For us Indians it is a place worth staying. For a small town in Finland the service we got was excellent
For an ex we had needed refrigerator and freezer in room. Also good breakfast! Very crispy bacon and cute Moomin cups coming in my mind first😁
Next time we know where to stop, when we are in Tornio!
Very nice old style hotel. It is very good condition and all were new inside.
Lastly, the breakfast was good - a fair few vegetarian options in the buffet but only salad and bread for the vegans (perhaps this could be improved but it didn't affect us), and the coffee cups are very very cute which brings a smile for the morning
A very good stay at this hotel. Had a small kitchen with oven, microwave, electric stove and fridge. We had some issues to exit from the garage because the ramp got really icy and slippery
Last time we were having dinner with a bigger group everything went smoothly and the food was really good from the starters, maincourse and desert.
Everyone has a smile from the time they check in at the front desk
The service attitude is super good!
After staying two nights we decided to book another night
This time I stayed in a glass house
It’s amazing though!
But I would recommend the cabin more
Oh, there’s more! Be sure to try their sauna
Super big, super comfortable and very reasonably priced
transportation:
I think it is more comfortable...
My travel partner slipped on ice and broke their arm. The hotel was very helpful in navigating emergency care, medical resources, and providing us with the support (to go meals) throughout the stay
They made special arrangements so that my travel partner was able to see the aurora after the injury. They also helped with travel insurance claim afterwards
Other than the injury, I’ve had an absolutely amazing experience with Star Arctic hotel. The staff are super welcoming and helpful, even when I’m asking silly and basic questions
Breakfast was generous, offering a good spread to suit most tastes, and the in-house restaurant shares the same incredible view. We dined there one evening and tried the Fried Arctic Char and the Reindeer Top Roast
Food is really nice, delicious and with a good variety throughout our stay. Rooms are clean and comfy, I loved the sauna especially. Even just staying there is a blessing
The Sello shopping center nearby is also excellent. Very cozy, friendly and quiet hotel - good for any length visits
Default hotel whenever visiting Helsinki - no need to stay in city center when I can get an entire private flat with excellent pubilic transport connection in Leppävaara
The rooms are clean and are out varied sizes. Good choices for long stays. Very helpful for people with l who prefer own cooked food than restaurants for daily or for dietary needs
; that said the place is really quiet and good for families / willing to live there e. The Leppävaara railway station is about
Good location
Value for money
Breakfast & WiFi facility
12 min walk to Leppavaran station & near by shopping malls
It's good. Not a big deal tho, but it's prefect for short stayings in Leppävaara, such as friends or relatives visiting during the Erasmus exchange.
The only downside is that it’s not in the city center, so if you want to be in the heart of the city without taking a bus, this might not be the best choice
Rooms where very clean, especially the breakfast was tasty, I found very good options for those who don't eat meat. Great value for money.
Very clean but sterile environment, half-hospital - also accommodating a polyclinic and some sort of patients, view nothing much, price good, rooms modern, near to a hospital
But if you're looking to save some money and enjoy a really neat and relaxing atmosphere, this hotel is perfect. Plus, I paid only 100€ per night breakfast included!!! That was a great deal
The breakfast was perfect in my opinion, with a great variety of options, from savory items like sausages and potatoes to cold cuts, and even delicious pancakes with Nutella or jam
The receptionist was incredibly sweet and managed to calm me down, especially since I was a bit brusque at first, questioning why it wasn’t mentioned that it was a hospital hotel
We only had one night to spend and we would have enjoyed a few more days with the friendly host. Sufficient and good selection for breakfast, quiet and comfortable rooms. We missed nothing.
This is a very charming place to stay. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Buffet breakfast has good variety and the food that should be warm is warm. I would stay again.
A charming property with fantastic service. Their complimentary breakfast buffet is one of the best we’ve had.
They went above and beyond by recommending unique activities by local guides such as a husky safari and a snowmobile excursion, which added an adventurous touch to our stay
This family-run hotel truly exceeded all our expectations. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the rooms were impeccably clean and well-maintained
A Family that shares its home. Not a usual hotel. Very unique, super nice staff and always available. Breakfast was yummy.
Went to see Santa, excellent, grandchildren had a fantastic time (big kids too) plenty to do. Great experience
Liads of snow and lots of fun. Lots of winter outdoor activities for all age ranges. Cookie and Xmas decoration making. Elves everywhere, even a troll cave. Santa meet and greet an unforgettable experience
We had a great trip here a few years ago. Beautiful scenery, walks through the woods, cookie decorating and a chance to meet the real Santa! Lots to see and do
Had a great time here. We loved making gingerbread & decorations. Santa was brilliant and thanks to the Shamen lady for helping out our daughter.
Cute village with whimsical displays. Hot cocoa & history.
No free internet available but you could go to the nearest park for it. The service was good. The room was good, only needed a better view.
We had a 3 night stay here when visiting Helsinki for the Ed Sheeran concert. The hotel is Ina great location, just a short stroll to the Esplanade,Senate Square and the port where the boat trips depart from
The best thing about the hotel was the service. All the staff were really helpful but Elena stood head and shoulders above them all - she was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for her
The rooms are a decent size, ours overlooked the courtyard, and we had a wonderfully comfortable superior sized bed
The “bathroom” was small having only a shower rather than a bath and it was somewhat dated - but perfectly fit for use
Breakfast was great with a wide range of foods for all tastes - my only disappointment was that the coffee wasn’t great but there are several good coffee shops within a short walk of the hotel
Especially if you have any love for trains and the railway!
The single person rooms are spacious and well equipped and the rooms in the converted water tower are very posh!
This is truly a five star establishment! Using a variety of repurposed and newly built extensions this hotel is the place to stay
Clean rooms and Susanna at the front desk was really nice. They heated sauna just for us in the morning. Happy with our stay!
Perttu decent hotel, rooms were clean. Even though we booked and paid extra for the room to have dogs with us we did not get a water bowl for the dogs or anything else
Many hotels in the same area offer food and water bowls ready in the room for dogs and little care packages such as treats and poop bags
Syapte, Syötekeskuksentie 126, 93280 Syöte, Finland 🧭 Map
The quiet rooms and excellent beds ensured a great night’s sleep. Our under-one-year-old baby also slept wonderfully in her own baby bed. The hotel is located on top of a fell and offers beautiful views
Very good service compared to iso-syöte. I recommend this place! Rooms are great, nice view. Breakfast are good. The burger and pizza seems nice but we don’t have enough time to try.
The Northern Lights could be seen through the large windows. The hotel restaurant serves an excellent breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Overall, it was a great experience!
Fine room with great view (jr. suite, summer visit). Hotel feels very good kept. Good starting point for mountain biking in the area.
There is a sauna and gym, though it was initially a challenge to navigate to it. Meals at the restaurant is good. Though dinner was simple, it was elegant and we love the dessert
I visited the hotel for the first time after the major upgrades, and it felt like I had arrived at a completely different place than before. The new owners have done great work in a short time
Ivalo, Näverniementie 17, 99800 Ivalo, Finland 🧭 Map
Good place for overnight stay with your tent or caravan. Far away from the main road, so no noise during night time
It's about a 30 minute walk into Ivalo village where there are a couple of supermarkets and places to eat lunch. Dinner though is best eaten in the restaurant at the holiday centre. Especially if you like Reindeer stew
Good location for town centre easy walk about 30 mins ideal base to explore and activities
The park is simple but nice and on walking distance from the centre of Ivalo. The owners are happy to answer all your questions. We booked their husky-, snowmobile- and aurora safari
Very friendly staff, comfortable accommodation and good location
On the road, the owner has already some nice facts about the neighbourhood. We are very grateful for our beautiful Lapland winter-experience and want to come back in summer someday!
We were on the road on our way to Nordkapp and we wanted to have some breakfast, we saw this place and it was our best decision. Wonderful place, amazing home made food and with a really nice staff working
Best for northern light viewing in the area, with extremely friendly and helpful owner/staff make this place easily get the best rating for the place to stay.
They also have fire in their teepee so you can warm yourself while waiting for aurora. Their restaurant have good foods. They also have other activities such as snowmobile safari, ice fishing and more
The best place I stayed in Finland.
Amazing location, great food, no light pollution, great views, nice people. Everything about this place was fantastic.
We have stayed at Giellajohka already three times, almost every summer, and it feels like this place is becoming a beloved part of our holiday traditions. The accommodation is always clean and well-priced
The food… super good and the breakfast buffet is a dream come true! We love it here ❤️
Dinner and breakfast in the main building was very good, would certainly stop just for eating here. Also the little shop provided us with necessities when needed. Charger for the electric car was very efficient
excellent food for “lounas” price. Loved the lasagna, though chili con carne was very good as well; koti kalja was also very good
Skiing on the ice was wonderfull. Food at the restaurant was good and cabin fullfilled our expectations.
The cabin was pleasant but we didn't use the kitchen but had our meals at the restaurant which was good and very good value for money
Good value for money
Its not far to drive to Olavinlinna and there is even a train
If we travel here again we would book here again
Really great summer and winter place. We visited here for a day last summer (2021) and decided to spend our winter holiday (2022) here. Loads of winter activities, great cottages and service.
Good hotel with nice clean rooms. Restaurant is a little bit outdated but food is good.
Room was spacious, clean, warm, quiet (4th floor) and well equipped for a three star hotel having even a small fridge. The large conference room was cool, it was almost -30°C outside
Everything worked well, sauna was actually pretty good! Price a bit high for a small city like Riihimäki, though.
One of the best Scandic I have stayed.
Smaller group working rooms were warm. The breakfasts were good and sufficient. The lunches on the weekend were cold, but there was enough to eat
The reception staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.
Their house is a beautiful mansion immersed in one of the immense Finnish forests close to Saimaa lake, but it is easily reachable thanks to the adjacent railroad and the highway, just 10 minutes from the city center of Lappeenranta
The sauna was perfect, the little pool was clean as well. It‘s very quiet, a little bit outside of the main city. The owners are the most friendly people. The sauna got prepared for us, we didn‘t have to do anything
Even coal and firestarters for the barbecue have been prepared. A small rowing boat is available for rent as well. If you‘re looking for a quiet place in Lappeenranta, Salpalinjan Hovi is the place to be
Everything was perfect, from the friendly helpful 'Anne' to the room, facilities, cleanliness and beautiful surroundings. The atmosphere was great, too. We would highly recommend this beautiful hotel.
My whole family visited Lappeenranta and all stayed at Salpanlinjan Hovi. 5 year old toddler upfront via telephone was not a problem. The rooms are really nicely renovated and very clean
We visited Salpalinjan Hovi in May and were given a tour of the Salpa Line sights by Anne. She was very knowledgable and friedly. Styled very nicely and with plenty of character
The view isn't even that good! I would recommend rather going to the swimming hall in Ekenäs, where it is much cheaper and where there's a big warm pool, a big colder pool, a childrens pool and a bubble pool
Overall experience was good and relaxing. We got there early so we got to enjoy the quietness of the spa. Incredible views and a relaxing atmosphere
The views are stunning year round. Especially if the day is bright. During summer season only hotel Regatta guests and apartment shareholders can enter, otherwise available for everyone.
Great food and an awesome place to relax.
Nice, new and clean. Only two pools, though. No jacuzzies or hottubs.
There's two pools, one 25m long one for swimming and one smaller, warmer one with some special stuff to chill in. Then there's normal saunas in each dressing rooms and a fog sauna beside the pools too
Room is a bit small but all is good. Breakfast is okay, buffet style breakfast. A long walk from city center to the hotel, it would be a long miserable walk if you are carrying a suitcase on the snowy ground
I saw a review mentioning that the front desk would heat up food if you asked, as there's no microwave, so I tried, but they couldn't do it. I guess the only good thing about this place is its location
The hotel has a sauna with separate time slots for men and women. The breakfast setup was very atmospheric, with a good variety of food, excellent quality, and a spacious dining area. We had a very enjoyable evening.
From city centre to hotel is a 7 mins walk (without luggage) (little upslope), which is already a very convenient choice in Rovaniemi
In summary, is a highly recommended hotel for your stay in Rovaniemi!
Room and bathroom a bit tired, breakfast moderate but still have basic like yoghurt , bread, hot meal limited choice, anyway, service superb goo, let me feel like home
It's quite well-located, and we absolutely loved the hotel and the very attentive staff! The lady at reception was lovely and even taught us a few Finnish words
Considering the size of the hotel, breakfast was excellent. Everything was tasty and fresh.
The hotel is perfectly fine, its design reminds me of a dentist's office. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. As a foreigner, it is worth asking them to call a taxi, because otherwise this is almost impossible
Small, nice hotel. Plus the location and good parking space. Breakfast sufficient and surprisingly plentiful. Very friendly service.
Hyvä sijainti
Rauhallinen pieni hotelli. Hyvä sijainti vanhan kaupungin kupeessa. Hyvä aamiainen.
Great value for money, short distances to everywhere, very nice rooma.
Easy arrival, bed and blanket/pillow a plus. Friendly staff.
