Hakone Yumoto Hotel in Hakone

I've read many negative reviews on this hotel, but I don't see why. There are tons of amenities which many hotels of this price lack (i paid around 28000 jpy per night). And honestly this hotel was the cheapest available for my dates.

Despite of what people say:
The rooms ARE spacious.
There is NO bad smell.
There ARE cups in rooms.
It is in a quiet area.
The receptionist was very nice.
Breakfast starts from 7.30 am.
There are towels in a room.
Yukata, toiletries are all free to take.
Even tons of snacks to take for free as much as you want! FREE drinks, FREE unlimited alcohol (wine, sparkling wine, plum wine, sake, spirits etc). FREE ice cream.
Water in the room is potable.
Public onsen INCLUDED, available till midnight.

Who are those people complaining???!!!
Amazing place!

We had a great experience there. Our room it was huge and clean, had a balcony, dinner room, tatami bedroom and a complete bathroom.
We took a bus to get there, the road was auper tight and without sidewalk, a bit scary.
There's a mini market around, like 5 min walk.

Location a litlle bit far .from Yumoto station we need to take taxi to the hotel.

Rooms: 4 of us stayed in a 8 person room with nice view, and we were able to sleep in separate rooms, the room was clean and the interior was delightful.

Food: we only had breakfast in the hotel (glad we did so) and it was a bit disappointing compare to my other onsen hotel experience. Food selection was limited and the taste was just so-so. Glad we decided to have dinner somewhere else!

Onsen: was quite nice, both men and lady’s section comes with indoor and outdoor pools. Sadly the outdoor pool for men’s was under maintenance the night we stayed, the hubs were quite disappointed.

Service: standard robotic style service. No comment.

Location: on Google map it shows you that walking to Hakone Yumoto station from this hotel only takes about 20 mins. But be minded you need to climb a great amount of stairs to do so if you plan to walk there and back.

Centrally Located nice Hotel to stay.
Quite centrally located hotel, easily accessible to the Hakone station. People who have travel google maps, easy to easy many other location including the stop for Hakune cruise. Slightly disappointment that i coudl not join the Onsen (thermal bath) as i had small tattoes on my hands, though, my family enjoyed. If the hotel can have daily change in the breakfast & dinner (half board package) menu, will help. On the positive front, people who love drinking i.e. beers, sake, wine etc this the place

cheaper one night with dinner buffet and breakfast, good C/P, free parking, nice Spring. good for family trip.

The room facilities are old, but the service is OK. The hot spring ♨️ is quite good.
