Let me start with this, on my second day of my trip, on the way to karakol i got into an accident in the minibus, which caused 5 deaths
I was in a terrible mental state and somehow reached karakol after a little hitchhiking with a local
I had booked my stay at this guest house and as I entered, the owner, katsya saw me and saw the state I was in, first question she asked was what happened? I can’t explain how happy I was to encounter the first english speaker since that disaster
She made me sit in the lounge and heard me out and comforted me like family when she heard about the terrible experience I went through
She reassured me that usually mini buses are fine and they are generally safer than taxis as you cannot trust a taxi man far away from the city
After that she told me that no matter what, I had to have breakfast, confirmed the time I would wake up, and immediately notified her chef to provide me with whatever I wanted
Her kindness helped me a great ton mentally, while I was thinking to cut my trip short and return to my home country, Bahrain, the very next day, her words gave me hope about sticking around and finding positivity in the trip
The next morning I woke up and asked her if she had recommendations, she gave me all the information I could use about all the available hikes
I ended up choosing altyn arshan, she put the location on the map, ordered a taxi, and told me to reach there, walk straight, follow the river for 5-6 hours and check int the first hut I see on my right, yeah as simple as that XD
She had made a reservation for me and all of it exactly as planned!
After going up I made many friends and as I came down, I could’ve made my way to Bishkek the same day but I wanted to stay one more night at the evergreen guest house,
Not only because of katsyas wonderful hospitality and feeling of home, but the beauty of the guest house alone
The amenities are not even found in 5 star hotels outside, perfumed natural incense, cleanliness, amazing aesthetic furniture, perfumed towels,
All these little things which made the stay beyond a 5 star experience
The breakfast provided was huge with a great variety and very tasty food
The apples in the garden, the beautiful peaceful vibe this property gives cannot be compared to any other hotel or guest house I’ve stayed in
The trip went amazing from there, I did a lot more hikes, and eventually returned home safely,
But I have to say, if it wasn’t for the caring nature of the hosts here, I would’ve 100% booked flights back home the very next day.
I cannot thank katsya and her team enough!

A very lovely place run by a family, with a nice and well-maintained garden full of fruit. Breakfast is included, featuring jams made from fruits grown in the garden. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend it to anyone.

Evergreen Guesthouse in Karakol was honestly one of the best places I have stayed during my numerous travels. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming—just one of those people who makes you feel right at home straight away. The free breakfast was amazing, super fresh and filling, and way better than I expected. It was a treat to eat three different home-made jams with Russian pancakes. Plus, I was also able to do my laundry for free, which was such a nice surprise and super helpful after being on the road for a while. Just a really cozy, thoughtful place with great vibes all around. And if you like cats then you are for a treat. They are super friendly and wonderful around kids.

Lovely place to stay. It felt directly like a second home. The homeowner is also really friendly and speaks perfectly English. Perfect for more days to explore the area.

One of the best guesthouse in Karakol, everything here is really great, rooms, breakfast, bathroom. The atmosphere is really quite, just little bit away from noisy city center but you can do everything by feet.
Also the owner Katusha has been very helpful during our stay, she speaks very well english and she knows many things about the region.
Thank you again for your help :)

We have stayed 4 days in this lovely house with my girlfriend. Katya and her friend were really helpful and they did their best to make us feel home. They provide laundry service as well and in the breakfast they do serve delicious homemade jams as well. Karakol is big and small city. You need to walk everywhere or take a taxi to any place for 90soms. As long as you are taking taxi, go and stay with these lovely people. You will not regret for a bit

We stayed here two nights in August. The host is super friendly and helpful and the rooms are beautiful and clean. The friendly dog walking around the nice garden is a bonus! Great place to start/end your hikes around Karakol!

Katusha, the host, is an excellent manager. The guesthouse has an authentic touch, yet very modern and comfortable. There is a washing machine, which is a great bonus for trekkers. Breakfast was superb. The best one in Kyrgyzstan so far. The guesthouse has a nice garden and you can eat apples and apricots right from the tree. They offer vegetarian options for breakfast as well, which is not always easy to find in Kyrgyzstan.
