Forodhani Park Hotel, Zanzibar City1 / 23
8.3
Mjini Magharibi Region, Zanzibar City, Forodhani Street 🧭 Map
This hotel is definitely not a 4-star property as advertised. The reception manager was not particularly friendly or welcoming, which made the experience less pleasant. The rooms were ok with very few amenities. That said, there are some positives. The breakfast was excellent, with fresh fruit and delicious local pastries offered each morning. Abdulhamid was especially helpful — he went out of his...
Staff was friendly; gave great guest service. Overall stay was exceptional. Variety of breakfast options was very good. I would definitely recommend to others. Hotel is very clean and well managed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great location and overall nice hotel for Zanzibar. Very close to tourist attractions, everything on walking distance. Clean and spacious rooms. Breakfast was limited but with amazing fruit selection
The location is good, very close to the sea, and next to the castle (one of the castles) of Stone Town. The front desk is nice, the room is big and clean, with hot water. After climbing Kilimanjaro and safari in the Serengeti, it felt like a break for the first time. Breakfast was barely edible.
Nice hotel. Great location. They had a nice roof top but too bad no roof top bar.
We slayed at this hotel for almost two weeks. It is next to water front and one can enjoy the beautiful evenings at water front without loss of time. Further, one can make frequent visits in the streets of Stone houses. The Manager Mr. Abdullah was very helpful. He was always out to help us in any matter from finding a taxi or any other assistance needed. As one is next to the coast, a boat could...

Kidoti Wild Garden, Nungwi1 / 9High rating

Mjini Magharibi Region, Nungwi, Nungwi Road, Kidoti 🧭 Map
We stayed five nights at Kidoti Wild Garden … three nights at the ocean front Nature Lodge and two in the Bungalow. We were originally schedule for all five in the Guesthouse, but there was some construction going on nearby and they kindly upgraded us. We enjoyed our stay, but I don’t think it’s a place for everyone. For those seeking a space away from the crowded hotels and beaches, and flexible...
Such a gem! The owner and staff welcomed us like family, the food was beautifully prepared and served with pride. There are lovely touches everywhere you turn-the gardens are so pretty and seeing the Canadian flag overhead was perfect🫶🏻
Me and my friend stayed here for a couple days and had a great experience. As soon as we arrived Mwamba offered us a nicer room than the one we had initially booked, no extra charge. The accommodation is very secluded and quiet so it’s perfect for a few days away from the noise. Mwamba took us out to swim with dolphins and it was one of the best experiences, we left very early and were there before...
A lovely spot - quiet and set away from the hustle and bustle of a lot of Zanzibar. It is basic accommodation - so cold showers and a very simple set up - but that's exactly what we love about it. There has clearly been a lot of love going into building the place, Mwembe gave us a tour of the garden with all the plants and veggies he's growing. If busy bars and banging music and luxury accommodation...
Such a beautiful place. A lovely contrast to the bustle and hassle of stone town. We like spots off the beaten track and this place is gloriously that, but with cold beers, a warm welcome and swimming from your doorstep (at high tide). The kids also loved the cats and the numerous hermit crabs. Our three kids (12,10,7yrs) discovered the joys of snorkeling here which was aided by the fact we lucked...
This is amazing place located just on the beach , west coast. You can watch the sunsets from over there. We were lucky to stay in the house closest to the ocean. The garden is beautiful and peacful you can really disconnect and relax there. The owner - Mwamba is very friendly and helped us to solve some issues and even organized a free transport to the city!! The restaursnt offers very good food...

Amazing place, nice view the meal it’s test and delicious
Great hotel with a wonderful helpful staff, the location is unbeatable it was right in the downtown area
Great location next to the ferry. The staff were so kind and helped us find a taxi when we were in trouble. It’s a beautiful historic building.
Nothing to complain about. Great service, nice staff and good cleaning. Facilitys are okay and nothing more than you pay for. Good place for a couple of nights. Too much noise from the street but thats just how it is around here. Good central location.
Smiles has comfortable rooms, Good service and the location is perfect ! Everything is near by :foodplaces, forodhani, port and many more. The staff are very helpful and we had no problem. The break fast was good.
I had a great 4 day solo stay here. Staff was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was good and great quality. Great location to walk and sightseeing the town. I really appreciated the spray for mosquitoes nightly. Will absolutely stay again. A great buy! .

A lovely relaxing and comfortable place to stay. Very well managed and looked after by friendly and welcoming staff.
My experience at Santa Maria was beautiful! The people here are very welcoming, the bungalows are very close to the beach, it s such a nice and quiet place. We stayed here at the end of april and we had the beach for ourselves! If you love nature and being in contact with it this is the place for you! If you have a problem with the windows not having glass, and hearing the rain or the bushbabys, then...
By far the best place I've stayed in, and I'm saying this as a person who travels a lot throughout Asia, the Caribbean and other tropical destinations, typically staying in 5* resorts and all kind of sorts of boutique hotels. This place is different to any of them, but just truly awesome. Rooms are nice and cleaned daily, the staff is very helpful and attending. But the place itself... It's just a...
Best hotel on the island. We all have different tastes but for us when we go to Tanzania we want local Tanzania hotel with a taste of tradition. Santa Maria is the best at that.We have done most islands and we couldn’t find anything like Santa Maria . It feels like being alone on a private island, the cool breeze, the beautiful decoration. Santa Maria is simply the best and for us the fact that it...
Very nice and chill place. The view is amazing and they clean up the beach. The staff is really helpful and give you a warm welcome. We had problems with the local atm and they helped us out. The food was amazing and if you stay awake you can see some cute bushbabys in the night. Ask the staff about them and they teach you and show you a lot about them. 10 out of 10! Would like to stay forever
Location was perfect, on a desolate beach without the hustle and bustle. Breakfast was good, the fresh fruit and juice was a highlight. Didn't know that we wouldn't only have screens on the windows (as opposed to glass) in the unit (especially with the stormy weather, it made for an interesting night) and curtains didn't cover the entire window. Power went out a couple times. We didn't have water...

Type of place you would like to keep secret ! If you are looking for a quiet very beautiful hotel this place is perfect. The big pool is wonderful facing the sea, the construction of the restaurant is impressive and original, the bar beautiful and the hotel offers some nice and easy activities. Bedrooms very clean and decorated with taste. We had a crush for this hotel not only because it is Lovely...
Very nice place but isolated from everything, meals and drinks very expensive (ordinary bottle of wine at 25€), we are alone on 10/02 in this hotel with 12 rooms, some hotels in the surrounding area with more people, pleasant but dirty swimming pool, direct access to the sea which depending on the tides is accessible but we do not lose our footing and the water is as warm as a bath so we do not cool...
Now back from our second time staying here and cannot wait to be back already! It is bliss with a lovely swimming pool and very accommodating and kind staff. The food is great (many local dishes) with good portion sizes, cocktails are delicious and the beach is beautiful. Special mention to Roger, the manager, who was so delightfully accommodating, organising any day trips we wanted to do and who came...
The place to play is very good
This resort was truly perfect for us. Beautifully situated directly on the beach, quiet and away from the hustle and bustle, very well managed and exceptionally tastefully decorated. It was simply stunningly beautiful; each room had its own little house with a veranda, and the small, intimate grounds were dotted with fine white sand and exotic flowering shrubs. Everything was constantly maintained...
The hotel is in a very quiet location, if you are looking for rest, this is it! The rooms are simple and clean, close to the beach: 10m... The food is very good with varied dishes. The fruit juices are freshly squeezed, the coconut picked directly from the coconut tree. Attentive and welcoming staff. We were very happy to spend a few days in this hotel.

Our trip was a fantastic journey into wilderness and pure nature. We had spend a wonderful week with great outdoor activities and exploring the whole island. The staff was very welcoming and warmhearted. We enjoyed snorkeling, tidal walks, forest trails, crab walks and a lot more while learning more about ecological subjects. The cabins were very comfortable and the food was also absolutely delicous
We took the tour around Chumbe Island and had a truly lovely time — the scenery and overall experience were well worth it. The island is beautiful, the wildlife is fascinating, and it’s clear the guides care about sharing their enthusiasm with visitors. One small issue: during the guided walk, the guide mentioned that some baobab trees can live 15,000–20,000 years. From what I understand, that’s not...
Tropical paradise with awesome snorkeling, monstrous crabs, and beautiful birds. Staff were warm and lovely. A day trip is possible, but definitely stay overnight, if only for the Coconut Crab walking tour. They’re nocturnal.
Chombe is a little bit of heaven! I don't know where to begin in my praise for the charming staff, delicious food, interesting activities (Thankyou so much J2) and idyllic setting. A really magical experience.
Best authentic experience! Great snorkling. Eco tourism at its finest. 1 night is not enough. So glad we spent 3 nights there.
Amazing place. You are one with nature. Such ecological lodges, minimal guests, it's as if you are alone on the island. We spotted sting rays, sharks, star fishes and many many more. The variety of corals is great. Perfect for snorkeling or just a swim. Recommended staying 2 nights. The forest accompanying the island is great as well.

On arrival we received a warm welcome from Pia and Hasim the owners, with a welcome drink and cake. We stayed in the beautifully decorated and very clean 2 Bedroom Suite with private balcony and seaview overlooking the pool...
An absolutely amazing stay! The hosts and staff are incredibly kind, attentive, and always go the extra mile. At first, we almost canceled our stay because the hotel didn't have a pool, which our daughter loves. But we're so glad we didn't! This hotel was a LOVELY surprise like no other. It was amazing! It was really soo beautifully decorated. Simple but pretty. Loved the little water bowl outside the room to rinse your feet. The staff were soo kind & helpful. The only thing the room needs is a long mirror in the room. And the restaurant food can be slightly improved. But otherwise all.good! I will definitely recommend it!

I'm recently had the pleasure of staying at the Zanzibar Hotel, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The rooms were beautifully decorated, offering a perfect blend of comfort and style, and the view from our balcony was breathtaking.
I have done many bookings by checking a hotel online largely with positive outcomes but this one, I missed properly. It was a disappointment considering its price and name. First, the access road is rough and unpaved with entrance looking a bit shady. Far from what I expected after seeing stunning images online. Secondly, for 90 USD, I expected at least a hotel with some basic facilities like a...
Megan is the absolute best manager we have ever dealt with in hotel experiences. We love Zanzibar and this is definitely a place we would stay in again. We had 14 pieces of luggage and we were tended to perfectly. We got engaged here...
A satisfying travel experience.
Sanitation in general, poor facilities, plastic feeling
I recently stayed at a hotel located in downtown that unfortunately had a few drawbacks. Firstly, the internet speed was very slow, which was quite frustrating as I needed to do some work during my stay. Additionally, the location of the hotel was right in the midst of busy traffic, making it quite noisy and chaotic outside. However, there were some positives to the hotel. The rooms were clean, and...

Room was a bit basic (we booked deluxe room), but it was clean and had everything you need. We has problem with the shower and it was solved very fast. The location is perfect, the restaurant is also good. Thanks for receptionist Bella and all staff from the restaurant (girls from breakfast...
They made traveling with a baby very easy. Staff is personally invested in the guests and very welcoming. We had a great experience with Gloria, Noella and Scolla. The chef is really good with baking and pastries. The hotel has a good location for swimming in low tide (clean beach) or high tide (water comes up to the steps of the deck so it is beautiful). Only comment: bathroom fittings are a bit old...
My boyfriend and I had a fantastic stay at Zenobia Hotel! The beachfront location is absolutely gorgeous waking up to the sound of the waves and the stunning view was a highlight of the trip. The resort is also perfectly situated, with shops and restaurants just a short walk away, making it easy to explore the area. The hotel itself has a great restaurant with delicious food, so you don’t even need...
Good place for you to stay central to shops and restaurants and beach activities are great the place is a bit run down with faulty aircon units No TV's and No cettels in rooms on the down side in the surrounding area the security /local beach Boys will swarm woman and girls if not accompanied by men and drugs are freely available But I would come again to stay
Nice restaurant with great food and music. Rooms wear okay, but to many people hassling you for money, to buy things both near the rooms and on the beach.
Superb Hotels and Great price Value for money Family Get Away Peaceful. Great Sea View Beach Hotel with Resturant. Crystal clear water can see different colors in the ocean on the beach.

Great experience and service at affordable price. Bed and breakfast for 2 cost 80,000tsh. Breakfast on the roof with sea view is amazing they serve fruits omelet chapati and tea. Located near the ferry 5 - 10 mins walk. Service wise, they need to improve on providing toiletries and water. Wifi is available on each floor. Thank you for your services.
Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Ok location if you are heading to the ferry. But a bit tucked away. I wouldn't recommend for solo travelers. The price is a bit high for what you get. The rooms are simple and a bit sad looking. But they have everything you need: fan, AC, hot and cold shower with good preasure. The breakfast on the rooftop is quite disappointing. This place could be so much...
It is good for the price. It is near a fish market so expectedly it smells a bit like fish. The rooftop breakfast was great and the people that work there are eager to help. The plumbing in the bathroom could use an upgrade.
Really nice stay on a budget! The service was amazing, we got a lot of help from the reception and especially their offer for different tourist activities (for a good price) was much appreciated. Did blue safari, spice tour and city tour, and would have loved to try even more if our stay was longer. Wifi, functional breakfast with fruits, tea, juice and eggs, a nice location close to the ferry port...
Very good hotel not too far from ferry and with reasonable prices . Building in and out looks like it was built or remodelled not long time ago so you can expect many things still like new here. Nice terrace on the rooftop where you can have awesome breakfast at mornings. Highly recommend!
