Hotel Gaya in Peguera

The hotel was very well located and was close to the beach and restaurants. The pool area was good. The rooms were very very responsive and you hear if your neighbor would cough or talk, so it makes a lot of noise. The beds are old school, and quite hard. There is no fridge in the room, you have to rent it for 7 Euro/night.

We stayed here last year and had a very disappointing experience. We were put in a corner room of the hotel which was adjacent to a bar that has a singer (or people singing karaoke) playing the same songs every night until midnight. The view from the balcony was electric cables and not much of the pool or anything nice. We asked politely 3 times during the week if we could change rooms but the staff at reception were not interested at all despite admitting there are free rooms. The service at the bar was almost non-existent and the only time we were asked what drinks we wanted at the evening buffet was because we gave up and brought our own. The buffet was always the same and was quite drab. Another thing to note (more a cultural thing instead of the hotel) is that the majority of the clientele are over 60 and love putting their towels on all the sun loungers all day so they can enjoy their 30 minutes they actually spend by the pool.
A couple of the waiters/waitresses were very friendly and the location of the hotel is at least very handy to get to the beach or buses to Palma de Mallorca.

Extremely rude staff. Room was not ready when we checked in. Cleaners are yelling in the hallways every morning, if you want to sleep later than 8 am, good luck!

I was here five years ago in 2018 and came back in 2023, but nothing has changed. I have to give fewer stars because of bad experiences, especially with the food, room, and service.

When we first arrived, they gave us a room next to two noisy restaurants. The music from these places was loud every night from 9PM to midnight, and we could hear it in our room. The rooms with a pool view were a bit quieter, but we could still hear the music. They told us the room was "renovated", but it didn't seem that way. It was actually worse than their other rooms. Look at the attached pictures. The balcony was right on the street corner, which means anyone could see inside our room if the curtains were not drawn. The curtains were black, so if we closed them for privacy, we wouldn't get any natural light.

We asked for a different room and got a better one, but the furniture looked old and yellow. The bathroom was okay except the toilet didn't flush properly. The "renovated" room had a hole in the floor of the shelf, which made it impossible to put our luggage there. But in the older room, we could put our stuff on the shelf and had enough places to hang our clothes.

The Wi-Fi worked better in some rooms than others. The air conditioning worked well, which was better than some other hotels.

The breakfast, which we had to get, wasn't good. It was available from 8AM to 10AM, and they said they always brought out fresh food and replaced empty dishes, but they didn't. Even at 8:30AM, they hadn't replaced the bread, butter, or chocolate that had run out. This meant we couldn't have a proper breakfast, even when we asked nicely. The breakfast was 15€ per person, but the food wasn't worth the price. The hotel staff also ate the same food, which left less for the guests. I suggest going somewhere else for breakfast.

Cleaning is also great but they knock every hour on your door if they can't clean your room till you finally leave your room.
