The kaiseki dinner was absolutely delicious. The hot springs were incredibly relaxing, making this an amazing trip. I went without doing any research beforehand, but at the footbath bar where they serve welcome drinks, a staff member gave me a map and kindly recommended some great places to visit.
First time staying ryokan, was a great experience doing onsen in the room. The place was clean, and enjoyed the free welcome drinks and the foot bath.
Pros: Nice hotel, close to the ski lifts and the train station. There's a great coffee shop across the street and all the sights are very close. The rooms are large and spacious. The service and staff are excellent. Breakfast and dinner are delicious; I'd say there's a lot of food. I also liked the lobby bar. We went for a massage and to the onsen. Cons The rooms have layers of dust on the walls,...
We took a room in the annex. We had a terrace overlooking the valley below. The onsen was on the terrace right next to the showers.
Rooms were quite nice with good views, but rooms tatami flooring was a little worn out, and the wifi was very slow. The public hot springs are small, and there is no view
Great inclusion. The food service place isn’t too flashy making the entire dinning experience a bit lacking. You can book up to 3 private bath session. I used the public bath early in the morning which is great too, had the entire place to myself.

The package including two meals was pretty good value for money. You can send your luggage to the hotel from Yumoto Station. Dinner was a buffet, which was decent, but I personally prefer Japanese Kaiseki cuisine. 😊 The hot spring is large and has an outdoor section. Overall, it offers good value for money.
The room size was very big. But it’s rather old; many cigarette butts on the balcony floor so we didn’t even want to step out. Each time someone flushed the toilet it gave out such loud noise, which sound like a jet engine. It really needed some upgrade. The onsen was the highlight of the stay. Very nice and relaxing. Breakfast was decent with many choices. Location wise it is rather far from the...
The location is quite convenient, and the food is good compare the price.
It has a very large space for the room. Staff were efficient and friendly.
The hotel is divided into a South Wing and a North Wing, with the restaurant and hot spring located in separate buildings. The hot spring area is quite spacious. Free parking and internet access are provided. Overall, it's pretty decent.
The room facilities are a bit old, but well-maintained. The room itself is quite spacious. There are multiple hot spring pools, both indoor and outdoor. The downside is the inconvenient transportation. We came from Kamakura and it took a long time to get here. The bus journey involved a lot of winding mountain roads, and I almost got carsick.

Beautiful older style hotel, staff are attentive , baths are beautiful and comfortable beds, amenities is nice too with dyson hsirdryer. Fantastic location. The only downside is room a little outdated with mould on the ceiling and inside the wardrobe.
Great place and very comfortable.
A place stagnate in time, with timeless charm and good environment. Located conveniently nearby to Yumoto Station is a great plus for laid back area of Hakone. Service staff are friendly and attentive to details, and have no difficulty to communicate in English. Recommended for slow pace holiday
Excellent! This onsen ryokan, operating for over 70 years, boasts 9 natural spring sources, a clear testament to its authentic *gensen kakenagashi* (free-flowing hot spring water) system. It's a short, convenient walk from the station. The bamboo grove at the entrance is exquisitely maintained, and we were welcomed by female staff in traditional attire. The gentleman who handled our check-in had a...
The hotel has a very authentic Japanese style. Its interior is also beautiful, making it a perfect spot for photos. Both meals provided were Japanese-style; after booking a specific time, guests are escorted to a private dining room to enjoy them. The dishes were beautifully presented and a feast for the eyes. A relaxing bath after dinner was perfect for unwinding. My only regret is that my stay was...
The hotel's ambiance was exceptionally comfortable, far exceeding my expectations. I highly recommend the open-air private onsen room; it spares you the awkwardness of public baths, featuring an incredibly spacious room and a private garden. The room rate included both breakfast and a traditional kaiseki dinner. The meals were exquisitely prepared, and dinner was accompanied by a traditional Japanese...

Everything was nice, few steps away from train station. Not so many trains at night so the noise isn't really a problem. Nice bath.
Good location and staffs are friendly.
Excellent location, and the staff are friendly. The hotel is a bit old, but it's clean.
The price is cheap, but the food is incredibly delicious. With all-you-can-eat roast beef, it's a fantastic deal.
Excellent location, just next to train station and bus terminal. The onsen was definitely a " plus". Highly recommended.

Hotel is abit dated and old by now compared to when I stayed many years ago. Still it’s a relatively clean, nice and comfy hotel, with nice Fuji view in both onsen and surrounding area. Overall it’s a lovely stay and we are happy to be back again.
Hotel location is good connection to obako ropeway station. 3 min walk from the back of hotel. Good dinner and breakfast wt a lot selections.
Worth the room upgrading for a much bigger ryokan room with attached onsen. Fabulous! Food is great too!
Hotel is spaces and nice. Services and facilities was good. Foods just above average, not that fantastic and location was abit inconvenient and too far. Otherwise overall was ok.
Amazing hotel! The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The onsen is large and has beautiful views of Mount Fuji from the women's section, but unfortunately, I couldn't see it from the men's. The food was spectacular; I was surprised by the quality, especially for a buffet. The staff, both at reception and in the restaurant, were very friendly and attentive. The only downside would...
The ryokan style room was clean and cozy, but a bit small for a family of 5. Buffet-style dinner and breakfast were decent, with selection of both Japanese and Western options. The room is decorated in a Japanese style and is very spacious. Each room has a private onsen bath.
Setting: The hotel is nestled in the mountains, offering fresh air and quiet nights. It's also near a small river and waterfall. This superb hotel writes HOSPITALITY in capitals. Everything is focused at the guests wellbeing. And when a problem occurs it is solved with a smile 😀. Staff is super friendly, the onsen is great. RECOMENDED!
We had a Japanese style room, which was very spaceous. Our view was excellent, nice Onsen, good food and super friendly staff!!! We lost our wallet in the hotel and they send it after us to our Next hotel the same Day! Thank you for the very pleasant stay! Arigato gozimas!

Super love this ryokan especially the meals included (breakfast and dinner). Very good hospitality by staff. Would definitely recommend if anyone would like to experience the Japanese culture and onsen in this beautiful town
A nice hotel with excellent onsen and a pleasant mountain view from the room. The men's and women's baths are switched every evening so you can try both. The food is an acquired taste; I found it too pickled and not enough fish and meat. A delicious dessert was available for breakfast. There were missing instructions on how to make your futon; it would be nice to have some for foreigners staying at...
Location is good. Need to walk about 6 mins from the station. nice view from the window. Onsen is quite good, hot water, bubble tube, big outdoor tube. Food is so much delicious, a lot of plates with different dishes. But not all japanese cuisine, more kind of mixed. But still realy good. Thanks for the stay, we’ll definetly book again, when return!
It's a fairly traditional Japanese inn; the breakfast and dinner were decent, and the staff were very welcoming. The soundproofing was a bit poor, but otherwise it was quite good. For the price in Hakone, it's pretty good value, and with the Hakone Free Pass, it's convenient to take the train to Gora. It's about a 7-10 minute walk to the station.
Pretty nice place and very kind staff Nice rooms with mountain view as well as onsen. They are good!
The seat is a short walk from the station, and it's a bit tiring to drag the suitcase but it's acceptable. Most of the guests staying here are Japanese, and there are few foreigners. The dinner and breakfast provided by the hotel are both rich and delicious, which is a reason to come again.

This building, built in 1890, offers a complete immersion into the country's culture and history. Excellent service, wonderful onsen, and delicious meals.
A very classic Japanese hot spring hotel, but the room is really a bit old, the maintenance is not very good, and the surrounding area is also boring
This is our favorite hotel during our 10-day trip to Japan. It is like a journey through time and space. The service provided by the hostess is refreshing and unforgettable!
This is an old hotel that started in 1890. It feels like living in history. The reception staff is very warm and thoughtful. There are 6 hot springs that I really like. The dinner is also very exquisite.

A wonderful authentic Japanese experience. Great service despite us not speaking the same language (They are very adept at using Google translate). Good Location for Hakone Open Air Museum and for being able to get on the bus back to the station early before it gets so crowded it doesn't stop for more passengers. The room size was pretty good, offering great value for money considering it's in the mountains and part of a well-known chain. I stayed here for sightseeing in Hakone and to visit Yunessun. It's a tranquil ryokan with a small number of guests, so I could enjoy a peaceful stay. This little gem was just incredible. We stayed for two nights in the Kisaian Ai suite. Very traditional room with a private onsen. Provided yukata's are gorgeous. The futon beds were super comfy. Food was next level and so is the service. I didn't want to leave. Such a special experience.
This boutique inn is located in the Hakone Onsen area. While it doesn't have a large public bath, it boasts three private baths available at any time, suitable for 2, 3, and 4 people respectively. This was a great experience for us! The Ryokan Yushintei is near Hakone-Yumoto Station, about 5-10 minutes by taxi aprox. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The Japanese-style room was very spacious, clean and beautiful. We also really liked the small onsen in our room, which was pleasantly warm. The staff are so sweet. Their goal is to give you an authentic Japanese experience. It's serene, calming. Great for a relaxing vacation. The residence is a bit far from main strip but so worth it. I chose this hotel because one blogger recommended it, and I got what I wanted - a beautiful and open-air onsen. There are 2 of them and both are private. The first onsen has 2 pools. The bath in the room was lukewarm and they must have added too much water, so they called me to warn me. The train route is listed as Ubako Station, but I knew it was 1 kilometer if I got off at the Ubako bus stop, but I wish they would have written the bus stop directly in front of the hotel.

It was cheap and good. The room was old, but the food was reasonably tasty.

Relaxation for body and soul - definitely about this hotel!! If there was an opportunity, we would gladly stay longer!! Private onsen in the room and dinner and breakfast in the buffet style, after which you can't leave the table - awesome!!!!)))))

A lovely authentic Japanese experience. Very welcoming hosts. Food was plentiful and to a high standard just not to my Western palate. Very fish orientated. A menu would have been good to help identify some of the dishes. We loved getting dressed into our Yukatas. No Wi-Fi in the room but available in the lounge. Convenient for Hakone station.
A wonderful hot spring experience. The detached Yamabuki private bath was small but very relaxing, washing away the fatigue of Lake Ashi. The tatami bedroom with the river flowing by was comfortable and quiet. I'll definitely come back to Hakone next time.
Amazing experience of staying in Japanese Ryokan. It is a bit dated but very authentic and enjoyable for couple of nights

Lovely experience staying here. Our Wa Fuu room was modern, clean and provisioned with exquisitely comfortable floor-beds, as well a constantly-flowing private onsen with well-kept shower fixtures and tiling. Sweeping view of the mountains from both the room and bath. Room food service was convenient and the "set" meals were delicious. Bravo!

The most amazing experience of this trip to Japan... I'll just show you the pictures, words can't describe it. Even the skincare products were exceptionally good; I want to buy some, but I don't know the brand. I saw them at the hotel, please reply!
A top choice for hot springs, with a variety of private baths to satisfy all your needs. The Japanese breakfast and kaiseki dinner were both delicious, with different dishes served on two separate days. It truly lives up to the saying, "Expensive things are good in every way except for the price!" I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Hakone for hot springs.
The highlight of this trip was staying at this hotel. First of all, for hot spring lovers, this hotel has both private baths in the room and private baths that require payment, as well as excellent public hot springs. I really enjoyed it. It was my first time at a ryokan. I liked the onsen too, but we didn't take the private one, but the prices were very reasonable. The kaiseki is good. I wish the breakfast had more variety. The main thing is the Friendly tattoo.

I booked a room with a private onsen, and the room itself was incredibly spacious. You never have to worry about Japan's high standards for cleanliness; it was so clean and comfortable to stay in. It was truly blissful to go straight from showering to soaking in the onsen! Breakfast was delivered to a separate dining area right across from our room, with each room having its own dedicated dining space...
Suimeisou's location is fantastic. For our family of three with a child, it was incredibly convenient to walk to the hotel with our luggage right after arriving at Hakone-Yumoto Station. The price for three people for two nights and three days was 7500 RMB. The hotel front desk staff and the ladies in charge were all very welcoming. Excellent! Very Japanese. If you want to experience Japanese culture, give this a try.
The room was tiny, nothing like the pictures! There wasn't even space to put our luggage... The public onsen was just a plain pool, completely lacking any ambiance or nice surroundings. We paid extra for a private onsen, but it was only good for photos... (And you could even see the hotel across the way while soaking). The toilet paper 🧻 in this hotel was as thin as what you'd find in a public restroom...
Hakone Suimeisou, although not cheap, is truly a great value-for-money onsen ryokan in Hakone when you consider its location, facilities, ambiance, and service. The hot springs are genuine, and both the room and meals are very high-class. It would be even better if it were a bit more affordable.
The biggest advantage is probably its proximity to Yumoto Station. You don't even need to go upstairs from the second floor; just walk to the end, turn left, take the elevator down, walk forward, turn left, and you're there in two minutes. 1. An unforgettable stay. From the moment of arrival to departure, we experienced the highest level of service and attention to detail. Our room and private onsen were extremely comfortable. We got the two floor marionette room. The private onsen is a game changer for me and my family. My toddler enjoyed the peaceful grounds. It is a close walk to Yunesson park if you have kids that want to water play. Their keiseki dinner meal was delicious and they even set up a bed for our toddler who used it almost as soon as we arrived. The breakfast was also delicious. Would come again.
