We’ve just checked out today (17th) from room 408 and felt we had to leave a review—especially to recognise one outstanding member of staff, Elva. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, Elva stood out. She was already entertaining guests with activities (a bowls-style game), and even just watching from the side, it was clear how naturally talented she is. Elva has a rare ability to connect with people, making everyone feel included, relaxed, and genuinely involved. Throughout our stay, we saw Elva multiple times—particularly during the evening quizzes and music quiz nights—and she was consistently exceptional. Elva brings an incredible level of energy, professionalism, and warmth that you simply don’t see very often. What impressed us most is that this energy never dropped, even though she had clearly been working since early in the morning. Elva maintains the same enthusiasm and positivity all day long. Elva is especially brilliant at engaging a wide range of guests, which is no easy task. As English guests, we can sometimes be a little reserved, but Elva breaks down those barriers effortlessly. She gets everyone involved, laughing, and enjoying themselves without ever making it feel forced. The music quiz evenings were a real highlight for us, largely thanks to Elva. Her music knowledge and selection were fantastic—something we really appreciated as slightly younger guests. Elva made the experience fun, inclusive, and genuinely memorable. In all honesty, Elva became one of the highlights of our entire holiday. We found ourselves looking forward to the evenings just to see what Elva had planned next, which says everything. The hotel itself is lovely, but it’s people like Elva who truly make a stay special. Elva is an absolute credit to the team, and we sincerely hope she gets the recognition she deserves. She made a lasting impression on our holiday, and we won’t forget her anytime soon.

Went to the Son Matias hotel for 7 nights on 1st April this year. First time I've been and will definitely revisit. Spotlessly clean hotel. Fantastic helpful and polite staff. Elva, the entertainment coordinator was super friendly and full of energy,! She made us very welcome. I went bed and breakfast but next time I would try having evening meal too as the food was very good. Pool area was lovely. Cool pool but it was April. I still had a swim in it. Once in it was lovely. Nice room with a fantastic sea view. Apparently every room has one!

Great stay food a good choice entertainment ok .Rooms large with a great view .The only thing we didn't like was having to pay for water with evening meal

The location was perfect for beach, restaurants and local transport. Food was excellent, be prepared to put on a pound or two. Staff were all great. My wife had a birthday while we were there and received a bottle as a present from the hotel, what more could you ask.

Just back from a weeks holiday in this hotel from the moment we checked in till the moment we checked out every member of staff were warm and welcoming brilliant location spotlessly clean and good food the only complaint I have is the price of the drinks were in some cases over 50% more than in some of the pubs locally were but will we go back definitely and are looking to do so in October so hopefully it will be as good a holiday as we've just had

Just back from a fantastic weeks stay The location is excellent for the beach shops and restaurants The rooms are spacious and very clean All the staff deserve a very big Thank-you The food is amazing I probably had too many deserts The drinks are good with local and international brands at reasonable prices We look forward to seeing you all at the end of May

Just back from a 10 night stay in the hotel. 23rd March till 2nd April. It had been 8 years since our last visit and it didn't disappoint. The improvements in the hotel were very impressive especially around the bar area, dining room and pool. The staff were friendly and helpful as ever and it was lovely to see so many familiar faces amongst them especially Javier, Leo, Keith and Sue. The rooms were immaculate as usual and maintained to a great standard. The only disappointment was the weather but it didn't spoil our holiday. We will be back and won't be leaving it as long this time. The photo shows how unhappy we were to be leaving.

Very nice hotel great food,entertainment etc only gripe is being a four star hotel there should be free safes only to pay 22 euros a week but we wil be back

A return visit to This amazing Hotel. Wow, if you want a hotel that ticks all the boxes then this is the one. We have just returned and feel extremely spoiled with the hotel hospitality for the last week. Its Clean and Bright the staff are always happy and can't do enough for you. The room was as fresh as the day it opened the room maid cleaned every day and replaced towels and anything else that was required. Every room in the hotel has a beach view, some of the room to the south side of the hotel have more of a side view to the sea but then they have more of the sun for longer in the day. We have stayed in the past Breakfast only but this time we did Half Board, Breakfast is amazing there is actually too much to choose from including English and continental. The coffee machines give an excellent quality of coffee. The evening meal is a wide selection of every thing from Curry to Cottage Pie to Fresh fish. Most nights there was a Special of freshly cooked meat to order including Steak, lamb and Spare ribs. Salad and fruits were plentiful and the Cakes were not just those cakes you see on holiday that look amazing then don't taste of anything, they were the opposite, full of flavour and once again too many to choose from. Drinks at the table are at an extra cost bust extremely reasonable and you can use your room pass to build a tab that you can pay at the end of the week, yu can use this card in all the bar areas . The outside pool bar and main bar will also take your tap and go Debt card. The evening entertainment is outstanding with a different act every night, usually a Singer or tribute of excellent quality. Shows start and 9:30 and go on till late. There are plenty of seats and room through out the day including around the pool, the pool is fairly small but immaculately clean and safe for all even including a chair seat for those that are less able so that they can be lowered into the pool. The reception staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. If you are staying via a holiday company then their reps will be there most days to give advise and help you with just about everything. The hotel is adult only, not that we mind children as we have 5 grandchildren from 2 children of our own, by the way we are both 59 and 60 years old but young at heart, also I suffer disabilities with walking having suffered some limb loss some years back, there is nothing in the hotel that is not accessible. Well here is looking forward to returning as soon as the pennies will allow, its not the cheapest of hotels in the area but everything is top value for money and if you slightly out of season as we did its actually a bargain. A huge thank you to all the staff at the hotel :)

This is a lovely hotel. Well positioned on the beachfront. The rooms are on the smaller side and you do need a routine when getting ready as not much room near the wardrobes and the bed. However they are spotlessly clean and the large walk in shower is a massive plus. The staff are all so friendly and nothing is any trouble. We are here at start of season and even now people queue for sunbeds when it opens at 9.30. Must be manic at height of season. Food in restaurant is pretty typical for buffets but very geared to English market. Omelette station is good but very limited choice of ingredients to put in it. Only cheese, ham or some weird mushroom puree. The only down side in my opinion is the English radio station blaring out around the pool !!! Why. I have come on holiday to Spain I don’t need to know A40 is closed or listen to numerous adverts and especially don’t want to listen to news headlines. Why can’t they play just nice music ( preferably a little quieter). I appreciate most if not all clientele are English but we are in Spain and would prefer no English radio Overall fantastic hotel and I would return.
