Re Cove Hakone in Hakone

The surroundings are decent, but transportation is inconvenient; I'd recommend staying a bit further down the mountain. The bed I slept on was uneven, with parts already caved in, and the facilities were quite old. The check-in process was incredibly difficult, taking three hours. Because my friend works in Japan, she was repeatedly asked for her work residence permit and her child's proof of identity (she's lived in Japan for ten years and had never encountered such a request). Is it because I'm Chinese? Then, her child, who is under five, was suddenly charged an additional 30% (in Japan, children under six don't usually pay for transport or accommodation). This wasn't mentioned in the booking confirmation either. Overall, the experience wasn't great. During the hot spring bath, with only 20 minutes left, we were told to hurry up because men would be coming in soon. They said it in Japanese, implying that since we aren't Japanese, it's okay for us not to have men around? I really don't understand this hotel. They should just state that they only accept Japanese guests.
