Mjini Magharibi Region, Nungwi, Nungwi, North Coast, Zanzibar 🧭 Map
Very cozy and nice place. Location is perfect and it takes just a few minutes by walk to get to the most wonderful beach. People are very kind and helpful. Rooms are very big which is great! Clean and safe accommodation. Recommend to everyone who wants to experience a nice vacation.
Staff were so lovely and tried to help as best they could. Breakfast was included, and pancakes were a firm hit with the children. The chef seemed to always be annoyed with the staff, not sure why. Rooms are definitely dated and not the cleanest. We were moved rooms because the AC was broken and there was a bug cemetery in the original room too. Good location not far from Nungwi beach. Good for putting...
Spent a few days last year at the hotel and we loved the experience, it is located at a walking distance to the beach, the food was good. It was a safe place and nicely quite.
We stayed here for more than 2 weeks, the hotel is located near the beach (3min walk) has a beautiful garden and nice pools. Although Nungwi beach is very crowded you can find your peace in the hotel. The rooms are very spacious and the bathroom is very neat. (Gets cleaned everyday) There’s new staff and they’re all very friendly, always smiling and happy to help. The breakfast was included and...
Clean and comfortable Room space was adequate Very close to the beach a 3 min walk the beach is beautiful you can book your tours from there , the staff are super friendly and the breakfast buffet is good The staff used to offer a takeaway piece of cake to my child everyday
This hotel is quiet and lovely, with big rooms and kind staff, very close to the beach. The food was delicious, for dinner it's possible to have room service. We had some problems with wifi, but the staff was so kind to solve it immediately. We arrived at 4:30am and at first we were not satissfied with room on the first floor, so we got another room after breakfast. We would love to come back again...

The staff were truly amazing and very helpful! The rooms were extremely clean and paid attention to detail too. I highly recommend. Everything is in a walkable distance and great value for money. There also wasn’t any noise at all and the amenities were all easily accessible.
The hotel is beautiful, clean rooms and hotel stuffs are helpful and friendly Great experience, if you are looking for a nice hotel in stonetown I highly recommend beyt as salaam
I had a wonderful stay at Beyt al Salaam. The service was excellent from the moment I arrived. The staff were warm, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well prepared. I especially loved the peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful design of the hotel. The location is perfect — close to important attractions and very convenient for visitors...
Charming Stay in the Heart of Stone Town! We stayed one night at Beyt Al Salaam and loved its central location in Stone Town. Markets, restaurants, and major attractions are all within walking distance. The hotel has an antique charm with traditional interiors and a warm, welcoming staff. A lovely blend of heritage and hospitality.

This review is at least 10 years late, but Google pics me took down memory lane when we visited the hotel's restaurant back in 2015, we preferred to eat here as opposed to the Double Tree Hotel we were staying that was about a few meters away (pity it's now closed) but the food was absolutely phenomenal, I vividly remember the lady chef (hopefully she's still there) served us like absolute royalty...

This resort is really comfortable clean and well maintained grounds and pool. Ocean view and many activities along the beach. Onsite restaurant, bar, massage and beach access with chairs & towels. Great friendly staff and accomdating.
Review of Wasabi, Restaurant inside the Cristal Resort, I confirm my previous review, perfect location in Paje, beautiful private beach, simple resort, nice environment, however it is a bit sad, no atmosphere, no music, staff not particularly welcoming. We wanted to eat Uramaki and we went back to Wasabi, we ordered more types of Uramaki, with raw tuna, vegetarian, and with shrimp, all good and well...
Cristal would be a great resort so long as you’re not there on music night - the pounding music started before 6pm and was supposed to finish at midnight but actually finished at 2am. All this was less than 50 metres from both the restaurant (making conversation difficult) and from a number of rooms including several for our group (so struggled to sleep). And all for less than 20 people. And to make...
I wholeheartedly recommend the Cristal Resort in Zanzibar for an enchanting escape. Nestled amid stunning surroundings, this resort offers a unique blend of elegance and comfort. The attention to detail in the design, coupled with personalized service, creates a truly luxurious experience. The Cristal Resort's commitment to showcasing local culture and flavors is evident in its exceptional dining options
Great 👍 "Exceptional stay! Impeccable service, stylish ambiance, and attention to detail. The staff went above and beyond, creating a memorable experience. A perfect blend of luxury and comfort. Highly recommend for an unforgettable getaway."
One of the most beautiful beaches in Zanzibar. White sand between coconut trees and amazing tourquize colors of the Indian Ocean. Very good Asiatic menue, and most importantly lovely welcoming team. It's a lovely place to stay. Neat and clean . The staff is friendly and helpful. Food was good. Good place to relax.
Great place for holiday. Nice rooms and staff, the place is directly on a wonderfull beach. Wi fi signal is weak. The restaurant has a great menu, different choices og local and international food.
Lovely place with a nice pool. Food is good as well. Quite nice beach and very relaxing. Totally worth it if your looking for peace and calm with a fair bit of luxury. Very kind and helpful staff, highly recommended.

I stayed at Mandarin Hotel for 20 days for business. The food, rooms, and location of the hotel are very good. It is a very good choice for a seaside and quiet holiday. There is music and entertainment at night. Most importantly, the staff is very friendly. See you next time.
We spent 9 wonderful days in the Mandarin Resort. The staff was super friendly, the food delicious and the beach is a dream. Our children loved playing in the pool and during the low tide we could do beautiful walks in the sand. The water in the ocean is so nice to swim in, clean, warm and blue. We will always remember this perfect vacation and hope we can come back one day. Thank you to all the people...

Everything about this resort was great, accommodation was very good, big room, with a great shower / bathroom. The food was good, enjoyed the different culture food every night. We met great people, still friends after the trip, we did most of the excursions together. Will be back if we can!
The hotel is beautiful. I had a rest. People are so kind and helpful, always smiling and spreading positive energy. I LOVED the food. Everyday we had something delicious. Soups were my favourite! A Lot of salads and yummy drinks. I want to come back soon again!
Great spot for a restful getaway. All staff very friendly and helpful. This resort seems to be popular with big groups. So you may need to wait a little to get checked in (or get help in general) but don't worry, you will be attended to very soon. Rooms clean and comfy - basic, but what more do you need? It's a beach resort with great weather, so I was only in the room to sleep and shower anyway...
The resort was amazing, perfectly situated on the beach. Drinks were good and lot of variety available. The food was also good despite being a buffet option for the all inclusive package. The only negative was the rooms are not as fancy or as well maintained but it was good enough, comfortable and cleaned daily. Would definitely recommend for a family stay. The evening entertainment was really fun...
the final bill was higher than what we used, so... The check-out time is until 10, although when we ordered in the online system it was written that until 11 o'clock. Staying in the room until 11 was not allowed. The food is delicious, but I saw the waiter putting the food that fell out back into the dish. Some of the staff are very polite, but certainly not all. The location is great, the beach too...

This comes from the Nice hospitality that i got from the Hotel from the day i started to about the hotel details, i can say the customer service was superb The hotel design , the hotel view and the bedroom are so comfy Thank You.
I had the best experience. The rooms were unique, clean and the surroundings were calm and relaxing as well the hospitality was fantastic. I had a great stay.
We recently hosted an event at Zanzibar Beach Resort, and the experience was excellent. The team was supportive, the setup was well organized, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The GM and his staff were very attentive and made sure all our needs were taken care of. Thank you for helping make our event a success.
Gorgeous places maintains that Zanzibari traditional style. The food was incredible, I wish they had grilled king prawns on the day. The prawn curry I had was immaculate though. The staff is also wonderful from the bar to security and staff at check-in. Jeff the front office manager is really great and passionate. I was always looking forward to the unique decoration of my bed after the days tour!
The people who worked there were very nice, helpful, and personable.
The hotel is well located in Stone Town. The room is a bit small. It is a converted old house and is not very soundproof. You need to check out at 10 am!
A great hotel in the city center. All the sights are close by, making it a convenient base for exploring new destinations.

I had a very pleasant time, the service was perfect, I have absolutely no complaints. No further comment needed 🤗
It's a bit far from the city center, but it's okay unless you're on a business trip.
Nice staff Low season, terrible breakfast. Neighbour hotel chuini saved this stay with amazing lunch and dinner. Comfty beds. Friendly staff.
Staff seem to do the best they can despite limitations, very picturesque in itself however was told to get cash to pay for food and expenses as their card machine was not working.
The best Gym I found in an hotel (even a/c didn't work) . The room was enormous, clean and quiet. The Road for getting there Is in bad conditions, as the standard of the Island, excerpt main roads. Breakfast Is simple but good enaugh. Staff very helpful, a nearby beach Is very "authentic" with few europeans. Good experience.
A safe refuge in a chaotic island The stay was very lovely compared to the surrounding parts of Zanzibar. You sometimes forgot there was a world outside the resort. The staff was very respectful and helpful. Grisham in particular was very professional, reliable, well-spoken with English, and was able to meet all our requests (including having breakfast made earlier than normal for our flight) with...

The hotel is in a very convenient location. It is a short walk to the Forodhani Gardens and the former Slave Market. There are several restaurants closeby especially a very popular one Lukmaan. A beautiful place tropical garden well looked after, excellent food especially the dinners reception staff very good Nice (the receptionist) collected aloe Vera for my sun burn generally all the staff are very friendly, wonderful massage, enjoyed walking into the village and beach and to top it all we went on the early morning trip and swam with the dolphins 😀Thank you xx
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was wonderful! Heads up: the beach had a lot of sea urchins in January. There were some local youths that showed us safe passage and starfish, sea spiders, lionfish, etc. right there on our beach for a small fee. For swimming the hotel pool was beautiful. The food in the hotel restaurant was reasonably priced and good.
The hotel is a 15 room cozy, quite, and warm space. Rooms were spacious and well kept. The staff cleans on daily basis…change sheets, pillows, towels and most importantly take into consideration all your remarks. The rooms are quite old and could benefit from renovation. When I entered the room, I felt a bit uncomfortable, though this may have been due to tiredness after travel. I stayed at Golden Tulip Zanzibar recently and the experience was mixed. The property itself is nice and the majority of the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming — they really made the stay pleasant. Everything was perfect I like so much it's the best hotel where I was living.

Best thing about this hotel was the buffet breakfast Chef’s kiss paired with an amazing view of the ocean. No alcohol served but rooms have a fridge do you can bring your own. A simple thing for an asthmatic like me was to request a pillow that was foam or synthetic. The answer I got was sorry don’t have but if you get an attack we can take you to a hospital. How absurd! Standards have dropped. I had to ask for a plate four times before I got one at breakfast...

Everything was great! It's so convenient to be by the beach, the breakfast was very varied and delicious, and the pool was great too

The only thing is that it was named after the famous slave trader, Tippu Tip. I didn't understand why, it was awkward. But the rest of the hotel is wonderful. Very interesting. Wide view, large room, clean and sanitary, rich breakfast variety

First of all, the lighting in the house is insufficient, especially at night, the overall feeling is very old under the dim light, and it does not look clean and hygienic enough. Very close to the ferry to Dar es Salaam. The hotel building is very historic. The room is large and the sea view is right outside the window. The breakfast is rich. The restaurant is on the balcony facing the sea.
