Description

Paradisus Cancún is a large 5-star beachfront resort built in 1989 and renovated in 2006, featuring a unique design inspired by Mayan temples. It contains 678 rooms spread across five 3-5 story pyramid-style buildings. The hotel offers extensive facilities including eight restaurants, three bars, four outdoor pools, a YHI Spa center, tennis court, and a golf course nearby. Family travelers will find dedicated amenities such as a children’s pool, kids club for ages 5 to 12, and babysitting services on request for an additional fee. Guests booking the Family Concierge or Royal Service options receive exclusive benefits like private check-in, premium snacks, and access to special lounges. The resort emphasizes diverse activities, providing free water sports lessons, snorkeling, aerobics, and a fitness center. While the hotel maintains an 8.7/10 rating, reviews praise the attentive and friendly staff, especially restaurant and bar teams, but note some issues with room maintenance and sales pressure from management. Overall, Paradisus Cancún combines broad amenities with a distinctive architectural style to suit families, couples, and groups seeking a comprehensive all-inclusive experience.

Location

Located in Cancún’s Hotel Zone on the beachfront, Paradisus Cancún sits only 50 meters from a public sandy beach stretching 800 meters along the coast. The hotel is 11 km from Cancún International Airport and about 15 km from the city center, with a 25-minute drive to downtown Cancún. Nearby amenities include the Aqua World water sports center adjacent to the hotel, offering paid activities. The resort is also within 5 minutes from a shopping center. For dining outside the hotel, the highly rated Tempo restaurant is just 41 meters away, although reviews mention some issues with its dress code enforcement. A McDonald’s is located 305 meters from the hotel for quick meals. These nearby options add convenience for guests exploring beyond the resort’s extensive on-site restaurants and bars.

Tips

  • Check your assigned room carefully on arrival to report any maintenance issues immediately, as some guests have faced problems with cleanliness and broken fixtures.
  • To secure a lounge chair on the beach, arrive early since free seating is limited and paid beach beds cost around $250 per day.
  • If you prefer a quieter and more exclusive experience, consider booking the Royal Service for private check-in and dedicated facilities.

I stayed for seven days at this hotel in Cancun and had a wonderful vacation! The room service was excellent — my room was always clean. The staff were super friendly and helpful, especially Pascual and Oscar at the buffet. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.

There were also some young girls who played with the kids and made sure they had lots of fun — they were so sweet and caring! My child loved spending time with them.

Overall, amazing service and great atmosphere. Definitely five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The hotel is saved by it's fantastic hard working restaurant and bar staff. Every morning for breakfast (and often lunch) we relaxed on the outdoor terrace at the Buffet restaurant and were looked after by Alberto and Joni who were an absolute pleasure to talk to and excellent hosts. Thank you also to them from our 2 young children who were treated just as well as the grown ups.

We also enjoyed Aqua Marina where we were looked after by Erick, Wilbert and Sergio during the lunch service and Roberto in the evening.

Jesus at Capello, Melvin at Cielo and Daniel at Lemon Fish also are fantastic waiters.

For the people above, and for many more incredibly hard working staff around the pool and beach - they are working at 5 star standard all day long. Management need to look to themselves for areas that are making global review scores lower - and take the pressure off their employees.

The issue here at management level is greed. On the run up to the stay there was frequent contact from concierge services but only with a view to selling room upgrades or experience packages. Simple requests like a room on a higher floor or in a quieter area were squarely ignored once it was clear that no further cash could be extracted.

Fending off regular approaches from the 'circle club' sales team to attend seminars - not what I want to do on holiday. Some staff are clearly under pressure to sell upgrades for wine or 'chefs specials' and the daily rounds from the Spa and watersports excursions team. It can all lead to the need to say no thank you 10 times a day and walk around not making eye contact to avoid sales approaches.

The big problem with our stay was the room we were allocated on the first night. It was actively dirty with blood on the vanity worktop. Light switches were cracked, lamps didn't work and I killed 5 cockroaches in the bathroom. It was an extremely unpleasant environment and to top it all - incredibly noisy. This room was in dire need of renovation and shouldn't be in use currently for paying guests.

The response from reception was very disinterested - they processed a room change request which required me to return to reception at 0900 and again at 1500 to move room. Very disruptive to the holiday and absolutely zero concern about the state of the room. The reception team even suggested the next room might be in the same condition so there was no point moving. No apology was ever offered either.

The complaints process was dissatisfactory and I have since received a refund via my credit card company for the night spent in a dirty room. The hotel refused to refund but offered an upgrade voucher for a future stay which i declined.

The hotel itself occupies a huge amount of beach front and as a result has stunning views from all around the pool areas and lots of the dining and drinking areas. The building is old but there is a constant effort being made to maintain improve and re-paint areas. The food was excellent. Drinks selection also fantastic and the bar tenders in the mixology bar made incredible cocktails. Kanna Beach Bar is the perfect spot for the final drink before getting ready for the evening.

Our first time to Cancun. This resort is the reason our lives changed forever when it comes to vacation. We use to go to Hawaii but since we've discovered this place and a fraction of the price, we dont even talk about visiting Hawaii anymore. This hotel is just all around an amazing place right next to the beach. Many reasons we will keep coming back. Gabby the bartender was so kind. We call her our Cancun best friend lol. She was absolutely so fun to be around and just a genuinely sweet and kind girl.

This was my first trip to Mexico. I fell in Love. Paradisus gave true vacation vibes! From the events to the food to the gorgeous balcony view i had, everything was well worth it! Im seriously thinking about coming back next spring. It was hard to leave, esp for my 5 year old!

Really enjoyed the property. Great food, staff, and location. Only thing I will say is check your room and make sure nothing is broken when you first check in. Report it immediately if so. I got charged $160 usd for the closest door that was already broken. We didn’t even use the closest during our stay. So we didn’t know to report anything. We opened the door to enter the room & it bumped the closest causing it to fall over and the shutters went everywhere. They “replaced”the door but didn’t even put it back on the tracks. So we just had to tilt it at a slant to make sure it didn’t fall again. The property was closing for renovations towards the end of our stay for 2 years. So I’m assuming they were trying to just get as much extra money as they could before closing.

Had a great time spending a week long vacation at Paradisus Cancun. The interior of the hotel and the food was better than we were anticipating. Staff was very kind, helpful, and attentive.

Anabel at Flora was an exceptional waitress. The food was fresh, light, and delicious.

Abraham and Carina from Ginger were excellent. The Tequila and Mezcal tasting were top notch and I learned a lot about the local drinks.

Daniel the entertainment coordinator was great. He planned fun activities everyday and we really enjoyed his energy.

Hotel was a bit dated (however they are going to renovate at the end of May for a year) and the pool looked like it needed to be filled up with more water.

The only thing I didn’t like was the room service. They stole our wine bottle or they took it back.

The Reserve was excellent- included 2 days of daybed reservations by the pool and concierge that booked all excursions and dinner reservations nightly.

Food was better than other all inclusive resorts that I’ve stayed at in Cancun. However, some of the steaks at Sal’s weren’t edible (Top Sirloin). The shortrib was great.

The nightly entertainment shows were 6/10. The last bar (Ginger) closes at 11pm which was fine for us as we went to bed around then.

Overall would recommend for couples vacation.

Loved the location. The Reserve adults only building was perfect for our needs. The resort is absolutely beautiful, can’t wait to see it after the remodel.

id give this place less stars if I could me and my family had made a reservation months before for my mothers birthday once we had a arrived at Tempo. we were asked if we had a reservation my father pointed it out to her and then they informed us that their is a dress code and slacks were not ok looking directly at me. At no point during the making of the reservation were we informed that slacks were not acceptable. they said they had pants so I ask for the biggest pair and they then refused to give it to me she ended up bringing her manager over and I informed him that the exclusivity of the dress code was abusrd and that if we were paying money to eat here what did it matter. the manger then kicked me out. I have eaten at many of the six star Michelin restaurants and never had an issue with being seated until this establishment witch uses a dress code as a way to not serve people that they deem are not fit to eat there. declining service to people because of what their wearing to dinner is outdated and absurd and if my family is willing to pay that kind of money to eat their it shouldn't matter what we show up in. the exclusiveness of this restaurant is ridiculous and the manger was a pretentious prick who felt I me a teenager was disrespecting him by not asking for a specific pair of pants and expressing concern with the absurdity of the exclusive ness of their dress code. he then had a member of the hotel security follow us as we looked for a different place to eat.

We were there for a quick snack... they didn't have water in the bathrooms so they were REALLY dirty we couldn't use them, in general the place was dirty... fries tasted like old rancid oil, everything else just ok, the service was friendly.

The worst McDonald's in the Whole Wide World, restrooms are extremely dirty, and broken and they smell awful, stairs are about to fall off, the roof has leakings when it rains, yesterday I went there by car, the guy on the drive thru took my order, he repeated the order and when I got the next window they told me they did not understood that I ordered, and it took them 28 minutes to make 2 hamburgers, french fries who by the way they were cold, they forgot to add ketchup, straws and napkins. When I went down and told them they forgot everything they just did not know what to do. ( And the prize for the worst McDonald's in the world goes for this one).

Welcoming and kind staff. Food was great. Exceeded expectations. Ketchup tasted the same as US ketchup. Has ample seating on its second floor.
