Good location. Room is tidy. Good customer service

The hotel is close to a metro line, a major highway and some business districts. The good dining options within walking distance are limited. One major disappointment was the mould in the bathroom. The hotel is packed with patients from some hospitals nearby. This makes the hotel calmer and less noisy, but you can bump into many wheelchair patients, full-gear nurses, etc.

It was a great stay and a great hotel

Hotel location is nice and has immediate access to galata port walkway, room overall is very clean, the only downside is the room cleaning service was not very good, the bathroom was not cleaned properly. Other than that the experience was very nice

I booked the room month ago and wrote in the comments that I need room in the higher floor and quite. However, they gave us in the first floor with room terrace behind the neighborhood market which was so noisy

Good hotel for a short business trip. Although I wasn’t really thrilled with responsiveness and service. Property was clean enough though ,I give them that.

Baggage not taken to room, very late check in time, bathroom drain really bad smell, had to ask for robes for the spa area. Taking 100 euro deposit, suggests lack of trust of your guests. Room cleaning was yuck two days without mugs and coffee bags. Body shampoo ran out it took two days until they refilled.  the bed was not that comfortable. I really loved the Shangri-La atmosphere; it blended Chinese artistic flair with French creamy elegance. Combined with the view from the window, it felt tranquil and pleasant, yet full of charm. What disappointed me was the poor character of the staff at the front desk who handled check-in. They used cunning Turkish scams on customers they were supposed to serve. I am currently staying in the surmeli hotel istanbul. When you enter the hotel, you can smell a very pungent and sewage smell. In breakfast, water was leaking from the roof. The staff are quite friendly. The rooms have very dull lighting and it can feel quite claustrophobic because it's a round building. The food was basic, not what you would expect, same thing eveyday.

This is not in a touristy neighborhood. I chose this because it was closer to where I had some business to take care of. Staff needs to be little more friendly and perhaps smile especially room service staff. Housekeeping was great. Bar is totally dead. I was there for 4 nights and never saw anyone at the bar having a drink.
