This resort is constructed round the mangroves to preserve the habitat of the protected colobus monkey. It has a general dining room but also has a separate Indian and Italian restaurants. The spa is excellent value for money. Food is very good and plentiful and the staff can't do enough for you. We stayed in the 2 bedroom family villa. Such a comfortable and private stay. Our private butler (Kayphas) was always available to supported our every request with precision. The villa is huge with full kitchen, private pool and the most amazing outside shower in each bedroom.

We stayed 4 nights. We did not have any toiletries in our room until the last night we were there. Our room felt like it was actually cleaned. The resort has potential to be a really great resort. Management of it really lacks. We had one outside light out of a possible 3. Lights burnt out inside the room. It could use proper management.

This property was absolutely magical. If you’re looking for a low key off the grid vibe, this is the place. There’s no Wi-Fi in the room but it’s available in the common area overlooking the beach. However, the level of privacy you’ll receive in your individual room is worth it.

The hotel has a great location right in Stone City, and it's considered one of the cleaner and more modern hotels in the city. There's a rooftop restaurant, but it's quite expensive.

In the core location of Stone City, there is a highly rated restaurant on the rooftop. It takes only five minutes to walk to the night market. The free shortbread for check-in is very fragrant and delicious. The room is clean and comfortable. I will stay here again next time I go to Stone City

This hotel is right next to the airport, so the location is unbeatable. The room was very clean and a decent size. Compared to other hotels in Zanzibar, it offers good value for money. The only downside is that it's quite far from Stone Town, about a 20-minute drive.

Dated property but clean and comfortable, great view and location

We stayed here in June 2025. The hotel is wonderful, the rooms are large and well-maintained. There are rooms in the garden next to the pool, and there are rooms with ocean views. The view from them is stunning. Breakfasts are ordinary, quite decent. From the restaurant there is a direct descent into the ocean. Beach towels are provided, changed if necessary.

Great place, most friendly people all staff is like family. Much recommended 👌. Food is also excellent, and you get the most beautiful sunset on their terrace.

This place was amazing, clean, nice people, beautiful garden, even the monkey and cats are nice. The breakfast was modest but very nice, you will have what you need to start your day. It has also a very nice pool for rainy days or just to start the day by a dip in the water

Great pool . Good breakfast , egg station , sausages , pancakes , fruits , 1 cereal , coffee , several teas , local choice breakfast items too .Nice grounds and garden . Very chilled with no noise or music around pool. Just nature ❤️. I had a fantastic stay at Highland Bungalows Nungwi! The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, with a beautiful pool that’s perfect for relaxing. The property is very clean and well-maintained, and while the rooms are on the smaller side, they’re comfortable and have everything you need. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made my stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast is simple but tasty...

Very successful stay in a place with a very large (and used!) potential. Great room, clean and spacious. Clean and sufficiently large swimming pool, with ~10 sunbeds, right next door. The residential part is separated from the public part with a restaurant with very tasty dishes and nice service. Prices in the restaurant, compared to other places, more than acceptable. Modest, but in my opinion...

Really pleasant place to stay. Lovely clean pool secluded with ample loungers. Nice rooms around the pool ….quiet. Food really nice and just a 12min walk to the beach. Staff so kind and helpful. Supermarket 5 min walk. We would stay again if ever we returned.
