We stayed at the Balchug Hotel for just one day in mid-October. We are glad that among Moscow hotels of this level, our choice fell on the Balchug Kempinski. In a word, it is Quality - both in general and in the smallest details! I would like to note the hotel staff. Absolutely everyone is attentive and friendly! I had a great stay there at the hotel.. The staff are so friendly and we didn’t have difficulty in communicating with them as they are fluent in English.. The location is close to the red square by 10 minutes of walk.. Also, i lost my rings at the hotel but they kept them there for me, it’s because of their integrity.. Thanks a lot!

Rooms are not vacuumed daily. Staff do not speak English which is a problem specially at the restaurant as we got sick twice from food allergy.

Booked a luxury deluxe room, they upgraded us to suite 805, this room has to be the best hotel room, or any appartments in Moscow. The room was on the highest level, and overlooked every Moscow attraction, the Kremlin, St Basils, Red Square, cathedral of Christ the saviour, 3 of Stalin sisters, and many more, what a great place to finish our holiday in Russia. The hotel is in a good location, in the city center, has a swimming pool, hot springs, and gym, and the service is average. The facilities are a bit old and the breakfast is rich. There were unsafe factors. I was harassed by people knocking on the door and making phone calls. I was slightly frightened. I later applied to change rooms and slept peacefully for a night.

Friendly staff. I does not have enough Russian Rubles when I reached hotel, I was planning to leave my bulky luggage in hotel and go out for exchange. The friendly receptionist Magarita told me it's Sunday, so most of the money changer are closed and I may pay the money once I get exchange the next day. I really feel so touched and heartwarming that she trusted me.

The room was not the one in the picture, but much worse. When I commented on this matter the answer from the staff was "It's a different category" - So, why do you use a different category picture for my booking? Clearly purposely misleading.

Really excellent hotel, we arrived at 9.30 am after night long train ride and we managed to check in earlier thanks to nice receptionist. Rooms are quiet, good dark curtains, spacious bathroom. I really wanted to give a 4 stars to this hotel: the staff is not very friendly but given the location the price is you pay is a very good one. Unfortunately, I have to give them 3 stars for the crazy air conditioning system they had: there is no way to turn it off (it is centralized) so the only solution they gave us was to put an electronic stove in the room. In reality, it is not a hotel but a b&b. The owner gives all, working by myself, 24/7. Unfortunately the walls are very thin, and is not infrequently wake up to the casino of the other guests (russians, maleducatissimi) and of the managers, who cry out from 6 in the morning. The room is clean, everything you need is there. The only point is poor sound insulation. You can hear everything that happens in the next room. Early in the morning, small children started running around the corridor and screaming. If you do not pay attention to it, then it is quite good for spending the night.

The hotel was close to Red Square and easily accessible on foot. The reception desk was staffed by Turkish speakers, a significant advantage for a Turk in Russia. The room was a perfect size for two people. Breakfast, while not particularly satisfying for Turkish guests, was delicious.
