Reviews
We were very happy with this onsen hotel. Our room was very large, the western style beds were great and the bathroom was terrific. The onsen was clean and the water temperature perfect. We had 2 breakfasts and one dinner here. The food was traditional Ryokan style and delicious. The staff were very friendly and all had a little English and some had good English.
I am surprised but some of the poor reviews. I thought the hotel was a hidden gem with only 2 minor negatives: the hotel is only 250 metres from the bus stop but older guests with heavy luggage will get a workout as they climb the slope. We were there in low season when the hotel did not serve dinner on Monday or Tuesday. However a wide range of restaurants were a short bus ride away.

The room is clean, but the performance of the heater is low and it is cold in winter.
The rice is like the kind you get at a gyudon restaurant, and it smells like it's been cooked for about 24 hours.
The side dishes are all complete with meat hanamasa.
Perhaps the head chef was on vacation that day. Except for Chinese cabbage and pickles, they were all frozen or bagged side dishes.
In a way, it's refreshing, but I thought it would be better not to lose customers if I didn't go that far.
I think that the number of employees in the field is working hard with a small number of people.
It's a classic example of how sales (and their upper management) are screwed up.
It is a wasteful inn.

Stayed in a very beautiful, spacious traditional japanese room. Service was great. Very nice personnel that provided me and my friend with beautiful Yukatas to wear after bath. Onsen was small but still beautiful and clean. Had a really great experience here.
Ridiculously overpriced, 1-star in European terms
Such a beautiful sight to behold. Placed between the gorgeous Hakone forest trees. Inside it's quite modern but with a strong Japanese feel. Sliding doors, floor beds, traditional gowns given to us to wear during our stay. The staff were very nice, gave us a tour of our room and how to use the facilities. They were also kind enough to call up our pick up service for us when we checked out. It was a 4 degree celsius night when we stayed but I ended up sleeping without covers as we were toasty and warm indoors. Good heating and insulation. Was a great experience :)
