The best thing about the hotel is it’s location. I could see Ayasofia from my balcony window. But that’s about it. The interior is charming but my room smelled funny and the wallpaper came down because the wall was wet. We stayed for a week in Hotel Black Tulip. The room was small, it was enough for me and my wife. Everything was functional and in good shape. The location was really good, with only a minute walk to Gulhane tram station. The noise from the tram was not as bad as we thought it would be. Definitely recommended.

The room is very cramped. When booking two different beds, in fact they provided two pushed together beds and it was not possible to move them apart because of the distance. This is a small and inexpensive hotel that is conveniently situated close to many of the main attractions of Istanbul. The staff are helpful and friendly. The room was spotless and comfortable, and this hotel clearly understands that if they claim to have soundproof rooms, they really should be soundproof. The breakfast is very poor, they don't give it to you if you leave early. The air conditioner can only be turned on and off by calling the reception, which is inconvenient. Very nice hotel, it is cleaned daily. Near bus station and train station. Rooms are decent and the hotel overall gets the job done. Has AC. Doesn't have elavator and train passes by so it does make some noise but it goes away quick. I would still go to if needed.

A beautiful hotel with good service.

Located in a port area of the city. The building from the outside is falling apart and there is garbage everywhere. There is no insulation between the walls so you can hear EVERYTHING going on in your neighbours rooms. It says no smoking but the room always smelled like fresh smoke making it difficult to sleep. Bring earplugs if you do decide to stay here.
