This is my second stay at Astoria Hotel, Bur Dubai, and once again the experience has been very pleasant. The service, welcoming attitude, and overall hospitality of the team are genuinely very good.

Yes, the hotel is an older property, but truly “old is gold.” The interiors are well maintained, comfortable, and give a warm, classic feel.

One thing I really appreciate is the team’s gesture during check-out or family stays — whenever availability allows, they upgrade rooms to executive, suite, or family rooms without even being asked, which shows their customer-focused mindset.

I would especially like to mention Mr. Bijay from the reception team. His professionalism, helpful nature, and positive attitude truly stand out. While the entire team is doing a good job, Vijay’s service deserves special appreciation. Management should definitely keep an eye on such valuable staff members.
☺️
Thank you, Mr. Bijay, and thank you to the Astoria Hotel team for the comfortable room and excellent hospitality. Highly appreciated and recommended.

We had a pleasant stay at the Grand Astoria Hotel, Dubai. The rooms were comfortable and well maintained, and the staff was courteous and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located and very accessible to the nearby market.
Breakfast was good with a nice Indian touch, which we really appreciated. Special mention to Mr. Deepak for his excellent service — truly top-notch and made our experience even better.

Wonderful and unexpected service by all staff. Prompt attention given by Mr Shaud and housekeeping manager for all our special requests. Housekeeping manager bought for us specially a table frm market for bathing as mom has health issues. Really thankful and grateful forever 🙏 Food is tasty, upto the mark, bombay style, hygienic and plenty to suffice all the customers. Chefs Mr Jitu and Mathew are excellent in cooking vegetarian and gujju food. Inspite of so many clubs, the hotel has maintained peaceful and graceful atmosphere just suitable for family stay. Water given free of cost. Cleaning and sanity upto the mark. Only thing is A.C which needs to be regulated as in our room it was as damn cool inspite of switching off our room A.C

The hotel is located near the old town, just a 5-minute walk to the metro. It's a 35-minute ride to Burj Khalifa and 1 hour 20 minutes to Marina Bay. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is predominantly Indian, so the shops and cafes in the area are quite vibrant and authentic to that culture. It can be noisy and crowded on the streets, but everything you need is available almost 24/7.

The staff is very polite and attentive. Check-in and check-out were quick. Room service was good. I used their complimentary luggage storage service at the reception. I didn't opt for breakfast. The in-room Wi-Fi was fast.

I was assigned a room on the 4th floor, an accessible room (which essentially meant it was more spacious and comfortable). It was clean, tidy, and roomy. The room featured a large wardrobe, a cabinet by the entrance, a double bed, two nightstands, a desk, two chairs, a small table, a shelf, and a wall mirror. There was a large TV, a kettle, a refrigerator, plenty of power outlets, tissues, water, tea, and coffee. The lighting was good, and the light switches were convenient. The windows had thick curtains. The bathroom was huge and combined, with an accordion door, and fresh linen was provided.

My main drawbacks were:
1. Poor soundproofing – even with the window closed, the street noise was unbearable. There seemed to be a dance club nearby, as low-frequency vibrations resonated through the walls late into the weekend nights (you couldn't hear it with your ears, but it definitely interfered with sleep). I was glad I was on the 4th floor. Interestingly, I stayed in a different room on the 4th floor of the same hotel a week prior, with windows facing an open courtyard, and it was significantly quieter there.
2. The air conditioning was practically unregulated – the room was incredibly, incredibly cold! I switched off the cooling right after checking in, but the background ventilation continued to cool the air (it blew directly on my feet). There was no heating mode. It was extremely uncomfortable – I couldn't walk barefoot and had to stay in warm clothes all the time.
3. No hairdryer – I'm used to blow-drying my long hair, but that wasn't an option here. This is a minor point, though.

Overall, it's a very decent hotel for the price. I would gladly stay here again.

It is my worst experience
They must remove the stars
With a very old ugly furniture and a very old washroom your stay becomes uncomfortable
Reception people and parking people are nice
