La Flora Hotel in Miami Beach

This hotel is perfect for a 1 night stay. Maybe longer if it doesn't rain. It is near the beach, many restaurants and shopping. It was noisy outside but hey it's Miami! The bed was comfortable, the room was clean. Shower and water temp was fine. I didn't like the extremely tiny elevator but I am claustrophobic. I wouldn't have any complaints because it satisfied our needs however it was raining the night we stayed. As I was trying to sleep I thought the rain was awfully loud. In fact it sounded like it was raining in the room. My husband got up to check and sure enough, our suitcases were an inch from water. It was coming in somewhere around the top of the window and was make quite the puddle. The window was shut tight and we could see from the paint, it wasn't the first time. He reported it to the desk and they said they would make a note of it but didn't offer to come clean up the water all over the floor. It is because of this incident we will not be back. We are just grateful we didn't slip on the wet tile!

Terrible stay. I actually stayed at this hotel a few years back and it didn’t seem that bad this time around not so much. The hotel smelled like mildew, the hallway carpets were filthy, and the shower was leaking. Not to mention they did not have any ice buckets or an ice machine. Initial they told use they had an ice machine but no buckets so they had to put the ice in a plastic bag. They then gave us the ice in a scented trash bag and the ice tastes like the scented trash bag. They also don’t have a microwave in rooms or for customer use, so depending on how bonus working some will heat up your food with the staff microwave and others will say they don’t have one. Also they do no kind of house keeping until you leave and the towels are raggedy. The staff are also not really helpful with providing Information, we could do valet parking because apparently they take forever to service you and then when we asked about parking they only told us about the street parking or parking lot that is attached to hotel which is $2 and hour and you can only pay for 8 hours at a time. Diagonally across from hotel is a parking garage that charges about $1 and hr or $20 for 24hrs. I would not recommend this hotel at all the 2 stars are only because it is a great location only 1 block from ocean drive , the beach, and several restaurants. Good luck
