Hakone, Miyanoshita 359, 250-0404 Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo District, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan (7 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The Japanese breakfast is a must-try; we enjoyed it so much that we had it for four consecutive mornings! What's more, the Japanese breakfast menu changes every three days, with each day offering enticing dishes
This five-star hotel is absolutely wonderful! The hotel itself has a rich history, and there's even a museum inside that meticulously chronicles its past. The hotel garden is stunning and perfect for photos
③ Chinese-speaking service is available throughout (though the hotel primarily hosts ********* guests, with very few mainland Chinese visitors). ④ There's a 24-hour complimentary beverage and coffee bar within the hotel
As a hotel that was once a showcase for Japan's opening to the West, you can feel the high standards of design and service everywhere. Most of the guests are older, which reminds me a bit of China's Friendship Hotel
The forest-view rooms are located in the wing built in the 1960s. The decor isn't just retro; it's genuinely vintage. You can tell they used quality materials and had good taste, but it definitely feels dated
If you're not comfortable using the public bath, the hot water in the room's bathtub is actually hot spring water, so you can enjoy a private soak in your room. The hotel itself has a lot to offer
Hakone, 256-1 Yumoto, 250-0392 Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo District, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan (8 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Walking into the lobby, I was pleasantly surprised by how clean it was. Although it's an old hotel with a vintage interior, it has a charming feel, almost like stepping back into the Japanese dramas I watched as a kid
Despite its age, it's very well-maintained and clean, which made it comfortable. Everything else was pretty standard
We booked a standard double room; the facilities aren't brand new but are clean, and the room itself is larger than what you'd find in a Tokyo city hotel. The breakfast had a good variety, which was satisfactory
The hotel's location is excellent. From Hakone-Yumoto Station, you take the elevator down to ground level, cross the bridge, and the hotel is a short walk on your right, up another elevator
Waking up in the morning and standing on the balcony, you're greeted by lush greenery and the sound of a gurgling stream – it's an absolute treat for both body and mind
The hotel location is great and just next to Hakone Yumoto Station. Overall, the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great and includes lots of varieties
Hakone, 1244-2 Sengokuhara Hakone-machi (7 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Was easy to get to (bus J from Odawara station (expected 50 minutes but took over an hour due to traffic jams near ropeway late morning time). Short easy 5 minute walk from bus stop to hotel (ignore other reviews)
Amazing hotel! The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The onsen is large and has beautiful views of Mount Fuji from the women's section, but unfortunately, I couldn't see it from the men's
The ryokan style room was clean and cozy, but a bit small for a family of 5. Buffet-style dinner and breakfast were decent, with selection of both Japanese and Western options
Staff were very polite and helpful, front desk staff speaks good English too. Good location for self drive travellers, near to attractions like Owakudani and Open Air Museum
The food was spectacular; I was surprised by the quality, especially for a buffet. The staff, both at reception and in the restaurant, were very friendly and attentive
Worth the room upgrading for a much bigger ryokan room with attached onsen. Fabulous! Food is great too!
Hakone, 934-25 Sengokuhara (9 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The package including two meals was pretty good value for money. You can send your luggage to the hotel from Yumoto Station. Dinner was a buffet, which was decent, but I personally prefer Japanese Kaiseki cuisine
The room facilities are a bit old, but well-maintained. The room itself is quite spacious. There are multiple hot spring pools, both indoor and outdoor. The downside is the inconvenient transportation
We came from Kamakura and it took a long time to get here. The bus journey involved a lot of winding mountain roads, and I almost got carsick
The room was quite spacious, listed at 32 square meters. It came fully furnished with a two-seater sofa, a table, a wardrobe, and more
😊 The hot spring is large and has an outdoor section. Overall, it offers good value for money
It has a very large space for the room. Staff were efficient and friendly.
Hakone, 1320 Gora Hakone-machi (7 km from centre) 🧭 Map
This hotel is great for seniors; the hot springs are nice, and while the facilities are a bit old, they're clean. Environment: There aren't many other hotels nearby. Hygiene: It's good; the cleaning staff does a good job
The staff's service is exceptionally high-level. Personally, I'd rank it among the top one or two, along with Hakone's "Toyotsuki. " The service from the male restaurant staff was particularly good
The hotel's shuttle bus was very convenient, the room was comfortable, breakfast was exquisite, and the hotel service was excellent. A wonderful memory.
The hotel's shuttle service made getting around incredibly easy. We pre-booked it on Ctrip, and the shuttle to/from Odawara was right on schedule. It also offered flexible pickups and drop-offs at several attractions
This hotel is nestled in the mountains, and the service was decent. The facilities inside the hotel were all quite clean. Overall, it was good.
Great hotel. Service and amenities amazing (except no gym). Thought the rooms was well designed to provide good rest. In my opinion the breakfast was the star. Top Notch!! All in all great experience.
The wagyu and teppanyaki shrimp was delicious! The onsen and ofuro has quality water tapped from Hakone volcano and soothes aching muscles and makes skin soft
The hotel has a beautiful environment, especially the Japanese garden 🏡 which is incredibly picturesque
We came in January when the weather dropped to 0c and the room had heaters. The onsen is beautiful and natural. And the receptionists are very polite and happy. We loved happy people that makes your money well spend
We stayed in a few Ryokans but this Yoshiike Ryokan is the best because the room have large window that allow fresh mountain air to flow into the room and the futons are incredibly comfortable and warmed
Even though it's winter, the plum blossoms and cherry blossoms 🌸 in the courtyard are already in bloom, making for a pleasant stroll. There are also many cultural relics
Since we didn't opt for a meal, the two futons were already laid out for us quite early
Hakone, 492-23 Kowakidani (6 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The guy who did the check in was super friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and spotless. I was not too well to go out but the place had every thing I need for relaxing and recovery.
The private bath is a bit small, just right for one person to soak comfortably. The view from the balcony is beautiful, with lush green maple leaves layered with red and yellow. Dinner and breakfast were decent
All the hotel staff were attentive and meticulous, and their English was good. The shuttle bus goes to Kowakidani train station, not the bus stop, so make sure not to get on the wrong one
My second stay in this hotel, staffs are friendly, foods are great. For those who is coming the first time, please take the train from station 51 and get off at station 55 (Kowakidani)
On the first day, I didn't realize our balcony bath was just hot water until I specifically asked the front desk and found out only the first and second-floor rooms have hot springs
Not bad, pretty good overall, just the food felt a little perfunctory. The outdoor hot springs are great, and transportation is convenient with a bus stop just a short walk away.
Hakone, 688 Yumoto Hakone-machi (8 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Hotel staff were the best I've ever had to experience, extremely helpful and friendly even if I didn't speak the language they put in the effort to communicate in my native tongue
Beautiful older style hotel, staff are attentive , baths are beautiful and comfortable beds, amenities is nice too with dyson hsirdryer
A place stagnate in time, with timeless charm and good environment. Located conveniently nearby to Yumoto Station is a great plus for laid back area of Hakone
The hot spring water was continuously flowing, and a notice on the wall detailed its composition, stating that only water was added to lower the temperature, along with chlorine for disinfection, and crucially, no circulation system was used
This is significant because many other onsen ryokans might offer beautiful gardens, attractive prices, and even private indoor baths, but a closer look often reveals they might just be using plain heated water or circulated onsen water
The gentleman who handled our check-in had a wonderfully distinctive charm. Our room was very spacious, with large floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views of the river and distant mountains – truly beautiful
The hotel and restaurant staff were all very kind and helpful, the room was traditional, spacious and nice, the public onsen (indoor + outdoor) was great, too!
The food at the restaurant was very well prepared and presented! The staff was very careful with accomodating any dietary restrictions, and also served western type of breakfast upon request
Aura Tachibana is a bit on the older side, but it is well maintained and has a lot of charm. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and always willing to help, which really made our stay more enjoyable
Probably one of the nicest places I've ever stayed
The room was gorgeous, traditional and warm. We had the private outside bath and it was nice and warm, perfect to contrast against the cold mountain air
And the food is incredible, I received the traditional japanese breakfast which was absolutely loaded with seafood and pickled vegetables, and my partner who is allergic to seafood received a lovely western style breakfast
Traditional style rooms were spacious and comfortable. Authentic Japanese breakfast provided samples of many foods. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Shuttle bus was exceptionally convenient
The whole experience genuinely felt comparable to dining in a Michelin-star restaurant, both in quality and care. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a refined and memorable ryokan stay
Hakone, 139 Motohakone, Ashigarashimo District, 250-0522 Hakone, uezd Asigarasimo, Prefektura Kanagava, Yapon (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
The scenery is beautiful, and the location is great, right next to Lake Ashi. The rooms are quite large and the facilities are good. However, staying on the first floor means the view is largely blocked
Great location, rooms with views of Mount Fuji. Dinner included multi-course traditional Japanese cuisine. Onsen with a view of Mount Fuji. The standard of the ryokan is beyond praise. We will definitely return. A+++
The room was decent, but the view from the first floor wasn't great. I imagine the higher floors would have a better view. The food was good, typical Japanese style, and the service was also good.
Also, there's no distinction between the main building and the annex; if you want to book the main building, it seems like all bookings on Ctrip are for the annex
There aren't many hot spring pools, but the outdoor one at the main building offers stunning views of Mount Fuji and the large lake.
Friendly staff and nice view with Fuji mountain. Stay peaceful.
Setting: The hotel is nestled in the mountains, offering fresh air and quiet nights. It's also near a small river and waterfall. It's also conveniently located near attractions like Hakone Shrine and Lake Ashi
The hotel's indoor and outdoor hot springs are very clean, and soaking in the water while listening to the gentle cascade outside was a relaxing experience
Facilities: The hotel's overall decor is relatively new, and the rooms are significantly larger than similarly priced hotels in Tokyo
Service: The staff were attentive, the breakfast was plentiful, and lunch and dinner reservations were available
This superb hotel writes HOSPITALITY in capitals. Everything is focused at the guests wellbeing. And when a problem occurs it is solved with a smile 😀. Staff is super friendly, the onsen is great.
RECOMENDED!
Although this hotel is far away from the central area of Hakone
But the room is very spacious
The bathhouse is very big
And next to the beautiful waterfall
It’s worth the higher price
The private Onsen is the best I have ever had the pleasure of using (it is 1000% worth the surcharge)
The only issues I had with my stay were some inconsistencies with the online posting and the english room instructions they appeared a little out of date (for example they both listed a dinner that was not available for our stay)
Probably the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Amazing staff with unparalleled Japanese service, super clean, fantastic onsen. FREE ALCOHOL, best breakfast ever.
No words to say how much we enjoyed our stay.
This is an amazing gem of a hotel. It is extremely chic. The staff are so friendly and the food and booze are next level. Not for kids this is really a couples hotel.
I went to Japan with my son for Christmas holiday and was pleasantly surprised to stay at Hakone Treasure Hotel barhotel. It is definitely a paradise for wine lovers
From the moment I checked in, the champagne kept flowing. unlimited drinking, and the brunch on the second day was the same
This is a Premium high $$$ stay, you will feel very fancy here
The service attitude and feeling are very good. It is very suitable for traveling with the elders. It is more suitable for relaxation without noisy children.
The independent hot spring in the room is very pleasant. It is hidden in a bamboo forest. I also recommend the breakfast and dinner at the hotel. If you stay, be sure to include double meals
The room is clean and the facilities are excellent. You must choose the double-board package. The breakfast is amazing and the dinner is pretty normal
In addition, this hotel is quite primitive and there will be some noise when you sleep at night
A beautifully designed hotel with a serene atmosphere. I loved the onsen facilities, especially having both private and public baths to choose from. The surroundings were so quiet that I slept incredibly well
The hotel is a 5–6 minute walk from Gora Station, making it convenient for exploring the area. They offer welcome drinks and snacks, along with complimentary coffee and beverages
This is a very spacious onsen ryokan with a kids' book corner and a manga nook. The private onsen baths are free of charge, making it perfect for family trips, though they are quite popular and require a queue
The hotel's overall environment is quite good, and the transportation is also convenient, making it suitable for friends visiting Hakone for the first time
The hotel facilities are complete, and the lounge on the second floor is open 24 hours. You can go there to have some drinks and chat, and it's all free
I had a wonderful stay at Hakone Yutowa. The hotel was very clean, and the atmosphere felt warm and cozy—especially perfect during the winter season
Hakone, 817-342 Sengokuhara Hakone-machi (9 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The Kaiseki cuisine is full of ritual, the hotel is very private, dinner and breakfast are in the room, so there is no public space in the hotel. Bathing is very comfortable, suitable for couples to travel.
I stayed in a two-story room, so the two spaces were very separate and comfortable!
The bed was also very, very large!
The bamboo forest view from the window was absolutely stunning
Has a premium and discreet feel about it; the place is well hidden and there's lots of dark wood, bamboo and gold tones throughout. Very attentive service and food quality was up there with other 4+ star Ryokan
Love the peace and quiet! I love the privacy of a in-room onsen. Breakfast and dinner were really good. I will come back again
Yes, the hotel provides breakfast and dinner. The Japanese food is exquisite and the service is also very good. If the price/performance ratio is higher, it will be more enjoyable. I will go there again in the future
The service was great, the open-air hot spring was very comfortable, and the dinner was delicious 😋
Hakone, 837 Sengokuhara, Hakonemachi (10 km from centre) 🧭 Map
I specifically requested for room with a view (not car park view) for the price I paid but knowing the Japanese inflexibility, it will be impossible to have a room change after they have allocated one , plus they r running full capacity with inadequate manpower
The service staff was trying to separate us from the member guests with different route , access , etc … again for the price I paid , it is totally not worth it , be it the property , the service , or the quality of the breakfast
Breakfast standard is way below par for this level of luxury club standard. I had much better breakfast for room half this price. They should do a lot better in the selection and quality of the breakfast
Bad thing - NO VIEW ! our room with a Huge balcony faced a car park , I guess that’s why they sell this room to Non-Members. Thus the Balcony serve no purpose bcos there’s no view
Parking is easy , including access to basement parking. The public onsen is not bad with 2 outdoor onsen. The in-room private onsen is convenient but there is No View
Hakone, 164 Motohakone, Ashigarashimo District, 250-0522 Hakone, uezd Asigarasimo, Prefektura Kanagava, Yapon (7 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a nice traditional touch that added to the overall experience. One of the highlights was the onsen
The hotel service is pretty good. Be sure to book a package that includes dinner. The room was okay, quite clean and hygienic, the hot spring was pretty good, and the dinner was overall quite sumptuous
Hakone Kogen Hotel is perfect for those looking to unwind in a peaceful natural setting. Surrounded by greenery, the atmosphere was calm and refreshing, making it a great escape from the busy city
The hot spring facilities were well-maintained and very relaxing, especially after a long day of exploring Hakone. The staff were polite and welcoming, providing good service throughout the stay
I totally recommend it.
Just be aware that the onsens are naked and they separate females and males. I recommend to book for a private onsen and you can be with your partner
The hotel service is first-class, the room is large enough, clean and hygienic. It is close to the bus station and Taoyuandai Station. I enjoy soaking in the hot spring
Hakone, 1320-276 Gora, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun, Ka (8 km from centre) 🧭 Map
I went without doing any research beforehand, but at the footbath bar where they serve welcome drinks, a staff member gave me a map and kindly recommended some great places to visit
Really love the big room we had and having our own onsen in the bathroom but the shower was not hot sadly 😔
Love that so many yukada are available to use freely 🥰 and the closet is pretty wide too 😁
Would be good to have more table space 😔
Just 2 min walk from the station. Staff very accommodating, especially for English speaking guests. Restaurant food was really good. Small portions but surprisingly filling! Loved our waited
The room was fantastic - really big, the shower alone was bigger than a hotel rooms whole bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and there was a balcony with nice view to the mountains
Really great for taking some time off and sitting with a coffee from the rooms own coffee machine (tea also available). We've enjoyed the private onsen and 'stonebed' spa a lot
First time staying ryokan, was a great experience doing onsen in the room. The place was clean, and enjoyed the free welcome drinks and the foot bath.
Hakone, 521 Hakone, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture (in the centre) 🧭 Map
The daily breakfast and dinners are called Kaiseki with multiple course and presented in the most beautiful ceramics and dishes. Our room hostess was so delightful and made our experience even better
Everyone at the Ryokan, from the people at the front desk to the lovely men at the doors were dedicated to making our stay better with a welcoming smile
Additionally, this Ryokan is located within a short walk to the town where many opportunities for sightseeing are possible. An impressive view of Mt Fuji was the cherry on top
Kasatsu Ryokan is located a five-minute walk from Hakone Checkpoint on the shore of Lake Ashi and a half-hour taxi ride from Odawara High Speed Rail Station. The transportation is very convenient
I cannot say enough positive things about this beautiful and relaxing ryokan. The setting is stunning and a perfect example of Japanese gardens
It was a dream come true coming here! My only critique would be that there are obvious signs of aging throughout the room; the bathroom for example had terrible and dark 80’s fluorescent lighting that made it challenging getting ready
Hakone, Tounosawa 54-1, 250-0315 Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo District, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan (8 km from centre) 🧭 Map
There is a free shuttle bus from Hakone Yumoto station to Hakone Yuyo hot spring resort which is right across the street from the hotel that we were able to use
If you have large luggage the shuttle bus doesn't work because it has no luggage storage. It was a short walk to the train to start our Hakone Loop journey
The hotel was conveniently located by a train station, and despite what other reviews have mentioned, we didn't struggle getting our luggage up and down the hill (but we're both about 30 and in decently good shape
Food was great. Room was spacious and clean.
Our disappointment baesd on the spooky trip to this place was soon replaced with joy once we entered this place. Its a beautiful onsen resort with a wonderful staff. The hospitality and facilities were both top notch
Since it gets dark in Japan as early as 5. 30 pm we were in for an adventure trip to find this destination. Although this place is close to the railway station it was so dark that we struggled finding this location
