Reviews
Excellent location close to Tha Phae Gate, yet relatively quiet as it is tucked away in a small alley. It offers easy access to the Sunday Night Market, though it can get a bit noisy during this time.
Conveniently located near the international airport.
Great value for money. I stayed here for five nights, and it’s well suited for solo travellers looking for a simple, no-frills setup. The room was basic but comfortable, with both air-conditioning and a fan.
The staff were very helpful throughout my stay. I was able to use the in-room safe by paying a refundable deposit for the key.
Cons:
The bathroom layout is a bit unusual, with the shower located right next to the toilet and no partition. The shower water
The service was friendly and welcoming. The room had both air conditioning and a fan, which was great, and everything worked well. One thing to note is that there can be quite a bit of noise from nearby properties, but using earplugs made it possible to rest without problems.
In general, it’s a solid option with a good price. Quality balance, especially if you plan to spend most of the day out exploring Chiang Mai.
The staff were helpful. Location was great. They had 24hr free water, coffee, tea and ovaltine. I loved the balcony even though it was small.
The location is perfect right in the heart of the old town and within easy walking distance or a short taxi ride to anywhere you need to go.
The only issues we had were that the air conditioning dripped quite a lot and there’s no smoking allowed on the balcony.
This guest house includes breakfast at an affordable price so that earns them two stars. Another star for the location, being in Old City, but also walking distance to great spas and renown restaurants. The room has AC and a generous amount of space for the price so that gives another star. Altogether they got four stars.
The common space feels left out and the hallway have a lot of gaps and drops that caused both me and my wife to fall. Wifi failed alot which is a big deal for me. English is not the most fluent here as other places so altogether is minus two stars.
Since I cant give them a 3.5, I am rounding it to 4.
but the room was extremely dark, felt like a box,
and is way overpriced, I found a place in the same street for les then a 3rd of the price with bigger room with more light and a little balcony,
it does include breakfast, thats a nice little extra.
We are not picky travelers and I rarely give 1 stars to any place but the combination of experiences at Rendezvous GuestHouse was horrible.
First the electrical wiring at the guest house nearly electrocuted my wife and fried our Apple computer charger. The management at the Guesthouse took no responsibility ($75 cost) and said it was the chargers issue which we've been using in Thailand for nearly 30 days. We had no issues with the charge until this happened.
The walls in the room are extremely thin so you hear everything your neighbors are saying. Ive experienced many thin walls in cheap places but these are the worst.
Finally, food poisoning on the last morning of our stay. My wife ordered the fried rice with egg for breakfast. Within an hour she had felt nauseous and started to throw up/diarrhea a few hours after eating. This was the only food she ate all day. We had to go to the hospital it got so bad.
There are tons of great guesthouses and hotels in Chiang Mai, do your self a favor and don't go to this one.
