time was different from last time, and it was very delicious. They also responded to my likes and dislikes in detail. There was orange wine, which I was satisfied with. It's a shame that the breakfast has not changed. I would like it to change. As for improvements, I would like the check-out to be at 12 o'clock. I would like to be able to smoke on the terrace. I would like a Nestle machine for coffee in the room. I made a reservation for September 2023 despite saying various things. At the end, many staff members saw me off. This is my villa.

Slow! Slow! Slow!

Rooms are new, not public bath house, place is exclusive to 14 rooms. Newly build and not bad design, very modern. Stay and quality of bed is good. Onsen is decent due to small tub in room.
View barely anything.

Worse is food! DO NOT EAT HERE! Food not only is terrible, but service is very very slow, it take almost 1 hrs to arrive.. cold food not hot.. service is very bad in the restaurant..

If you want to come to eat here, I suggest better prepare food yourself

Depending on the room, some rooms have almost no view. I wonder if it's not that when you come to a place rich in nature. I know it's a cheap room, but...

No matter when you go, you will be served with a moderate sense of distance and a delicious and relaxed time. It may not be an exaggeration to say that I can do my best because I have the pleasure of coming here.

I used it about a year ago, but I can't find a hotel that surpasses this one, so I'll post it.
I think the customer service attitude is really great.
I was happy with the service, the room and the food.
I will use it again.

There are many great hotels in Hakone, but I think Mr. Kanaya is a very good hotel.
The evening and breakfast were excellent as other reviews said, and the hot spring in the room was also good.
The room was decorated in calm colors and the view from the window was very nice.
A hotel where you can enjoy all seasons.
