We got the two floor marionette room. The private onsen is a game changer for me and my family. My toddler enjoyed the peaceful grounds. It is a close walk to Yunesson park if you have kids that want to water play. It's a fairly traditional Japanese inn; the breakfast and dinner were decent, and the staff were very welcoming. The soundproofing was a bit poor, but otherwise it was quite good. For the price in Hakone, it's pretty good value, and with the Hakone Free Pass, it's convenient to take the train to Gora. It's about a 7-10 minute walk to the station.

This hot spring inn is about a 15-minute walk from Sounzan Station on the cable car line. There is a steep slope on the way there, so if you have concerns about your legs, I recommend asking the inn for a free shuttle to Gora Station. The inn is a little old, but it is kept clean.
