Hotel Zurigo Downtown

Don't recommend. The rooms are not sound-proof, so I had a really bad sleep. Had to move to another hotel, but they didn't return the payment for unused day. The breakfast is pathetic. Only 7-8 parking spaces available. The bus terminal across the street is not adding the comfort. Will never stay there again.

Horrible racist staff!
Our impression was ruined right as we were “greeted” by the receptionist. She started speaking Swiss German with us right away even though she probably saw in the form I had filled out in advance that I’m not a Swiss citizen. Once I asked her to speak English, she responded again in Swiss German saying that a lady with my Swiss surname (it’s my husbands) MUST speak Swiss German and she went on and on explaining everything about the hotel in German. I don’t understand what was her problem at all. Needless to say that people from different countries usually stay in hotels and she shouldn’t make such comments. She was very rude, impolite, didn’t want to speak English. If you don’t want to be discriminated based on the languages you speak (and don’t speak) don’t go there. The most horrible experience ever.

After a long and tiring journey from the North of Switzerland, my friends and I who looked forward to our holiday for months were welcomed in the Zurigo downtown hotel by the worse receptionist we have met in our entire life. She was rude to us, made us feel umcomfortable and unwelcome.We wanted to ask her a question about our parking spot outside of the hotel and she rudely asked us to not ask any questions and hand her our Id documents instead. She then started speaking french to us which is our mother tongue only to say afterwards that our language is too difficult. And when I mentioned to her that I can speak a bit of German she made me feel really bad shouting that I should have told her earlier instead of letting her speak french to us. My friends and I felt as if we were being scold the whole time by a teacher in a kinder garden for misbehaving!… Honestly you should train your people! I worked in the travelling industry for 10 years for Tui travels and collaborated with hundreds of hotels. Never in my life did I meet such a rude receptionist. At first I thought is this a joke?!…. Never will I ever book this hotel again and I do not recommand it, although it does have incredible potential for tourism in Lugano.
