Amazing experience here.... One that we will remember fondly for sure !!
Amazing experience with the hotel dining in a private room, loved the onsen in our room , only wished we could spend more nights here !
Thank you for making our first Ryokan experience a memorable on
The overall service and facilities were excellent, especially the open-air bath in the room, which was fantastic. It was a bit disappointing, however, that we couldn't arrange dinner on Christmas Eve and had to eat out.
fabulous experience - food was interesting and delicious.
the room was lovely looking out to the Mountains with our Private bath...
the service was lovely....
I would recommend this as a Ryokan experience. Just use the luggage transfer service from arrival at the Station in Hakone to save you getting your bags up the hill.....
its easy to come down when leaving.
The staff were really helpful and really nice
The food was great too
The room is really nice and has the sauna in the room. It is really private but when showering you need to sit on the stool to ensure the opposite no one is looking at you
Well service.Staff was very nice and helpful. We are so surprised the food.
Very Appreciate.Look forward next time.

This is the best Ryokan I have visited in Japan. I’d like to stay again soon.
Thank you to the hotel for the surprise flowers 💐 and the thoughtful butler service! They also replied to my emails very quickly, which was great!
The most amazing experience of this trip to Japan... I'll just show you the pictures, words can't describe it. Even the skincare products were exceptionally good; I want to buy some, but I don't know the brand. I saw them at the hotel, please reply!
A top choice for hot springs, with a variety of private baths to satisfy all your needs. The Japanese breakfast and kaiseki dinner were both delicious, with different dishes served on two separate days. It truly lives up to the saying, "Expensive things are good in every way except for the price!" I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Hakone for hot springs.
The highlight of this trip was staying at this hotel. First of all, for hot spring lovers, this hotel has both private baths in the room and private baths that require payment, as well as excellent public hot springs. The hot springs are very unique, with dense bamboo forests outside, creating a beautiful and private environment. The hotel's food is also of excellent quality. Unlike popular buffets...
The hot spring in the room and the private and public baths are both very good. The hotel meals are also OK.

An amazing experience! Everything was perfect, the food was delicious and the staff incredibly kind. Gurum-san took care of us and was very kind and warm toward us.
Thank you very much, Hananoyado Fukuya! Can’t wait to visit you again.
As first timers in Japan, we were not expecting how long and exhausting the Hakone loop would be. This place was a true resting spot for us after a hectic day. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us when we were running late. Dinner was delicious. The open air onsen was dreamy and romantic. The room was so comfortable! We were even able to see Fuji-san in the morning 🏔 and left feeling very...
Superb Ryokan with private Onsen in every room and also a bigger onsen for the use of the hotel guest that turns private when someone is using it. Amazing quality of Kaiseki food for dinner and Breakfast. Japanese style rooms with Tatami and bed set on the floor (difficult if you have a bad back as we do) Its located just a half block of the main road and lake but on an steep slope. Difficult to get...
My partner and I stopped here for a night after a hectic week in Tokyo, and it’s been the highlight of our trip. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the sightseeing cruise on lake ashi. The private bath was extremely relaxing; we got in 5 times in our one night stay. The breakfast is extremely worth the price, especially for the table side experience. Lastly- we couldn’t find any taxis...
Incredibly relaxing atmosphere, right from the reception area. Exactly what was needed after a busy week with a lot of moving around!
Private onsen outside the room was secluded and tranquil, the water was hot enough to soak all tension away.
After a great night's sleep in the quiet, calm room, breakfast was a wonderful treat. An enormous variety of beautifully prepared food, delivered to the room...
The room was very cozy, a very typical Japanese inn. My baby loved the tatami and the chairs at the tea table. The breakfast was excellent, with good color, aroma and taste, rich dishes, and several rounds of drinks. Although we didn't dine in the room, we were in a separate dining room as a family, which was a unique experience.
The private bath is also great and comfortable.
It is just a short walk...

We had an amazing stay! Will definitely book again in the future.
Room is huge for Japanese standard , of course we paid a lot for it.
It may have looked good 10 years ago but it is only ok in today’s standard .
Bad thing - NO VIEW ! our room with a Huge balcony faced a car park , I guess that’s why they sell this room to Non-Members . Thus the Balcony serve no purpose bcos there’s no view .
Parking is easy , including access to basement parking .

I didn't get the service I expected. The room was spacious and the amenities were good, but the customer service was a bit off. I felt like they prioritized employees over the customer experience.
While relaxing in the open-air bath in your room, look at the river flowing right next to you, close your eyes and listen to the sound of the flow. Heavenly paradise.
Ordered in a hurry the day before. Many hotels in Hakone, such as Kanaya and Hiramatsu, have been visited, but this hotel has a very good mood, because the baths are from two sources, the rooms are kept clean, and there are many children with children. excellent attitude towards food, the fact that the food, mainly consisting of fish, is not cost-effective, and the sound of the water and the night...

Since we were on a hot spring trip, the hot spring water was the most important factor in choosing a ryokan. Since the private rooms didn't have bathrooms, the price was relatively low. Since we were traveling with my daughters and staying on a Sunday, the communal hot spring was quiet, which was great. The hot spring water made my skin smooth. The Glass Museum is nearby, and after the Togendai Port...
Good service & nice room with friendly staff
Beautiful and super comfortable room, they speak good English and the nonsense is a spectacle.
I really enjoyed it. It was my first time at a ryokan. I liked the onsen too, but we didn't take the private one, but the prices were very reasonable. The kaiseki is good. I wish the breakfast had more variety. The main thing is the Friendly tattoo.
It’s a beautiful ryokan with a good onsen. It’s tatoo friendly, it was important for me. There were a lot of the Japaneses, so I think it is also a good sign for the place. Staff knows English very well and dinners and breakfasts was tasty
It was an amazing experience. Very high quality service, insanely delicious kaiseki dinner and breakfast. Booked a private onsen for 45 min, unbelievable! Very authentic. There is a staff that speaks English.

The room was clean, a standard Japanese-style room, but it didn't have a private bathroom; we had to use the communal onsen for showers. The location was serene, with a lovely Japanese countryside view, and there were some good restaurants nearby. For the price, it offered great value. You definitely need a car to get here, as the nearest bus stop is a 10-minute walk away.
Location a bit far from Hakone main train station.
Rooms abit aged
Facilities needs improved
The room is a traditional Japanese Style. The environment was very relaxing and surrounded by nature. The hot spring was amazing with bamboo forest surrounding which gives the most calming vibe.
The price is reasonable, which I think is great!
The room was quite comfortable, and the hot spring bath was very convenient. However, the transportation is not convenient, making it unsuitable for those with large suitcases.

Convenient location (right next to the bus stop and sightseeing cruise departure), Mac the host was friendly and very helpful and spoke good English.
MaC was amazing as a host. We loved his hospitality, friendless and advice. His accomodations were simple, clean and sufficient for our 1 night stay. Breakfast was yummy. Thank you MaC!
A very personal, family-run place with exceptionally kind owners who really go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and included. The host is chatty, speaks good English, and even took everyone out in the morning to see a great view of Mount Fuji — a lovely gesture, though maybe a bit much if you prefer privacy or a quieter stay. The property itself is older and simple, with limited amenities...
Hakone 💎 Gem
Mr. Mack is very accommodating, shares knowledge of Japan, guided us with traditional Japanese etiquette, food was good, water from Mt. hakone is better than the bottled water! 😀 place is bus accessible, close to the boats, this place is clean, and hospitable.
The room was a decent size and clean, though very cold if you turned the aircon off.The gentlemen at the front of house was a joy, very witty and so helpful, planned our route to the airport for us.

I booked a room with a private onsen, and the room itself was incredibly spacious. You never have to worry about Japan's high standards for cleanliness; it was so clean and comfortable to stay in. It was truly blissful to go straight from showering to soaking in the onsen! Breakfast was delivered to a separate dining area right across from our room, with each room having its own dedicated dining space...
Suimeisou's location is fantastic. For our family of three with a child, it was incredibly convenient to walk to the hotel with our luggage right after arriving at Hakone-Yumoto Station. The price for three people for two nights and three days was 7500 RMB. The hotel front desk staff and the ladies in charge were all very welcoming. If we had any questions, we could call our dedicated butler. Since...
Excellent! Very Japanese. If you want to experience Japanese culture, give this a try.
The room was tiny, nothing like the pictures! There wasn't even space to put our luggage...
The public onsen was just a plain pool, completely lacking any ambiance or nice surroundings.
We paid extra for a private onsen, but it was only good for photos... (And you could even see the hotel across the way while soaking).
The toilet paper 🧻 in this hotel was as thin as what you'd find in a public restroom...
Hakone Suimeisou, although not cheap, is truly a great value-for-money onsen ryokan in Hakone when you consider its location, facilities, ambiance, and service. The hot springs are genuine, and both the room and meals are very high-class. It would be even better if it were a bit more affordable.
The biggest advantage is probably its proximity to Yumoto Station. You don't even need to go upstairs from the second floor; just walk to the end, turn left, take the elevator down, walk forward, turn left, and you're there in two minutes.
1. I planned to explore Hakone during the day and knew I'd miss dinner, so I only booked breakfast instead of the half-board option. That turned out to be a great...

We took a bus to get there, the road was auper tight and without sidewalk, a bit scary.
There's a mini market around, like 5 min walk.
I've read many negative reviews on this hotel, but I don't see why. There are tons of amenities which many hotels of this price lack (i paid around 28000 jpy per night). And honestly this hotel was the cheapest available for my dates.

A true Japanese experience. The onsen was amazing, we were a family and loved it. We also had a great experience with breakfast and dinner, very Japanese! Totally recommend it
The people who served us the meals, especially the elderly woman, were very kind and made us feel genuinely welcomed.

This was, without a doubt, the best hotel I've ever stayed at in Hakone Yumoto.
First, let's talk about the location. It's quite a walk from Hakone Yumoto Station, with lots of uphill sections, so I'd recommend taking a taxi. There's a convenience store about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, but we didn't go because of the uphill return journey.

It's a good place, for the first time I managed to live in a traditional Japanese style, I liked everything, I advise everyone!
I originally thought that the Hakone Onsen Hotel was too expensive and the cost-effectiveness of traveling alone was not high, so I chose a youth hostel. The experience of 3 days and 2 nights was more than I expected.

Clean and sanitary, with hot spring facilities.
The service was excellent
Suitable for solo travel
But the location is really bad
There are only one or two buses passing by in an hour, otherwise you have to walk up the mountain for 10-15 minutes.

Just to note, it is an uphill walk from the train station. There is a bus but it is not very frequent.

Great location, close to the train and funicular stations. There's a very pleasant park nearby, with a teahouse and workshops.
I really liked the hotel itself – the atmosphere, the views from the windows, the living room, and the onsen – amazing. The kaiseki is luxurious, with lots of seafood.

Amazing experience. The food was great, the staff was very nice, the onsen was beautiful. There was only one other family in the hotel, so the public onsen almost became private. This time we were driving, and the hotel is located on a slope, which didn't really affect us. There's a bit of a walk to find food nearby. For travelers without a car, I'd recommend buying food before checking in, as you can cook your own meals here.
The hotel's location is excellent, just about 200 meters from the left exit of Gora Station. However, the hotel signs aren't very clear, and we had to look for a while before we were sure we'd found it. The hotel is located near the station, small and beautiful. Hot springs and dinner and breakfast were very nice.
The Japanese-style room was damp and cold, but when I tried to turn on the air conditioner for heating, I could smell mold, maybe it hadn't been cleaned.
The room is very big, very quiet, has a separate hot spring bath, very clean, the dinner is amazing, I like it very much, the landlady is very gentle and kind
Approximately 15 minutes from Hakone Yumoto Station
It is a small hotel, suitable for a quiet rest.
Kaiseki cuisine was delicious and the staff were friendly.
After using the open-air hot spring for 40 minutes without disturbing others, we had dinner.
The changing area at the open-air hot spring is old and needs improvement.
I had a good rest
Japanese style, just so-so, may not be suitable for Chinese people

Fantastic location, just next to the bus stop. Our room is spacious, in fact is the most spacious in the annex. The breakfast is simple yet delicious. The outdoor onsen is small but the ambience is great. The staff is attentive and friendly. We also checked out the Kansuiro main building which is full of history. Overall we had a pleasant stay in Kansuiro Annex.
A wonderful ryokan. A beautiful, clean, comfortable room, delicious breakfast. The hotel provides free access to the main ancient onsen building, and we were lucky to be in the onsen without any people. We had a wonderful time and relaxed.
A very old ryokan founded in 1614, the building is from the beginning of the 20th century. Wood, everything creaks, just great. The main building is practically a museum. The onsen is tattoo friendly, but there is a BIG minus - the water in the onsen shower is chlorinated! It spoils the whole impression. The onsen for men is so-so, the women's, they say, is better.
Booking a hotel is a no-brainer
It's a quaint old building, but it has a nice, lived-in feel.
I found it a little inconvenient that there was no toilet in the room. Also, there are only stairs, so I think it would be difficult for elderly people to stay there.

I'm leaving a review of my two-night stay alone in a double room.
Location: Shinjuku - Hakone-Yumoto Station (Romancecar/1 hour 20 minutes) - Ryokan (J-Line bus/40-50 minutes). The Romancecar ride is convenient. If you take the J-Line bus, it's crowded, so you'll have to stand.
When checking out, ask the receptionist and they'll give you a ride back to the station.
Cleanliness: The bedding, closet...
A very nice ryokan with nice staff and beautiful view. I was just a bit shocked that they made me pay the food for 2 persons even though I have just booked for one.
The location is eight minutes' drive from the station, but there is a car to pick you up. The hotel has a beautiful environment and first-class air. But the hotel is a bit old. The dinner and breakfast were delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful, and there was someone ready to make the bed at night.
all is wonderful! Service on the best level. We’re in Japan at first and want to come back!;)

It's absolutely wonderful to spend a night here.
The property was absolutely wonderful. We had the best host. The traditional, hot spring baths were wonderful That is a traditional Japanese hotel a very comfortable and welcoming, and it made for fantastic memories
I had such a wonderful stay! The room, location, amenities, and staff were lovely. I enjoyed the included meals and private onsen.
Amazingly friendly staff. They went out of their way to arrange vegetarian breakfast and dinner for my wife on a short notice.
Private onsen after a long day was great.
Dinner on both nights had different menu. It was one of the best sushi I ever had.
Overall it was a great experience for us!!
Excellent service by the staff, excellent experience of food both breakfast and omakase!
It was a really amazing stay! Service is amazing, food is amazing, environment is amazing and of course the onsen! Welcome everyone to come here!

The staff provided attentive service, and since this is an inn that primarily caters to dogs, we enjoyed our stay without any worries. The food was also delicious.
There was a hot spring for dogs, and we gave them a good shampoo before taking a dip.
My dog's skin seemed to be in good condition afterwards.
Even though it's a dog-friendly inn, the slippery floors are a real problem. The rooms are quite small and not very relaxing, but both the large public bath and the in-room bath are hot springs, so you can soak in the pure white sulfur spring! I also liked that the food was delicious and they took a commemorative photo of us at dinner and gave it to us as a gift. There's also a hot spring for dogs...
We stayed overnight starting yesterday. The hotel is in a great location and is a comfortable place for families with dogs to stay! The room bath is fed by a hot spring, so we were able to relax in it. There was also a hot spring for dogs! We were able to eat our meals with our dog! There was even a chair just for dogs, so he enjoyed it. We ordered a set course meal, and he happily ate it all. The...
The room and building were beautiful. The view was also spectacular.
We had the chef's special.
The cooking method, balance with the sauce, and temperature were all perfect. 😥 The portions were large.
The amuse-bouche was the best. 💦
I was surprised they used pre-made potato salad. 🤣
The dog run felt a bit forced, but it was fine for a small dog.
Thank you to the female staff member with glasses...
This hotel was an awesome experience, I honestly dont think there is a better place to stay if you just want to relax, the rooms were spacious, clean, and the beds are comfortable. The food served on the premise is also tasty, it's all you can eat!
