Great location, free laundry (washer and dryer), clean rooms, and excellent service.
An unexpectedly perfect stay, definitely five stars! My trip to Shanghai was made fantastic by choosing the Mercure Shanghai Yu Garden Bund. It's located in the heart of Huangpu District, within walking distance to Yu Garden and the Bund, offering a tranquil escape despite being in a bustling area. It’s super convenient for sightseeing and shopping. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and...
Better than expected! It's right next to Yu Garden, and there's parking right in front of the hotel, making it super convenient for ride-sharing. The front desk, kitchen, and cleaning staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist. The free late-night snacks and shuttle service were such a thoughtful touch! The gym is perfectly adequate, and the rooms are very clean and spacious...
Mercure Shanghai Yu Garden on the Bund
Best location and 5-stars to the patient staff that make a Shanghai visit memorable!
Great communication with the hotel staff that made us feel most welcome with a toiletries package for a 4-night stay. Shanghai can be intimidating to intrepid travellers that don’t speak Chinese, which is why many foreigners join organised tours. We appreciate the welcome email...
Quite near to Yu Garden and all popular locations, you need just around 15-20min to come to the Bund.
*my special recommendations for families with kids
Overall, I'm very satisfied with Mercure. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the service was thoughtful. It offers good value for money, and I'd choose it again next time.

Absolutely fantastic, a truly exemplary hotel. The hygiene was meticulously maintained, and the room's decor was comfortable and well-ventilated. The location is unique with expansive views, offering an unparalleled experience in downtown Shanghai. All the hotel's facilities were well-maintained and high quality. Every staff member I encountered during my stay was friendly and sophisticated. Highly...
My stay at the Radisson Collection Xing Guo was very pleasant. The hotel staff were very kind, professional, and accommodating. Breakfast was tasty and versatile; I would especially mention the braised fish, which was a nice dish to start the day. The hotel is spread across different villas set within a garden, so you don't get the impression that you're in a metropolis. My room was in the main building...
Hidden gem in the bustling heart of Shanghai, Xinguo Hotel is a discreet yet luxurious garden oasis. Its historic villas and lush courtyards make every moment feel like a scene from a classic film. The service is meticulous, breakfast offers a rich variety, and the Western kitchen's à la carte options are absolutely delicious. My stay was an experience beyond expectations!
The travel photography here...
The super king-sized bed was incredibly comfortable, especially the mattress – I loved it. The hotel is housed in an old building with beautiful grounds, offering picturesque views everywhere you look, including several large lawns where you often stumble upon weddings. The dining hub is about a 20-minute walk away, and the popular Wukang Road, a trendy spot for photos, is less than 10 minutes from...
I booked this hotel late at night, and it seemed quite convenient for a city walk. It's one of those charming old villas, and there was even a wedding happening on the lawn when I arrived. It took asking two security guards to find the lobby. When I pulled over to check-in, the doorman's constant nagging to 'get closer, get closer' even though we were already quite close really got on my nerves – I...
The hotel's location is excellent, right in the heart of several popular city walk routes. The facilities and service are decent. During the May Day holiday, there were many weddings and high occupancy, which made parking and dining feel a bit chaotic.

Facilities: Very complete and new.
Hygiene: Clean and tidy.
Environment: Very comfortable and spacious.
Service: Extremely thoughtful.
The hotel's location is super convenient for getting around. It's clean, tidy, and spacious inside. The staff are really nice and helpful. Overall, everything was great, and I'll definitely recommend it to my friends.
This deserves a glowing review! The front desk staff were warm, polite, and incredibly efficient, always quick to help with any request. The breakfast buffet offered a fantastic variety, with both Chinese and Western options. The dishes were exquisite and delicious, and the dining area was clean and tidy. Overall, my stay was extremely comfortable and I highly recommend it.
the hotel is very good, room is clean, service is good, and will share with friends a nd will stay here again
When I arrived that evening, the front desk staff didn't smile or greet me at all. They didn't say a word when checking my ID, just handed me a paper without explaining what it was for. I looked at it and asked if it was for signature, and they just replied 'yes'. I then asked if I should sign here, and again, just 'yes'. It was like pulling teeth; they wouldn't say anything unless I specifically asked...
An average experience. The hotel was hard to find, and the decor was a bit peculiar. It wasn't cleaned thoroughly, so the hygiene was just barely acceptable. Plus, the delivery service was unreliable; my order was taken by someone else, and there was no one to manage it or a robot to deliver it. It felt like an unmanaged place overall.

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the Oriental Sports Center and Taikoo Li, and directly opposite NYU. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the service is warm and attentive. Each floor has a laundry room, which is perfect for longer business trips! I'll definitely come back next time!

As a veteran in the hotel industry for nearly 30 years, I've managed countless hotels and stayed in even more. I was very satisfied with my stay this time! A special thanks to the front desk staff who, considering our need for rest, thoughtfully arranged a quiet floor and room for us. Had a fantastic stay! The room was really new and spotless. The decor was unique, stylish, and modern. The room was clean and beautiful, and my stay was excellent. The most impressive part was the jade screen wall in the hotel lobby on the first floor – I couldn't resist taking so many photos! I also want to thank the two gentlemen at the concierge desk, Hong Yifei and Carson, for helping me track down a package that was mistakenly delivered to another hotel. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area.
When visiting Disneyland, I often choose between the Regal International and the Century Park Hotel. The Century Park offers slightly larger beds and is a bit more affordable. Very disappointing experience for a 4-star hotel.
I had two serious issues during my stay.
First, the hot water pressure was extremely weak. It was very difficult to take a shower, and the water was only lukewarm instead of properly hot. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this category.
Second, I accidentally left my scarf in the hotel. I contacted the hotel and politely asked if they could help...
Handy location, about 10 mins walk to Science & Tech Museum metro station and then a few stops to Nanjing East stop. Housekeeping was great, consistently kept our room tidy and replaced towels everyday as well. Found food court at next station (Century Ave mall) - which is also walkable.
First of all, I'd like to thank Mr. Sun at the front desk. I left my phone in a ride-sharing car, and Mr. Sun went to great lengths to contact the driver and get my phone back to the hotel. I'm incredibly grateful for that, and it really shows how excellent the hotel's service is, especially since I had just returned from overseas and wouldn't have been able to contact anyone without my phone. Super spacious. Great washroom with both bathtub and shower. Lounging on the chaise enjoying the view was super comfy. We didn't need it, but there was a ton of storage space and even a jewellery box.

We chose Manxin because it was newly renovated in 2026, and the facilities are indeed excellent. The front desk is very spacious, breakfast is abundant, and the service is great. Overall, we're very satisfied.
Self-service late-night snack 'Porridge Time': The room was clean and hygienic, breakfast was plentiful with both Chinese and Western options, and the service was thoughtful.

Conveniently located with the subway right outside, it's just one stop to Xujiahui. My kids really love the large bathtub here, which is why we stayed again. A big thanks to the front desk for the free upgrade to a balcony room! 😊😊
Whenever I visit Shanghai, I've only stayed here for the past three years. The facilities are a bit dated, but the hotel has this charming vibe reminiscent of an economic boom era. It's quiet, convenient, and the service is just right – everything is exactly as I'd expect.

Great location, and check-in/check-out was a breeze. The room was clean and well-equipped. It was quiet and comfortable, perfect for all ages. The breakfast was fantastic, and the service was excellent. I'll definitely choose Fairfield again next time I'm in Shanghai!
The hotel is very close to the city center, making it convenient for getting around. The subway station is just a 7-8 minute walk away. My child was a bit noisy, and Olivia at the front desk even gave them a small charm to help calm them down. Thumbs up for that!

When I checked in, the front desk staff, Julie, saw I was sweating a lot and proactively offered me tissues, which was very thoughtful. The breakfast was fantastic, especially the noodles – they were delicious and came with a great variety of toppings...
The hotel lobby has a pleasant aroma and a row of bookshelves that give it an artistic touch. The front desk staff was very friendly, and a special thanks to Olivia for recommending Shanghai attractions and local food. The breakfast was also good, a nice mix of Chinese and Western options, and the transportation was convenient.
The room was clean and tidy. The location is quite convenient, and I frequently stay at this hotel.

The hotel's decor and facilities are quite dated. When I opened the door and saw the wall-mounted phone and floor lamp, I felt like I'd stepped back ten years. The front desk service, however, was absolutely top-notch. The only minor drawback is that food delivery isn't allowed up to the rooms, and there's no robot delivery service.
Clean lovely hotel with full restaurant during breakfast lunch and dinner and high tea but pre book. Breakfast is substantial with my favourite dumplings. Bedroom us clean and the toilets are outta this world
Hotel Front desk Mr SKY offers me good service. I will choose it next time.
The room was quite comfortable and spacious, not cramped at all. The cleanliness was acceptable, but the towels were discolored and hadn't been replaced. For some reason, the water from the smart toilet had a moldy smell, which persisted for several days. The location is good, not far from the subway station. The service was also quite accommodating. Years ago, you had to pick up deliveries outside...
Location is near few malls for F&B as well train station
Facilities: Fully equipped. Hygiene: The room was clean and tidy, facing the sun. Environment: The surrounding commercial area is very lively, and it's very close to the subway. Service: The front desk service was efficient and warm, especially Wendy and Chris.

The location is nice only 50 minutes away from the city center, the room was clean, near the hotel a lot of shopping malls. The only minus was that I had to pay the deposit two times: one on trip com and the second on the reception.
Shower unit is too old. There are gaps between wooden floor. TV unit or the remote control does not function properly. Air conditioning only got hot air blowing out.
An older hotel, but overall it's good and a solid choice in this area. There's also a Ningbo cuisine restaurant nearby worth trying. If I come back to this area, I'd probably choose this hotel again.
Great stay for a 4 night trip including an online meeting. The room was clean, the bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was nice and spacious. I requested a quiet room and it was indeed so. The location was great for my intended stay, a 30-minute taxi ride away from the more touristy areas. The only thing I missed as a foreigner was butter and butter knifes to spread said butter and the jam provided...
The hotel is in a fantastic location! However, it is a bit dated and could use some maintenance. That said, it’s a great option if you're looking for budget-friendly accommodation.
Very good hotel, close to the University of Finance and Economics
