I wish I could say I had a pleasant stay, but unfortunately that was not the case. I booked a double queen oceanfront with balcony room, but when I got to the hotel to check in, the front desk informed me that they did not have any rooms available of the type that I had reserved online directly through the RIU app. However, not sure how the couple that were also checking in at the same time and only got there a few minutes before me, received a great oceanfront room with a balcony on one of the top floors. It also took 45 min to get checked in at midnight. In short, I got downgraded from the room I had booked and paid extra for, and instead received a room that was not worth the money I paid for.

The room was relatively clean, but the beds were very uncomfortable and needed to be replaced. I ended up getting a two queen room on the third floor in the corner next to the staircase that faced the alley and the hotel next door. The beds had a super thin bedsheet instead of a comforter. One of the beds had a mattress that was sagging too much and it was impossible to sit or lay down comfortably.

I felt the need to give an honest recount of my experience. The only pros of the hotel were the super nice people and the food at the breakfast buffet, and the pool/beach area. The beach was also beautiful and better than other beaches in north Miami. I hope this hotel does a better job upkeeping their bedrooms. I filed a complaint last week, but have yet to hear back from them.

Absolutely awful customer service at this hotel. The staff was not friendly for the duration of my stay and not helpful whatsoever when I accidentally left a personal item behind. No responses after weeks of following up. The location is good, and the pool was okay but the hotel itself isn’t great. The walls are paper thin, you can literally hear everything happening in the rooms next to you as well as the street outside. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. There are better places to spend your money in Miami.

Experience to forget !!!!! Please, don't let the 4 stars cheat you, they are absolutely fake and not earned !!!!! The only decent thing is the garden and well equipped beach included in the room, because the famous pool is just a little bigger that your bath tub! For the rest, where should I start? Well, sincerely, from the rooms! Imagine to enter first time and find on your right a couple of sinks (no comment), and then, on your left, a swinging glass door that doesn't lock, with squeeking hinges, where you find toilet and shower! but the icing on the cake is having to spend the entire afternoon of my last day in Miami, collecting water coming from my "sealed" window and from the wall on top, in the garbage bins, just because there was a thunderstorm!!! thank goodness I was IN the room when that started, otherwise, what would have been of all my stuff? it would have probably been flooded. Ah, because of the thunderstorm ALL the elevators were out of order and stayed that way until morning. Imagine to climb 9 floors with your luggage (thank goodness I'm young!!) I was almost forgetting to say that I chose one the best rooms available! Let's not even talk about the cleaning service! And breakfast? A super dooper buffet, offering everything you can think of, too bad everything they offered was terrible, with the only exception of the omelette made from scratch, on order. The rest was stale (Bagel as hard as rocks, even when toasted - croissants .. the same, even when heated!) just awful. Icing on the cake? the "fresh" fruit was molded or rancid!! But the worst thing was that when I talked to the concierge about the rain in my room, they answered that it was normal and understandble because of the thunderstorm.. I don't know, but do you feel it should be normal? Does your house get folooded everytime it rains hard? and let me remind you that Miami is used to tropical storms .. I don't even want to imagine what would have happened in that corcumstance! Well, they didn't even say SORRY! and when I asked to speak with the manager, they didn't even answer, but the reason might be that even though we were in Miami USA, hardly NOBODY spoke ENGLISH, but only spanish, in a 4-star hotel!!! It has been a holiday to forget and please, DON'T YOU EVEN THINK OF EVER GOING TO THAT PLACE!
