Hakone, 97 Yumotochaya, 250-0312 Hakone, uezd Asigarasimo, Prefektura Kanagava, Yaponiya (7 km from centre) 🧭 Map
We had a great experience there. Our room it was huge and clean, had a balcony, dinner room, tatami bedroom and a complete bathroom.
We took a bus to get there, the road was auper tight and without sidewalk, a bit scary.
There's a mini market around, like 5 min walk.
I've read many negative reviews on this hotel, but I don't see why. There are tons of amenities which many hotels of this price lack (i paid around 28000 jpy per night). And honestly this hotel was the cheapest available for my dates.
Despite of what people say:
The rooms ARE spacious.
There is NO bad smell.
There ARE cups in rooms.
It is in a quiet area.
The receptionist was very nice.
Breakfast...
Location a litlle bit far .from Yumoto station we need to take taxi to the hotel.
Rooms: 4 of us stayed in a 8 person room with nice view, and we were able to sleep in separate rooms, the room was clean and the interior was delightful.
Food: we only had breakfast in the hotel (glad we did so) and it was a bit disappointing compare to my other onsen hotel experience. Food selection was limited and the taste was just so-so. Glad we decided to have dinner somewhere else!
Onsen: was...
Centrally Located nice Hotel to stay.
Quite centrally located hotel, easily accessible to the Hakone station. People who have travel google maps, easy to easy many other location including the stop for Hakune cruise. Slightly disappointment that i coudl not join the Onsen (thermal bath) as i had small tattoes on my hands, though, my family enjoyed. If the hotel can have daily change in the breakfast...
cheaper one night with dinner buffet and breakfast, good C/P, free parking, nice Spring. good for family trip.

Our stay at Musashino Bekkan in Hakone was a beautiful and unforgettable experience. The hospitality was exceptional, with staff who made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived. The ryokan’s traditional design and serene atmosphere enhanced the charm of our visit.
The hot spring baths were a true standout—immaculately maintained and incredibly calming, with natural spring water that...
We loved the springs and the authentic experience. The whole hotel is designed to become a place for rest and relaxation. Dinner was great, and breakfast was a bit unusual for us, as we did not quite get the food (it was unusual for us).
Overall, I would recommend staying here.
A true Japanese experience. The onsen was amazing, we were a family and loved it. We also had a great experience with breakfast and dinner, very Japanese! Totally recommend it
The people who served us the meals, especially the elderly woman, were very kind and made us feel genuinely welcomed.
Unfortunately, the experience with the housekeeping staff was quite the opposite. One man entered our room without asking while we were recording a light-hearted video, which made the whole situation feel very awkward. Overall, they came across as rude and also refused to keep our luggage...
This hotel is a paradise in the mountains of Hakone! Traditional style of the rooms - it feels like you are living in a Japanese family. We were prepared a traditional dinner, which was served in our room. It was very tasty and varied! The hotel has 3 onsen: 2 - private, 1 - public. We visited only the private ones (you need to book a time in advance at the reception upon check-in, the visit time is...

Awesome place with great service.
The staff is beyond helpful.
The open-air onsen is beautiful and worth visiting.
The room included dinner and breakfast - everything was of high quality and taste, though if you don't like the fried fish in the morning or pickled vegetables you might not like it.
Will definitely stay again if ever had a chance.
This was, without a doubt, the best hotel I've ever stayed at in Hakone Yumoto.
First, let's talk about the location. It's quite a walk from Hakone Yumoto Station, with lots of uphill sections, so I'd recommend taking a taxi. There's a convenience store about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, but we didn't go because of the uphill return journey.
Secondly, the service. The service here is truly a...
This is outstanding ryokan. Everything was great. Open-air onsen is nice and not overloaded with people.
Dinner and breakfast very tasty and with variety of dishes.
Thank you very much for hospitality.
Amazing hospitality. We were traveling with a one-year-old. We were greeted, accommodated, and explained everything. Everything was done for our comfort. The hot springs were amazing, and we took the opportunity to try the private onsen and spend time with family. Our little one loved it. There's also a ping-pong room downstairs with a play area for children—it was very comfortable! Dinner and breakfast...
A wonderful ryokan, friendly staff, delicious food and a cozy onsen.
It's an amazing place for great price! Staff is very lovely and welcoming, rooms are clean and nicely orginized, onsen is on smaller side but very neat. It's located very close to Hakone station as well. Highly recommend to try it at least once!

Food was great. Room was spacious and clean.
We loved having our own onsen to enjoy and it was wonderful to enjoy traditional meals. There is a free shuttle bus from Hakone Yumoto station to Hakone Yuyo hot spring resort which is right across the street from the hotel that we were able to use. If you have large luggage the shuttle bus doesn't work because it has no luggage storage. It was a short walk to the train to start our Hakone Loop journey...
The food is good, the location requires a walk or a taxi. Comfort Inn
The hotel is in a great location. You can take the free shuttle bus to the Hakone Yuryo next door. The front desk manager is Chinese.
Both dinner and breakfast are very rich, 🉑so it is worth the money~
The traditional Riokan Onsen experience was awesome in this place. The rooms are newly renovated, we had a private onsen with mountain view., the food was amazing and the service was great. It’s was a bit pricey but was worth the experience.
Since it gets dark in Japan as early as 5.30 pm we were in for an adventure trip to find this destination. Although this place is close to the railway station it was so dark that we struggled finding this location. Our disappointment baesd on the spooky trip to this place was soon replaced with joy once we entered this place. Its a beautiful onsen resort with a wonderful staff. The hospitality and...

A wonderful hotel!
The dinner was incredible: beautiful, delicious, and filling. We ate everything. Bring something to help your stomach digest. Wagyu, crab claws, and lots of tasty little appetizers.
The room was wonderful. Very clean, with a beautiful view from the window. They made our beds for us while we were out for dinner. We slept softly.
The onsen is wonderful. There's a shared room with...
Great location, close to the train and funicular stations. There's a very pleasant park nearby, with a teahouse and workshops.
I really liked the hotel itself – the atmosphere, the views from the windows, the living room, and the onsen – amazing. The kaiseki is luxurious, with lots of seafood.
The onsen is simply lovely. So cozy and quiet. You can spend half an hour in a private one.
Perhaps it's better...
It's larger than a family hotel, but smaller than other hotels.
There were many Europeans and Americans, as well as locals.
There was a Chinese waitress who was very attentive and wonderful.
The food was also quite good. 👍
The downsides were the management, which was mediocre. The hotel is located on foot, and I couldn't walk to the nearby bus station, and the management didn't help.
Usually, hotels...
Great view from the hall and from the room, great room itself, as well as dinner and breakfast. Close to the station, easy to get to. I liked everything. The onsen is small, but quite cozy. I recommend it.
An excellent hotel for complete relaxation, the room was huge by Japanese standards in a traditional style, I immersed myself in Japanese culture 😊 And dinner and breakfast were simply amazing, very tasty and very plentiful 😄
In general, if you want to soak in a hot onsen and enjoy the mountains, this hotel is perfect for this!!
Amazing experience. The food was great, the staff was very nice, the onsen was beautiful. There was only one other family in the hotel, so the public onsen almost became private. We were very impressed with the sashimi and wagyu beef dinner. I took off one star for cleanliness, but maybe that was because of the overall "shabby" look of the place (it shows signs of time). Anyway, the atmosphere of the...

Lovely staff, extremely clean hotel, room was massive!!!! So many amenities in the room!!!!!!! Well recommended
This time we were driving, and the hotel is located on a slope, which didn't really affect us. There's a bit of a walk to find food nearby. For travelers without a car, I'd recommend buying food before checking in, as you can cook your own meals here.
The hotel's location is excellent, just about 200 meters from the left exit of Gora Station. However, the hotel signs aren't very clear, and we had to look for a while before we were sure we'd found it. After entering, we had to wait quite a bit before someone came to assist us, which was a bit inconvenient. The room was spacious, but the hot spring bath wasn't very big. Overall, it's still worth recommending...
My child really loved it. The room was spacious enough, and our family of three had a very comfortable stay.
It's a bit old, but the location is great, so it was a good value compared to other places.
First, a heads-up to anyone visiting this hotel: it's located in the Hakone mountains. If you're not driving, please, please be very careful not to get off the train in the wrong direction!
We came down from Owakudani by train and got off at Naka-Gora. Both train doors opened when it arrived, and we exited through the left door. Little did we know, we were in for a world of trouble – I won't go into...

It's a bit disappointing that there's no convenience store nearby, but everything else was fine.
Highly recommended, traditional Japanese style hotel with silk soup. The hotel offers two time slots for dinner at 6pm and 6:30pm every night, and two time slots for breakfast at 8:00am and 8:30am. If you see the standard of their meals, you will understand why they require exact meal times, because their meals are not business hotel buffets, but Kaiseki cuisine level. The staff of this hotel speaks...
The hotel is located near the station, small and beautiful. Hot springs and dinner and breakfast were very nice.
The Japanese-style room was damp and cold, but when I tried to turn on the air conditioner for heating, I could smell mold, maybe it hadn't been cleaned.
The room is very big, very quiet, has a separate hot spring bath, very clean, the dinner is amazing, I like it very much, the landlady is very gentle and kind
Approximately 15 minutes from Hakone Yumoto Station
It is a small hotel, suitable for a quiet rest.
Kaiseki cuisine was delicious and the staff were friendly.
After using the open-air hot spring for 40 minutes without disturbing others, we had dinner.
The changing area at the open-air hot spring is old and needs improvement.
I had a good rest
Japanese style, just so-so, may not be suitable for Chinese people
Hygiene: clean
Environment: OK
Service: The private soup is good, recommended. Breakfast and dinner were not satisfactory. There was no fruit or ice cream at this price, and there was no milk or eggs for breakfast. This hotel is still very stingy.

Fantastic location, just next to the bus stop. Our room is spacious, in fact is the most spacious in the annex. The breakfast is simple yet delicious. The outdoor onsen is small but the ambience is great. The staff is attentive and friendly. We also checked out the Kansuiro main building which is full of history. Overall we had a pleasant stay in Kansuiro Annex.
A wonderful ryokan. A beautiful, clean, comfortable room, delicious breakfast. The hotel provides free access to the main ancient onsen building, and we were lucky to be in the onsen without any people. We had a wonderful time and relaxed.
A very old ryokan founded in 1614, the building is from the beginning of the 20th century. Wood, everything creaks, just great. The main building is practically a museum. The onsen is tattoo friendly, but there is a BIG minus - the water in the onsen shower is chlorinated! It spoils the whole impression. The onsen for men is so-so, the women's, they say, is better.
Booking a hotel is a no-brainer
It's a quaint old building, but it has a nice, lived-in feel.
I found it a little inconvenient that there was no toilet in the room. Also, there are only stairs, so I think it would be difficult for elderly people to stay there.
The room was very clean and had a nice atmosphere! I was grateful that I could use the coffee machine for free.
I LOVED this ryokan!! The room was SO gorgeous, with its traditional Japanese sliding walls and windows and platform bed! It was comfortable, cute, and within walking distance of many restaurants and a train station. The onsen at the annex and the adjoining hotel are ridiculously beautiful, both are outdoors and SO relaxing! I will definitely be returning to stay here again!

A very nice ryokan. We had a room with a beautiful view from the window, and it was very clean. Nothing was broken or damaged. The furniture wasn't new, but that had an authentic charm. A very nice ryokan with nice staff and beautiful view. I was just a bit shocked that they made me pay the food for 2 persons even though I have just booked for one.
The location is eight minutes' drive from the station, but there is a car to pick you up. The hotel has a beautiful environment and first-class air. But the hotel is a bit old. The staff provided attentive service, and since this is an inn that primarily caters to dogs, we enjoyed our stay without any worries. The food was also delicious.
There was a hot spring for dogs, and we gave them a good shampoo before taking a dip.
My dog's skin seemed to be in good condition afterwards.
Even though it's a dog-friendly inn, the slippery floors are a real problem. The rooms are quite small and not very relaxing, but both the large public bath and the in-room bath are hot springs, so you can soak in the pure white sulfur spring! You have to walk uphill with your luggage, which is inconvenient because the slope is very steep, especially for the elderly. Since it's deep in the mountains, getting food is only convenient for those with a car; otherwise, it will be very arduous. However, instant noodles are available at the restaurants.
The interior is quite good. The environment is nice and the cleanliness is excellent. It was a great experience. I hope to stay here again if I have the chance. The front desk staff was very friendly and the check-in process was very smooth.
I really liked the onsen and the in room onsen. The property area seems kind of dangerous if it snows but it’s in a nice somewhat secluded place. Wish it had mover of a view from my room when using the in room onsen.

Getting to the accommodation via public transport can be a bit of a penance as you can either take a bus or a taxi however i found taking the bus to be the only option as there were limited taxis in the area and waited roughly 10mins to find one.
