Hipotels Mercedes Aparthotel in Cala Millor

We went for a 11 day holidays with a family of 5. The common space in the hotel is clean and ok. We had a lot of space in the family room. Living room with see view balcony, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. The rooms are not cleaned every day which is inconvenient if you have a large family as you produce quite a lot of trash that is not taken The beds are not comfortable. It's a steel frame with a materace and that frame is creaking a lot! Very unpleasant experience especially if you don't want to wake up your little child that is sleeping next to you in a child bed or if you want to be quiet if you know what I mean :-) Boring breakfast - the same thing every day. There are options to choose from but it's very limited. Dinner - live cooking every day; good variety; Important! - no free drinks at the dinner. I understand alcoholic drinks or juice. What makes it worse is that there is even no free water! This is absurd. Juice and water is free for the breakfast so why not for the dinner? This is not a Spanish hotel. It's German. Staff even being local, they speak German a lot. When I said "gracias" they replied "bitte". This makes you not feel like in an another country on vacations (we are not German). The beach is beautiful!! Shallow for quite a long way. There are some rocks but if you move just few meters to the left it's all pure sand there. There is a lifeguard at post. Though it was mid of the season, there were a lot of tourists, it wasn't a problem to find a spot on the beach. Although if you want to have a sunbed you need to wake up early (7am) to reserve one. You have to stay there until the guy comes in to collect money (8am) and only then you can leave back to the hotel. If you just leave your towel (which I don't like) the guy just takes it down and makes the sunbed free again (which I like :-) ) Check out is at 12:00 and there is an option to have late check out but they tell you to ask for it a day before your leave. When we did that, no room was left for us. This ****** a lot as we had to stay until the late evening until we could departure and we have a 1 year old child that have to have a day rest sleeping. They were not interested to provide us any kind of other room just to put the little one to sleep in a room that had AC. The good thing is that you can still use the facilities and they provide you with towels so you can refresh yourself before leaving. Overall it wasn't totally bad but was definitely not worth the money we had to pay.

The location of this hotel and being so close to the sea with a nice view from the balcony was lovely however that was it.
Rooms were very dated and just didn’t feel clean and the rooms and inside the hotel smelled like dust.
On one day it rained so we went to use the indoor pool however this was absolutely filthy and a €6 charge to turn on jacuzzi jets in the pool.
Outdoor pool was nice and big however it was ice cold.
It was nice and cheap however no excuse for cleanliness. We ate lunch at hotel too and the food was very bad, burger was frozen and undercooked, tuna sandwhich had no tuna snd was soggy, tuna salad was a massive bowl of mainly leaves however fruit platter was nice.
It did the job for 4 days and somewhere to sleep however wouldn’t return.
