I absolutely love this hotel. It's small and exquisite, and I felt right at home from the moment I walked in until they dropped us off at the train station. The hotel design is also unique, and the restaurant's service and food are first-rate. The location is just steps from the cable car. The attention to detail is incredible. I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Zermatt.

The huge Matterhorn seemed just outside my balcony room. The iconic view changed form before sunrise to after sunset. The restaurant served good meals with nice staff. The front desk is also helpful and saved our time to plan our stay in Zermatt.

Actually, there is a hotel reception car at the exit, but we didn't know it. I bought a bottle of red wine at the supermarket DENNE near the station, and ordered a steak on the 0th floor of the hotel. It was very comfortable for two people to share. Thank you hotel staff! Zermatt is an amazing location so only the hotels and restaurants differentiate it. Hotel Sonne is spotlessly clean (very important to me), welcoming, with plenty of individual space, a lovely spa area, a great masseuse but the food is its usp - breakfasts to suit the fussiest family and the Tapas Restaurant is amazing. Located in the heart of Zermatt, while the Matterhorn is not visible, the train station is very close, just a 300-meter walk with luggage. Free lunch is available on the second floor.
